The Lorraine Modern Residence is a fully integrated front and backyard project designed and built by The Northstone Group, the #1 landscape architecture, design-build, and custom pool construction firm in Montreal.
This contemporary modern home required a landscape approach that matched its architectural clarity while delivering long-term performance, precision detailing, and seamless indoor-outdoor flow. Every element of the project was designed and executed in-house by The Northstone Group’s team of landscape architects, builders, and pool specialists.
The backyard is anchored by a custom concrete pool, designed and built by Northstone’s in-house pool construction team. The pool features a beach entry for ease of use and resort-level comfort, as well as a refined waterfall edge that creates a clean visual transition between the water and surrounding landscape. These elements were engineered for durability, safety, and long-term performance, not just aesthetics.
The hardscape throughout the project includes architectural pavers selected to complement the home’s modern lines and neutral palette. These materials extend from the backyard into a custom paver driveway, creating a cohesive arrival experience and reinforcing the architectural language of the residence from the street.
Custom-built architectural planters were integrated into both the front and backyard to frame views, define circulation, and soften the hardscape while maintaining a contemporary, minimal aesthetic. Planting was intentionally restrained and structured, chosen to complement the modern architecture and perform reliably in Quebec’s climate.
An outdoor kitchen completes the backyard living space, positioned to support entertaining while preserving clean sightlines across the pool and landscape. The overall layout was designed to maximize usability, flow, and visual balance, ensuring the space functions as a true extension of the home.
With over 25 years of experience and a team of 180+ in-house professionals, The Northstone Group delivers landscape architecture, design-build services, and custom concrete pool construction under one roof. This integrated approach allows for precise coordination, consistent quality, and full accountability from concept through completion.

Complete Home Remodel + Addition
This San Marino home was taken down to the studs and completely reimagined. We added approximately 72 square feet in the primary bedroom to accommodate a new walk-in closet and larger bathroom, reconfigured the original hallway bath into two new bathrooms (a hallway bath + a kids' en suite), and removed select load-bearing walls to create a more open connection between the kitchen, dining, and living areas all while still maintaining defined spaces.
The home received all new electrical, plumbing, insulation, drywall, and flooring throughout, along with 23 new Andersen windows, relocated and upgraded mechanical systems, and a fresh exterior paint finish. A full top-to-bottom remodel designed for a growing family and long-term value.

Kyra Construction completed this 970 sq ft home addition in Los Angeles to improve comfort, flow, and long-term functionality. The project was planned with 3D design and managed from permits through construction and final finishes.
The addition included a new master bedroom and full master bathroom, while the existing home was upgraded with a kitchen expansion, laundry relocation, a new guest bathroom, and new flooring throughout the entire house. The result is a seamless expansion that modernized the home and added valuable, livable space.

This East Sacramento ADU garage conversion transforms a detached, underused backyard garage into a fully functional living space designed for long-term flexibility. Originally a 100-year-old structure used mainly for storage, the project was reimagined to better serve the homeowner’s growing family and provide a comfortable guest-ready space. The new layout includes a welcoming patio-style entry with large windows, a spacious bathroom, and a compact kitchenette—turning an aging outbuilding into valuable square footage with real everyday purpose.

This Seward Park residence was reimagined for a retired architect returning to Seattle, blending bold design with practical function. The remodel retained only the original foundation, reinforcing it to support a brand-new second story. Vaulted ceilings and a glass railing system give the home an airy, open feel filled with natural light.
Inside, modern upgrades include a chef’s kitchen with a 48” range, built-in refrigerator, and smart storage throughout. Floating vanities make bathrooms easy to maintain, while thoughtful finishes add everyday convenience. Outside, new retaining walls, pervious pavers, and gravel pits provide stormwater management and off-street parking—all while enhancing curb appeal.
The result is a modern, stylish home designed for comfortable living and long-term resilience.

This bathroom remodel blends timeless design with carefully considered details to create a space that feels both refined and highly functional. A clean, neutral foundation is paired with bold accents—most notably the deep blue custom cabinetry, which adds depth and contrast while maintaining a classic appeal.
The double vanity offers ample storage and symmetry, complemented by warm brass fixtures and soft lighting that create a balanced, inviting atmosphere. Large mirrors and layered lighting enhance brightness and openness throughout the space.
A standout feature is the custom shower, finished with textured tile that adds visual interest without overwhelming the design. The freestanding tub, positioned near expansive windows, brings in natural light and creates a calm, spa-like focal point.
Every element—from layout to material selection—was chosen to ensure long-term durability, comfort, and everyday usability. The result is a bathroom that feels elevated, cohesive, and built to stand the test of time.

Problem: Homeowners had a leak in their smelly, damp basement
Solution: Problem solved... and fresh, beautiful living spaces were created!
"The homeowners called us to fix a leak in their basement... which turned out to be a backed up drain, caused by a crack in an obsolete drain tile, and two leaks in their foundation... it sort of snowballed," says Bryan Ogle, owner of Ogle Construction and Maintenance Services.
With small children in the home, the couple decided to invest in solving the problem with a long-
term solution. They wanted to make the basement safe and comfortable for their young family.
After the drain tile was fixed, the entire area was reinsulated, and finished with new sheetrock, trim, carpet and lighting. The electrical system was updated and a new laundry room (with loads of storage), bedroom and family room were created in the space. What was once a damp, smelly basement (with a dehumidifier running constantly) is now a fresh, clean living space for the family to enjoy.

A new three-story home in Palo Alto featuring 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms, a formal living room and dining room, and a walk-in pantry. The home opens out to the front and back with large covered patios as well as a private balcony off the upstairs primary suite.
The basement level is 12 feet tall and brightly lit on all 4 sides by lightwells and below-grade patios. The bright basement features a large open rec room and bar, a music room, a home gym, as well as a long-term guest suite.

This custom table was crafted from natural stone to create a functional centerpiece that balances durability with refined design. Unlike traditional wood tables, stone offers a surface that is resistant to heat, moisture, scratching, and daily wear, making it ideal for high use spaces.
The solid stone construction provides long term performance without concerns of warping, staining, or finish breakdown over time. Its weight and stability give the table a grounded presence, while the natural movement of the stone adds character and visual interest that cannot be replicated with manufactured materials.
Designed with clean lines and a timeless profile, this table serves as both a practical surface and an architectural element within the space. Choosing stone over wood allows the table to maintain its appearance with minimal maintenance, delivering beauty and function that lasts for years.
This project highlights how custom stone furniture can elevate everyday living by combining craftsmanship, durability, and enduring style.
