"When we bought our house in Poway 11 years ago, we were so happy with our huge master bath and Jacuzzi tub. It was such a huge step-up from our prior home. But just like the rest of the house, the master bath was already almost 20 years old and getting out dated and in need of remodeling. We broke up our remodeling projects into every couple of years, doing what we could ourselves and hiring out for the rest. The master bath was the last project and much too big for us to do on our own. We got 3 quotes from 3 contractors listed on Angie’s list which all had good reviews. They were very professional, on time, considerate and knew exactly what they were doing. There were certain things we were really looking for in the remodel. First off, the bathroom was pretty large with a high ceiling. In the winter months, it was always really cold and hard to heat. To solve that we had TaylorPro install heated flooring beneath the travertine tiles. We also needed a custom vanity that would conceal hair appliances, most of our personal toiletries and have enough storage for everything else. The cabinetry was custom designed to exactly what we were looking for. Lastly, we wanted a classic, timeless look using tumbled travertine. After consulting with his designer we were able to select all the tile, accent tile and a beautiful frameless glass shower enclosure. Letter From A Client ! We hired Gappsi this summer to do a complete backyard project. We chose a free form in-ground vinyl pool, travertine patio, composite desk and full landscaping. Wow! We just love how dazzling this new Cambria countertop is. It really picks up the beautiful coastal color from the sleek sea glass subway tile in the backsplash. Combined with new durable Cali Vinyl longboard planks, stainless cooking appliances, sink and faucet, it really transforms the space without having to remodel the entire kitchen.

Objectives Having lived with the kitchen as supplied by the builder since buying the property new they had finally had enough of its poor and inadequate design that provided only a basic L shape layout, no dining area and only a single built under oven. At our initial design brief meeting it became clear that the Gardner’s wanted more light in the kitchen, more useable work surface, more storage, high level built in cooking appliances, an island with somewhere to sit and socialise but not to compromise on the aesthetic which was all important. What We Did They liked the whole look of the Second Nature 1909 in frame painted style but were concerned about price. We suggested breaking into the pitched roof and introducing a long bank of Velux’s to create a much lighter, airier feel to the whole room; he also suggested removing the existing radiator and replacing it with a plinth heater thus freeing up an otherwise difficult to use wall. To keep cost down he also suggested using the Second Nature Milbourne painted foil wrapped shaker door in contrasting colour ways shown. The Result We created the desired look but keeping within the budget. As you can see from the photos, the room is much lighter. Testimonial We were planning to renew our kitchen and had already visited some of the usual DIY stores to get ideas and estimates. We then went along to Rugby Fitted Kitchens to see what they could offer and were immediately impressed by the showroom; the variety of kitchen styles and design ideas on display were inspirational and brought the prospect of a new kitchen to life, far better than flicking through brochures. Trevor understood our requirements and guided us through the design process suggesting options for the cupboard configurations and fitments that maximised our storage space, in addition to which the pricing for the Neff appliances was second to none either matching or bettering the best buys I could find online. The installation was expertly undertaken by Daniel & Daniel (yes they really do have the same Christian names!!) and nothing was too much trouble for them. We are absolutely delighted with the finished product and would have no hesitation in recommending RFK to our friends.”

Jamie absolutely loves American folk art, country fabrics, Shaker furniture, decorative paint and quilts. If she could pack it up and move to a B&B in the mountains she’d go in a heartbeat. In fact, she is still looking for that perfect cabin in the local mountains, and when it’s found... we’ll be decorating that too. Jamie's bedroom is truly one of the most relaxing places on earth. The bedding, pillows, drapery, chairs and ottoman are all custom made using fabrics I selected. The wool rug is from the same vendor as the dining room rug and the colors are just fabulous. The walls are finished in a subtle glaze with a leaf pattern crowning the doors and windows. There is a view of a local lake out the window., and a library wall which will eventually be full of books but for now is treated with accessories. The chairs are inviting in a nubby creme fabric with the black and white toile used as piping. The ottoman has a nice durable fabric at the top, so you won't hesitate to put your feet up... again, and again...
