while a bit unorthodox, the new owners of this recent brownstone condo conversion wanted to combine two modest bathrooms to create one larger space with a cohesive, modern feel. wood elements combine with a wood textured tile to give warmth to the space, while introducing a cohesive design palette that is at once modern and timeless.

We introduced new bedding, upholstery, rugs, and toss pillows into each of the bedrooms of which would feature various colors found the tropical oasis.

Part of the lower paver patio area, a cedar pergola was introduced to provide shad and enclosure around a specific area that is frequently used. We used travertine pavers directly beneath the pergola area.

Located on the flat of Beacon Hill, this iconic building is rich in history and in detail. Constructed in 1828 as one of the first buildings in a series of row houses, it was in need of a major renovation to improve functionality and to restore as well as re-introduce charm.Originally designed by noted architect Asher Benjamin, the renovation was respectful of his early work. “What would Asher have done?” was a common refrain during design decision making, given today’s technology and tools. Bringing warm tones into this space was a big consideration when choosing tile for this main bathroom, to be cohesive with the overall feel of this home and the warm hardwood flooring throughout. The textured wall tile was a must for this homeowner who fell in love with the look, while introducing a floor tile that has what can't be seen warm tones to help it be cohesive with the rest of the house. Choosing a warm-toned vanity was also critical in keeping to the overall look while introducing cooler paint tones and contemporary lighting to add to this updated look, that gave them the feel that they had been looking for!

When walking in the front door you see straight through to the expansive views- we wanted to lean into this feature with our design and create a space that draws you in and ushers you to the light filled heart of the home. We introduced deep shades on the walls and a whitewashed flooring to set the tone for the contrast utilized throughout. A personal favorite- The client’s owned a fantastic piece of art featuring David Bowie that we used as inspiration for the color palette throughout the entire home, so hanging it at the entry and introducing you to the vibes of this home from your first foot in the door was a no brainer.
