When designing this beautiful kitchen, we knew that our client’s favorite color was blue. Upon entering the home, it was easy to see that great care had been taken to incorporate the color blue throughout. So, when our Designer Sherry knew that our client wanted an island, she jumped at the opportunity to add a pop of color to their kitchen. Having a kitchen island can be a great opportunity to showcase an accent color that you love or serve as a way to showcase your style and personality. Our client chose a bold saturated blue which draws the eye into the kitchen. Shadow Storm Marble countertops, 3x6 Bianco Polished Marble backsplash and Waypoint Painted Linen floor to ceiling cabinets brighten up the space and add contrast. Arabescato Carrara Herringbone Marble was used to add a design element above the range. The major renovations performed on this kitchen included: A peninsula work top and a small island in the middle of the room for the range was removed. A set of double ovens were also removed in order for the range to be moved against the wall to allow the middle of the kitchen to open up for the installment of the large island. Placing the island parallel to the sink, opened up the kitchen to the family room and made it more inviting.

When our clients completed a renovation of their mid-century rancher in North Vancouver's Edgemont Village neighbourhood, their home felt anything but finished. Their traditional furnishings looked dated and tired in the newly updated spaces, so they called on us for help. As a busy professional couple with grown children, our clients were looking for a polished, sophisticated look for their home. We used their collection of artwork as a jumping off point for each room, developing a colour scheme for the main living areas in neutral greys and beiges with a generous dose of rich burnt orange tones. We created interest by layering patterned wallpaper, textured fabrics and a mix of metals and designed several custom pieces including the large library wall unit that defines one end of the living space. This was a custom faux rock slide and jumping platform that was built for a customer of ours. The water flows over and creates a small grotto as well.

This former guest bedroom was transformed into a masculine home office. We used the abstract artwork as a jumping off point for the space, complimenting it with a geometric wallpaper. To warm the space, a walnut and black marble desk was used and coupled with a custom walnut and black stained oak bookshelf.

Built in 1929, this condo on 15th St NW near Logan Circle was originally constructed as a church. Here are some items shown in the photos that you may want to consider for your remodeling project: +The bathroom includes a new 400 pound cast iron tub. As you can see it was quite the effort hauling the tub up a flight of stairs. If you like long hot baths cast iron is the way to go as it's great at retaining heat. +A mounted medicine cabinet with SteroStik speakers on the sides for your bathroom. It's a great way to jump start your day with music or catch up on your news. +A double towel bar to maximize space. +A shower package that includes a fixed shower head and handheld. Designing virtually. The new owner of a recently expanded and remodeled home in East Downtown Albuquerque needed everything. The house was full of charm with it's original exposed beams and brick, but lacked everything else aside from a couple of pieces of art that the owner was bringing from her home base in Northern California. And it was 2020...so, the homeowner and I went room by room, creating spreadsheets, mood boards and shopping lists to outfit her new space, from furniture to forks...and all over email and phone. It was a blast! Melissa, the homeowner who has the most amazing taste in art, provided the perfect jumping off points from which I designed every room. The main living area's color scheme came from the purchase of a local artist's work 'Spring in New Mexico' by Mary Moore Bailey. This piece gave me huge inspiration to go big and bold with color. The master bedroom got the luxe treatment with high end linens from Matouk and vintage finds like a mid-century burlwood dresser and mirrored hollywood regency dressers. Pansies or Violas, whatever you want to call them, they are a true sign of spring. This photo shows the "Italian Ruffle" series, most folks are familiar with "Swiss Giants" and "Johnny-jump-ups", but they are all Violas. Some folks get them to reseed each year, need to be cleaned down the flower stem to encourage more buds and blooms.Lots of new series are being developed, but their smiling faces are definitely a sign of spring. Che Interiors worked closely with our client to plan, design, and implement a renovation of two children’s rooms, create a mudroom with laundry area in an unused downstairs space, renovate a kitchenette area, and create a home office space in a downstairs living room by adding floor to ceiling room dividers. As the children were growing so were their needs and we took this into account when planning for both kids’ rooms. As one child was graduating to a big kids room the other was moving into their siblings nursery. We wanted to update the nursery so that it became something new and unique to its new inhabitant. For this room we repurposed a lot of the furniture, repainted all the walls, added a striking outer-space whale wallpaper that would grow with the little one and added a few new features; a toddlers busy board with fun twists and knobs to encourage brain function and growth, a few floor mats for rolling around, and a climbing arch that could double as a artist work desk as the little grows. Downstairs we created a whimsical big kids room by repainting all the walls, building a custom bookshelf, sourcing the coolest toddler bed with trundle for sleepovers, featured a whimsical wonderland wallpaper, adding a few animal toy baskets, we sourced large monstera rugs, a toddlers table with chairs, fun colorful felt hooks and a few climbing foam pieces for jumping and rolling on. For the kitchenette, we worked closely with the General Contractor to repaint the cabinets, add handle pulls, and install new mudroom and laundry furniture. We carried the kitchenette green color to the bathroom cabinets and to the floor to ceiling room dividers for the home office space. Lastly we brought in an organization team to help de-clutter and create a fluid everything-has-its-place system that would make our client’s lives easier.

The best features of this loft were formerly obscured by its worst. While the apartment has a rich history—it’s located in a former bike factory, it lacked a cohesive floor plan that allowed any substantive living space. A retired teacher rented out the loft for 10 years before an unexpected fire in a lower apartment necessitated a full building overhaul. He jumped at the chance to renovate the apartment and asked InSitu to design a remodel to improve how it functioned and elevate the interior. We created a plan that reorganizes the kitchen and dining spaces, integrates abundant storage, and weaves in an understated material palette that better highlights the space’s cool industrial character.
