Inspiration for a huge industrial three-car garage workshop remodel in Calgary

My client had a unique problem to solve: How to cover a protruding fuse box on the wall of her newly renovated outdoor patio and BBQ area inspired from their time living abroad in Argentina. She wanted to cover it with something warm and festive and inviting- very much like her and her family and her community! We brainstormed and came up with doing custom deep set panels with bright pops of color inspired from the Candy Jar Series. The panels and paintings are weather proofed and varnished and looking so gorgeous in their new home.

Narrow kitchen in 4 bedroom apartment, meant for a nice size family. No place to put table in the kitchen as well as a double oven, dishwasher, and pantry! The problem was solved by putting a table right outside the pass-thru window over the counter. Fits minimum 3. A half pantry was designed under the counter instead of a monsterous full size in this small kitchen. Shiny cream top cabinets to reflect the light and create the illusion of a larger room.

A stone feature solves an erosion problem where runoff was washing away soil. Natural limestone forms a dry creekbed that channels water into a lower area. Moss and wildflowers decorate the stones, while ferns and shade-loving plants transition the area into the edge of a wood.

Closet - modern closet idea in Richmond

A rustic & careworn gazebo is resurrected as an outdoor cooking, dining & living space. At 1,000' above the waters of the San Juan Islands, the views are amazing but the winds are almost constant. Sliding wood panels in the windward direction solve that problem while offering views of Canada's Gulf Islands through the diamond-shaped windows. Rustic knee braces stabilize the structure. The wrong application was installed on this almost flat roof. Asphalt shingles are not designed to hold water and the roof was leaking. We installed a proper flat application self adhered rolled composition roofing material instead and solved their problem.

AFTER. The Mrs. bought a big screen t.v. for for her husband for Xmas. Having no where to put the t.v., he built a make shift table and put a blanket on it. Problem solved, right? Not so much. They contacted Stan and Andrea Mussman with Mussman Design to design and install new family room cabinetry, fireplace, paint, crown, drapery, paint and accessories. Whereas before the family had no space for the children's toys, now there is ample space to tuck the toys away. In addition to designing and building all of the structures you see, we added large concrete beam walls at ground level to solve an existing problem. Water from rainfall had been running into the area under the old deck. The low concrete walls we added to the deck design now divert water properly. The homeowners are quite glad to be rid of that problem! The new design provides plenty of storage space under the deck so they can easily store their waterfront toys.
