This stunning Eastern Suburbs kitchen design comes to life at night with blue and purple 'disco strip' LED lighting under mounted in kitchen and vanities. The owners completely remodeled the home including the kitchen, ensuite and bathroom. Previously a bedroom, two walls were removed to accommodate the new kitchen to create an open plan living area and extend the overall living area. Cabinetry in Polyurethane Antique, matching Kirribilli-style cabinet doors, feature panel glass doors, Butler sink and Shaker-style handles all contribute to create a traditional style kitchen. The Calcutta marble benchtop and splashback unifies the contrasting black of the Island and kickboards. The black and white theme extends from the kitchen through to the bathroom and laundry.

Portabella stained bamboo base cabinets and island with crystal white wall cabinets provide the backdrop for this modern kitchen. The slab doors, floating shelves and square lines contribute to the minimalist design. A geometric pattern backsplash adds depth to the space while solid white quartz countertops pulls the look together. Finishing touches include a custom range hood with a brushed nickel skirt and brushed nickel hardware.

A new home for two, generating four times more electricity than it uses, including the "fuel" for an electric car. This house makes Net Zero look like child's play. But while the 22kW roof-mounted system is impressive, it's not all about the PV. The design features great energy savings in its careful siting to maximize passive solar considerations such as natural heating and daylighting. Roof overhangs are sized to limit direct sun in the hot summer and to invite the sun during the cold winter months. The construction contributes as well, featuring R40 cellulose-filled double-stud walls, a R50 roof system and triple glazed windows. Heating and cooling are supplied by air source heat pumps. The cabinetry features Dura Supreme's expertly crafted dark cherry cabinets, lending richness and depth to the design. Located in the Sky Lofts building in Tribeca (once home to the most expensive apartment sale in NYC), our clients were ready to renovate and modernize their centerpiece kitchen. Due to the unique nature of loft renovations (high ceilings, columns, creative and skillful lighting applications, among other factors), Gallery’s expertise in loft spaces was vital to our clients. In addition to the loft particularities, it’s important in a kitchen of this size to ensure that all the elements have been laid out with purpose from a functional perspective and a design perspective. CENTERPIECE KITCHEN Color was an important design element in this kitchen. This is evident in the striking blues and grays of the marble countertops and backsplash, as well as the dark navy hue of the built-in cabinets. White lower cabinets create two-tone contrast, while glass cabinets and a long wood open shelf make the most of the available height. The built-in cabinets also include built-in appliances: an espresso maker, coffee machine, two side-by-side wine fridges, and even an integrated refrigerator paneled to match the cabinetry for an essentially seamless look. The cabinets are all push-to-open, eliminating knobs to complete the overall sleek, contemporary style. The marble backsplash is also book-matched, meaning the slabs of stone have been cut and polished to match each other, creating a mirroring effect that further contributes to the cohesive, contemporary aesthetic of this apartment. BUILDING CONSIDERATIONS Functional factors are another vital component to New York City apartment building renovations. In this particular project, we had to consider how to get large slabs of stone into the loft without having to cut them up. When working with slabs, and especially when the design is as sleek and contemporary as this one, it’s vital to eliminate seams as much as possible. Elevators and stairs are often not large enough to handle large slabs of stone, which means there are only two other options: cutting the stone and putting it back together on site (but this will create a seam, so it’s not always an option) or using a crane to bring it in through a window. Higher-end buildings tend to have more restrictions and management companies with stricter renovation guidelines – with good reason. A good relationship with the super and staff of the building is absolutely essential; effective communication with everyone involved will result in an ideal outcome for all parties. ARTFUL LOGISTICS Seemingly minor elements such as apartment protections are also just as crucial. While every renovation will require protections in hallways, common spaces, zip walls, and perhaps the floors, those protections are doubled when renovating in an apartment that’s currently occupied. In the case of this particular client, who owned a great deal of valuable artwork in addition to their furniture and other belongings, Gallery exacted their own form of art when putting the protections in place and maneuvering around them with skill. This custom dressing room/walk-in closet is luxurious! I contributed to the beauty with the pink velvet draw-up curtain with 4 inch long fringes! This is a great way to have instant privacy or openness with one pull of a cord! It matches the cover of the mini lounger cushion which I also created and including one of my custom pillows. Every gal wants one of these!

Converting this bare area into a stunning new bathroom was an exciting endeavor. The design features, including a curbless shower with a linear drain, a pocket door, and a pony wall, were thoughtfully implemented to maximize both functionality and aesthetics. Innovative approaches were taken to adapt to the unique layout, with extra care given to ensuring the spacious curbless shower was both practical and visually appealing. The shower’s design features intricate details, beginning with a stainless-steel linear drain that spans its entire width. This setup accommodates large 12″x24″ tiles and a straight sloped floor, minimizing grout lines and simplifying the cleaning process. Two shower niches were designed to provide extra storage without clutter. A spacious bench was constructed for comfort, relaxation, and ease of access. A pony wall was added to divide the toilet and shower, eliminating the necessity for a shower curtain. A glass mosaic tile accent band was selected to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the space. Subtle details like edge trim and aligned tile/drywall points contribute to a polished overall appearance. Our options for vanity selections were somewhat restricted, but we found a mahogany veneer piece on sale at a local big box store that met our requirements perfectly. Given the factory’s light lacquer application and the bathroom’s exposure to humidity and water, I decided to apply two additional coats of lacquer to all exposed wood after a thorough sanding and cleaning. To achieve a marble-like appearance, we constructed a polished tile countertop and installed an undermount sink for both aesthetics and functionality. After preparing the surface of the sink, I applied an epoxy coating to seamlessly integrate the sink and tile. The same mosaic tile from the shower was used for the backsplash, enhancing the overall luxurious feel. The recessed lighting and vanity bar fixture were connected to a dual dimmer switch for added versatility. A pocket door featuring latching hardware was installed to maximize space and maintain a sleek appearance. To enhance the sense of openness, a large, full-width mirror was selected. Adequate ventilation was provided by an in-wall fan connected to a standard switch and a programmable humidistat, allowing the fan to activate when humidity levels reached a specified threshold. Additionally, a compact Jeld-Wen window sourced from a local Habitat for Humanity store was fitted with a convenient cordless shade.

There are a small number of cities in the world where luxury and lifestyle enthusiasts would aim to live. One of them is Dubai, a realm of high end living, glamour and complexity. Possessing a luxury address in this culturally rich city is for sure a exceptional treat. For those of you who can actually afford one, this penthouse which is Signature Stagers’ end of the year work of art is a very engaging proposal. This penthouse we staged at the start of November 2015 has been lingering on the market for about 2 years prior to our meeting the owner. It is located in the exclusive Dubai Marina district among a few other select buildings and is currently for sale with Verzun on a POA (Price on application) basis due to its unique stature and lifestyle element which removes it from the “square foot” mentality and elevates it from its competition within the same building. The penthouse was renovated prior to staging, and the apartment itself displays a fresh and modern look whilst keeping its classic and initial fit out and design. Although a few key elements of the penthouse’s original architecture were retained, this neo-classical approach we decided on contributed to the dwellings select and sophisticated appeal numerous novel and sharply modern features which are also present around the residence, thus safeguarding its uniqueness and extremely fascinating form. Swaggering 14,000 square feet this splendid home is apposite to a family as much as it is for the traveling executive who desires an exclusive and ultra-private address in Dubai. Enjoying 5 bedrooms all en-suite including a master bedroom with a sunset that decorates the floor to ceiling windows with a purple-orange and that by itself is a deal closer! This project was done for a professional couple who had two children and a grandchild move back home due to the Pandemic. We helped the family add over 600 SF to their living space that they desperately needed. The home is a brick home built in the 1980s. The area we had to work with was an atrium (We don’t see many of those these days!) and a garage that would be closed in. They needed an additional room & storage space including a mechanical room for the AC that would service this area and expanded office space. The primary difficulties were making the project not look like a closed garage and reframing the roof that had a valley that terminated at the atrium. We were able to raise + level the floor of the garage so that it was equal to the rest of the home. We also matched windows put into the garage to other windows on the front of the house creating design continuity. Often when we do garage conversions, we uncouple the drive way from the house to avoid the closed in garage appearance. Unfortunately, on this project that was not possible because of the need for maximum parking. But with the design consistency, the conversion appears seamless with the house. The roof framing turned out to be more problematic than we had anticipated because the garage roof had been created with trusses whereas the rest of the roof had been traditionally framed. That combined with the open atrium falling in the roof valley made the infill framing a challenge. Ultimately, we were able to fill in the roof over the atrium so that it looks like it was always there. Where there had once been a garage door, there was now a bedroom wall with two large windows. In addition to the two large windows, light-colored paint and flooring also contributed to the brightness of the new space. The bedroom has a walk-in closet with built-in shelving. On the other side, we created a large storage space for the family to use since they no longer have their garage for storage.

The “Haverhill” is a simply elegant Georgian-style home. Symmetry and order are balanced by decorative details, all of which contribute to the authenticity of the design. Arched rooflines, copper dormers and stone masonry are just a few of the creative touches found on this home’s exterior. The custom kitchen boasts painted inset cabinets, three-piece crown molding and furniture details such as turned legs and wainscot paneling.
