Like most high rises in the city, this kitchen was lacking in square footage. To give the illusion of more space, super white cabinetry from Grabill Cabinet Company and Arabascato quartzite countertops were installed. Perfect for entertaining, dual peninsulas comfortably provide seating for four people. The multi-tiered ceiling provides both general task lighting & ambient cove lighting accentuating the architectural details in this kitchen. The Wolf induction cooktop and single oven, along with the Broan ventilation system, fit perfectly on limited available wall space. Neutral arabesque glass backsplash tile was used on the wall behind the hood to create an eye-catching focal point.

This major kitchen remodeling project in Palo Alto included opening up the kitchen and dining areas to create a more fluid and functional space, as well as replacing the central staircase. The kitchen base cabinets from the Aran Cucine’s Doga collection in Graphite with white and frosted glass upper cabinets. A ceiling mounted glass cabinet on stainless steel rods floats between the kitchen and dining areas and is integrated with an under cabinet light. The original kitchen was dark and lacked storage space. It was cut off from the rest of the house and needed an update. We removed the wall between the dining room and kitchen and bumped the kitchen out in the rear of the house. We created lots of storage, a new island with seating and added windows bringing in much needed natural light. The kitchen is now a hub of activity for the whole family.

Thse clients came to me for a kitchen refresh. Keeping the existing floor plan but updating as much as possible. After explaining my thoughts, they chose to go with a much larger project. The wall to the garage wash pushed bach 12" to allow for the island to happen. This almost couldn't happen as there is a support post in the garage we had to keep. I designed the last pantry area as on 10" deep, allowing us to conceal that behind the cabinets. Then, we opend up the wall to the dining room to make the rooms one large space. The wall to the family room was also openend up, leaving the half wall to allow for the kitchen eating area. They wanted to incorporate a bar area, without it feeling like a "bar" The fabulous tall custom unit houses their wine collection and then half of the dining room buffet area holds glassware and other bar items. I helped the clients with all of the design choices.We all wanted to keep the space classic, war, functional and with mixed materials. I chose to use the same countertop material for the backsplash, to keep the space feeling as large as possible.

The cabinets add interesting dimension to the room by bumping in and out to highlight the various aspects of the kitchen layout.

This gray and transitional kitchen remodel bridges the gap between contemporary style and traditional style. The dark gray cabinetry, light gray walls, and white subway tile backsplash make for a beautiful, neutral canvas for the bold teal blue and yellow décor accented throughout the design. Designer Gwen Adair of Cabinet Supreme by Adair did a fabulous job at using grays to create a neutral backdrop to bring out the bright, vibrant colors that the homeowners love so much. This Milwaukee, WI kitchen is the perfect example of Dura Supreme's recent launch of gray paint finishes, it has been interesting to see these new cabinetry colors suddenly flowing across our manufacturing floor, destined for homes around the country. The light wood finish beaded inset kitchen cabinets from Mouser set the tone for this bright transitional kitchen design in Cohasset. Inspiration for a transitional kitchen remodel in San Diego

For a client with an enthusiastic appreciation of retro design, this sunny ode to kitchens of the past is a cheerful and comforting retreat for today. The client wanted a kitchen that creatively expressed her fun, unconventional taste while providing all the modern conveniences of a contemporary home. Space was borrowed from an existing office to provide more open area and easier navigation in the kitchen. Bright, optimistic yellow sets the tone in the room, with retro-inspired appliances in buttery yellow chosen as key elements of the design. A generous apron-front farm sink gleams with clean white enameled cast iron and is outfitted with a rare retro faucet with spray and scrub brush attachments. Black trim against the yellow ceramic tile countertops defines the kitchen’s lines. Simple maple cabinetry painted white with black ceramic knobs provides a modern level of storage. Playful positioning of contrasting tiles on the floor presents a modern, quirky interpretation of the traditional checkerboard pattern in this classic kitchen with an original point of view.
