New master suite exterior definition. An existing mid-century ranch was given a new lease on life with a whole house remodel and addition. An existing sunken living room had the floor raised and the front entry was relocated to make room for a complete master suite. The roof/ceiling over the entry and stair was raised with multiple clerestory lights introducing light into the center of the home. Finally, a compartmentalized existing layout was converted to an open plan with the kitchen/dining/living areas sharing a common area at the back of the home.

A classic city home basement gets a new lease on life. Our clients wanted their basement den to reflect their personalities. The mood of the room is set by the dark gray brick wall. Stuart Wade, Envision Virtual Tours Mountain Reflections on Lake Burton Recently renovated both inside and out, this 5 bedroom, 5.5 bath home with sweeping views of Lake Burton is fit for entertaining large crowds. Living room - transitional living room idea in Sydney

This historic home contains a carefully curated collection of the family's treasured antiques. The white kitchen beyond brings a fresh and updated look, giving the owners all of the modern kitchen amenities they wished for as well as an infusion of brightness. WKD’s experience in historic preservation and antique curation restored this gentleman’s farm into a casual, comfortable, livable home for the next chapter in this couple’s lives. The project included a new family entrance and mud room, new powder room, and opening up some of the rooms for better circulation. While WKD curated the client’s existing collection of art and antiques, refurbishing where necessary, new furnishings were also added to give the home a new lease on life. Inspiration for a coastal bathroom remodel in Los Angeles

This garden in Athens, GA needed a new lease of life. We re-designed and installed the backyard area, adding in the patio and pathway area to complement the existing structures. Shrubs and perennials were planted around to create a feeling of peaceful intimacy. Zoomworks

Trying to find a quiet corner in one's house for an office can be tough, but it also can be an adventure! Reworking spaces in our homes so that they work better for our families as they grow and change is something we all need to do from time to time-- and it can give your house a new lease on life. One room that took on a new identity in this old farmhouse was the third floor attic space--a room that is much like a treehouse with its small footprint, high perch, lofty views of the landscape, and sloping ceiling. The space has been many things over the past two decades- a bedroom, a guest room, a hang-out for kids... but NOW it is the 'world headquarters' for my client's business. :) Adding all the funky touches that make it a cozy personal space made all the difference...like lots of live green plants, vintage original artwork, architectural salvage window sashes, a repurposed and repainted dresser from the 1940's, and, of course, my client's favorite photos.
