Located in, Summit Park, Park City UT lies one of the most efficient houses in the country. The Summit Haus – designed and built by Chris Price of PCD+B, is an exploration in design and construction of advanced high performance housing. Seeing a rising demand for sustainable housing along with rising Carbon emissions leading to global warming, this house strives to show that sensible, good design can create spaces adequate for today’s housing demands while adhering to strict standards. The house was designed to meet the very rigid Passiv House rating system – 90% more efficient than a typical home in the area.
The house itself was intended to nestle neatly into the 45 degree sloped site and to take full advantage of the limited solar access and views. The views range from short, highly wooded views to a long corridor out towards the Uinta Mountain range towards the east. The house was designed and built based off Passiv Haus standards, and the framing and ventilation became critical elements to maintain such minimal energy requirements.
Zola triple-pane, tilt-and-turn Thermo uPVC windows contribute substantially to the home’s energy efficiency, and takes advantage of the beautiful surrounding of the location, including forrest views from the deck off of the kitchen.

On your left upon entering is the sizeable and spacious walk-in closet, complete with adjustable shelves and cozy window bench. Polished chrome grab bars are strategically placed throughout the bathroom, an ADA height compliant toilet and custom height linen cabinet made mobility accessibility a key component for this project, yet no beauty was sacrificed to make this happen. This bathroom and closet are now the perfect pairing of both our clients’ desires in one charming sea blown setting.

Details of a space are the key components to bring it to life. Here is a timeless brass and glass coffee table that is functional and beautiful. The mid century media console perfectly blends clean lines with a great mixture of texture and color. Gray area rug grounds the space with pattern and color.

Viotti Architects combined the owner’s love of natural elements and passion for Yosemite’s Half Dome, El Capitan, with a nod to Eichler inspired architectural style. Another key component was to bring the outdoors in.
Featured materials include Cedar, Ledger stone, stucco, Cherry Custom cabinets, golden tones in stone, White Oak Natural floors. This home’s architectural style stands the test of time and transcends trends.

A new painted finish on the armoire allowed the various moulding changes. The cabinet exterior is painted in a special furniture finish paint from Benjamin Moore. "Advance" is the latex paint quality that performs like the old oil base finishes. I like to use a "Satin" sheen level. This is my favorite dark grey accent color called "Iron Mountain". The Turkish Tassle ties the varous colors together - picking up the gold wall color and the darker greys, and hangs on the antique key hardware on the upper doors. For continuity the cabinet interior was also painted "Iron Mountain" adding a top coat of black crackle finish, which allows the "Iron Mountain" base color to show through on the crackle areas. This is more interersting than having a complete black interior, but still works well with the black TV components.

Here is a list of some of the work we do. Foundation is a case by case situation that requires experts to analyze and assess what should be done to repair:
Remedial repairs of cracked, settled, shifted, rotated and/or deteriorated sections of concrete perimeter foundation walls. Any type of post/pier issues (shifted, deteriorated, cracked, settled, “over shimmed,” undersized, etc. Repair of wood damaged framing/structural components in the foundation system area.
Floor leveling performed on a case-by-case basis. In instances where a crawl space has debris in it that will limit our ability to perform any of the above tasks, we will also remove and haul away past debris that has been left in the space (we, of course, always remove all debris created during the course of our work).
Creating additional support systems in key locations of the foundation area to accommodate existing structural deficiencies and further protect your home.

This modern exterior LED wall pack was designed to optimize efficiency through heat dissipation and optical management. This LED wall pack provides an ideal wall wash lighting solution utilizing a fraction of the energy of traditional sources and requiring virtually no maintenance.

I chose Fisher and Paykel appliances for this kitchen remodel because of their high-end timeless style at a great price point. Since this location is near the city of San Francisco, I was aiming for an industrial look and loved the modern handles in this line which helped create that ambiance. A few key components of this design are the minimalist lines and the beautiful bold navy blue color of the cabinets, which went well with the sleek contemporary matte finish of the appliances.
The most important advice I give to clients is to make sure to have some kind of a design direction or concept in mind before starting any project. Good design is a marriage of form and function so don’t be afraid to try new things and mix and match styles that you wouldn’t think go together.

Located in a serene plot in Kittery Point, Maine, this gable-style conservatory was designed, engineered, and installed by Sunspace Design. Extending from the rear of the residence and positioned to capture picturesque views of the surrounding yard and forest, the completed glass space is testament to our commitment to meticulous craftsmanship.
Sunspace provided start to finish services for this project, serving as both the glass specialist and the general contractor. We began by providing detailed CAD drawings and manufacturing key components. The mahogany framing was milled and constructed in our wood shop. Meanwhile, we brought our experience in general construction to the fore to prepare the conservatory space to receive the custom glass roof components. The steel structural ridge beam, conventionally framed walls, and raised floor frame were all constructed on site. Insulated Andersen windows invite ample natural light into the space, and the addition of copper cladding ensures a timelessly elegant look.
Every aspect of the completed space is informed by our 40+ years of custom glass specialization. Our passion for architectural glass design extends beyond mere renovation; it encompasses the art of blending nature with refined architecture. Conservatories like these are harmonious extensions that bridge indoor living with the allure of the outdoors. We invite you to explore the transformative potential of glass by working with us to imagine how nature's beauty can be woven into the fabric of your home.
