Peter Rymwid Photography My young professional clients loved everything about their townhouse on the Hudson except for the cramped, dark, uninviting kitchen. During their frequent dinner parties they were always separated from their guests. Light which filled the rest of the living area never made it into the kitchen. Their most important request in this remodel was to create a bright, contemporary, light filled kitchen where their cooking would take center stage. We started by removing a large portion of the wall separating the kitchen and dining area. This integrated the kitchen into the living space and allowed interaction between cook and guests. Next we removed a side wall to gain more cabinet and countertop space. Existing drop ceilings were removed giving extra height in the wall cabinets. A raised waterfall end eating counter keeps the visual line clean and provides ample counter space for dining or wine tasting. Bright white painted cabinets with recessed panels and a crisp white quartz counter create a bright contemporary space. Blue white and taupe subway tiles made from recycled glass add a feel of waves to the back splash. A coordinating blue paint adds to the beachy vibe of the room. Shiny easy to clean stainless appliances are both functional and attractive especially as they are seen from the entire living area. The new engineered wood flooring was continued up the wall under the eating counter. The material provides a more durable surface than painted sheet rock. Recessed LED ceiling lights and under cabinet lights provide all the task lighting needed to prepare meals while using very little energy. Instead of installing any hanging fixtures which might block the open feeling, smaller can LED lights were installed over the raised counter.

The dining area, located adjacent to the kitchen, is accented with a drop ceiling and glamorous wood ceiling detail. With a view of both the great room and golf course, the dining area is the perfect space for long conversations with family and friends.

On the main level of Hearth and Home is a full luxury master suite complete with all the bells and whistles. Access the suite from a quiet hallway vestibule, and you’ll be greeted with plush carpeting, sophisticated textures, and a serene color palette. A large custom designed walk-in closet features adjustable built ins for maximum storage, and details like chevron drawer faces and lit trifold mirrors add a touch of glamour. Getting ready for the day is made easier with a personal coffee and tea nook built for a Keurig machine, so you can get a caffeine fix before leaving the master suite. In the master bathroom, a breathtaking patterned floor tile repeats in the shower niche, complemented by a full-wall vanity with built-in storage. The adjoining tub room showcases a freestanding tub nestled beneath an elegant chandelier.

Majlis is the traditional name for for Living rooms in Arab homes - this is the area where even in modern homes, the design style will be tradional arabic with touches of arabesques or fret work. The setting is generally placed all around the room symmetrically to encourage interaction between people.

This luxurious farmhouse entry and living area features custom beams and all natural finishes. It brings old world luxury and pairs it with a farmhouse feel. The stone archway and soaring ceilings make this space unforgettable!

In this kitchen renovation we opened up the wall that separated the kitchen and living room to instantly create a feeling of a larger kitchen and allows for better interaction with guests. Incorporating a breakfast bar added extra seating, a place to sit and converse with the cook while preparing meals and a place to set up a buffet when needed by utilizing the added counter surface. The kitchen extended into the dining space by adding a base cabinet with wood top, flanked by two pantry cabinets. The products used are Waypoint Cherry Spice 420S Full Overlay Square Door Style with veneer flat panel accented with brushed nickel pulls. Santa Cecilia granite countertops with an undermount stainless steel 60/40 sink and Moen Arbor High Arc faucet. For the backsplash Bliss Amber Tea Linear Glass/Stone Blend tile was installed. Accented with a Seagull custom design Ambiance low voltage rail system with 2 pendant lights and 8 directional spot lights.

The home is sunken into the lot's relatively precipitous slope, fusing it with the site. Tree limbs criss-cross from every view point, a perpetual interaction between the vegetation and the building.

The Aerius - Modern Craftsman in Ridgefield Washington by Cascade West Development Inc. Upon opening the 8ft tall door and entering the foyer an immediate display of light, color and energy is presented to us in the form of 13ft coffered ceilings, abundant natural lighting and an ornate glass chandelier. Beckoning across the hall an entrance to the Great Room is beset by the Master Suite, the Den, a central stairway to the Upper Level and a passageway to the 4-bay Garage and Guest Bedroom with attached bath. Advancement to the Great Room reveals massive, built-in vertical storage, a vast area for all manner of social interactions and a bountiful showcase of the forest scenery that allows the natural splendor of the outside in. The sleek corner-kitchen is composed with elevated countertops. These additional 4in create the perfect fit for our larger-than-life homeowner and make stooping and drooping a distant memory. This outdoor garden space allows for a connection with nature as well as be used as a gathering space for socialization and interaction. This area consists of pavement tile flooring, landscaping, wooden dining table with cushion seats, and Moroccan centrepieces to top it off.
