Wall to wall cabinets in converted warehouse space, this nook creates a dynamic home office. The cabinet exteriors use a high gloss melamine called Antracita. The recessed open shelving is a textured woodgrain laminate, this one is called Castellina, and the desk surface uses a formica Stainless Steel laminate. The upper doors lift upwards on stays, and we used stainless steel pulls and handles on drawers and doors. We used LED puck lights over the work surface for task lighting. Photos by Metroviews.ca

This front-facing view of the kitchen highlights the clean, contemporary design centered around the sink and window, where natural light enhances the sleek finishes and reflective surfaces throughout the space. High-gloss white cabinetry keeps the palette bright and streamlined, while crisp white quartz countertops provide a durable and elegant work surface that carries seamlessly across the kitchen. A vibrant green glass backsplash adds a bold design statement, bringing color and depth to the otherwise minimal palette. The reflective surface catches both natural and under-cabinet lighting, creating a soft glow that enhances the modern aesthetic while tying together the surrounding cabinetry and workspaces. At the peninsula, additional counter space provides a functional area for meal prep, casual dining, or gathering with guests. This layout allows the kitchen to remain open and connected to the surrounding living spaces while maintaining a clean, uncluttered appearance. The result is a thoughtfully designed contemporary kitchen where bold materials, clean lines, and practical functionality come together in a polished and inviting way.

A bright, industrial chic kitchen. Accented with wood beam, white brick walls. The Lisboa patchwork hexatile highlighted the backsplash. Frosted glass horizontal upper cabinets added a modern touch.

This house overlooking the Burrard inlet in Port Moody was re-created for homeowners who wished to stay for their love of the Cliffside location. The space is full of intrigue and inspiration for its artistic owners, with yet another piece of oceanic whimsy around each turn. Natural light floods the sitting area and dining room, spilling up into the kitchen of the split level greatroom space. A towering stone fireplace offsets the warm wood floor and white high gloss kitchen cabinets. The circular windows repeated throughout the home bring balance and a softened touch to the marine industry expression of the dark wooden post and beam structure. Downstairs media and games rooms provide space in this family home for everyone to find solace for something they enjoy… when they are not taking in the spectacular views from the home’s ocean facing patio.

This Modern kitchen features a mix of hand-finished natural walnut and high-gloss flat panels. The two-level island is over 14 feet long, and has a generous seating area. All photos by Barry MacKenzie.

This white kitchen is grounded by the dark espresso island. Carrara marble island with wine storage on the side create a beautiful contrast to the white cabinets with the silestone grey countertops and herringbone backsplash tile. This kithchen renovation included the removal of a load bearing wall to open it up and make it feel bright and airy.
