The striking design of the Lady Mary serves as a decorative sculpture even when it is not illuminated. The body and shade have a lacquer finish with opaque white stripes that allow the light to shine through when the lamp is lit. One style has stripes on both the shade and body and one style has stripes on only the shade. The lighted body and shade are made of rotationally molded of low-density polyethylene. It is resistant to all weather, UV and is 100% recyclable and has a high degree of strength and resistance to impacts. A 65W energy efficient bulb is included. The electrical cord 6.5’. The stand is made of iron and has a medium gray finish. The light turns on when you plug in the cord and turns off when you unplug the cord.

Buff subway tiles with darker grout form the kitchen back splash. For the kitchen's open shelving, we installed handmade artisan steel L supports and we kept the rough hewn "sawmill edge" of the thick hardwood shelves to soften the geometric lines and slick textures of the room's other elements. The slab door cabinets were designed and installed by Xylem Cabinets, Raleigh, NC. Existing alcoves in the kitchen area were made into a pantry with specialized spice shelves, and a desk/office nook with a butcher block desktop. Both are covered, when not in use, by large sliding wood panels. Crema Valentino granite was chosen for the counter tops and raised bar.
