We selected finishes with much care to keep in the styling and vintage of the home. For flooring we selected a wood grained and textured porcelain tile which emulates a warm feeling wood plank but with the practicality of easy maintenance and longevity. The porcelain flooring flows through the bathroom into a generously sized walk-in closet.

This clean and classic kitchen incorporates the current trends while keeping true to classic elements that will ensure this designs longevity. This kitchen infuses Calacatta marble counter-tops, brass light fixtures from
Circa Lighting, a custom designed social island made of chestnut, shaker style cabinets are from Spartina Cabinetry, fixtures from Moluf's Supply and Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances from Ferguson's.

The home's flooring is a combination of Blue Lagos Limestone in 12x24 and antique hard-wax oiled wood. Together these two selections create a time-worn look that showcases the character and longevity of natural resources.

This 1930’s gem did not have a functional, beautiful kitchen. In fact, many cabinets barely opened, and some appliances didn’t even work.
The top priority was to replace the cabinetry, appliances, and finishes in the main kitchen and butler’s pantry for better functionality. The original footprint was kept mostly intact, with only minor adjustments to improve flow, connectivity, and layout. Custom cabinetry was designed to enhance storage, and a suite of high-performance appliances was installed. Finishes like a herringbone tile floor and soapstone countertops were chosen for longevity and durability.
The secondary goal was to match the beauty of the rest of the home, with traditional elements, symmetry, and warmth. Details like fluting on the range hood and a unique corbel shape mirror original moldings. Stained oak accents were color-matched to the home’s existing woodwork. White oak cabinet interiors and custom inserts create a furniture-like feel.
The finished design blends seamlessly into the historic home, and also enhances functionality for day-to-day living, hosting, and gathering.

Our client desired a functional, tasteful, and improved environment to compliment their home. The overall goal was to create a landscape that was subtle and not overdone. The client was highly focused on their deck environment that would span across the rear of the house with an area for a Jacuzzi as well. A portion of the deck has a screened in porch due to the naturally buggy environment since the home is situated in the woods and a low area. A mosquito repellent injection system was incorporated into the irrigation system to help with the bug issue. We improved circulation of the driveway, increased the overall curb appeal of the entrance of the home, and created a scaled and proportional outdoor living environment for the clients to enjoy. The client has religious guidelines that needed to be adhered to with the overall function and design of the landscape, which included an arbor over the deck to support a Sukkah and a Green Egg smoker to cook Kosher foods. Two columns were added at the driveway entrance with lights to help define their driveway entrance since it's the end of a long pipe-stem. New light fixtures were also added to the rear of the house.
Our client desired multiple amenities with a limited budget, so everything had to be value engineered through the design and construction process. There is heavy deer pressure on the site, a mosquito issue, low site elevations, flat topography, poor soil, and overall poor drainage of the site. The original driveway was not sized appropriately and the front porch had structural issues, as well as leaked water onto the landing below. The septic tank was also situated close to the rear of the house and had to be contemplated during the design process.

The Owners approached me to redesign their existing home and transform it from what they considered a “4” to an “8 or 9” on a scale of 1 to 10 in terms of the quality of design. This transformation included the spatial volumes, the natural light, the views, the details, the finishes & materials, the fixtures & equipment and the basic layout.
The entrance to the home has a new covered porch with articulated steel columns and a wood beamed ceiling and a new oak and bronze front door. An interior entry hall links the Family Room, Kitchen and a new glass enclosed Dining Room on one end and the Master Bedroom suite at the other end. Behind the wall of the Entry Hallis a Living Room and a glass walled Wine Room that has a common wall with Entry Hall. A new dormer window over the Entry Hall providesa tall ceiling and natural light to this entry. The existing stair that extended down into an awkward central living room was reoriented to serve the house better. The new stair is a switch back stair that does not impact the area of the living room. This stair has a new dormer window above the landing to bring natural light into the stair hall. The kitchen, pantry and Family Room were completely redesignedwith new cabinets, appliances, and finishes. A new steel moment frame was installed in the end wall of the Family Room allowing this wall to open up to a new glass enclosed Dining Room. This room has large four panel bi-parting sliding glass doors that open up to an existing pool and views the vineyards beyond
Part of this redesign included moving the master bedroom from the second floor down to the ground floor. The master bedroom was relocated at the end of the house along with a new master bathroom and master closet. A new outdoor spa with a shaded trellis above is accessed from the bathroom. Sliding panels can provide privacy for this spa when desired. A covered outdoor shower is accessed from the indoor shower. The outdoor shower also connects to the spa area. A new stone walled sitting area links directly to the Master Bedroom and is covered with a new trellis with woven willow panels.
The second floor consists of two bedrooms each with their own bathroom. One bedroom has a small kitchenette and an exterior entry stair that can serve as a separate unit for a housekeeper or visitor. A large terrace that serves both bedrooms has a trellis with woven willow above. This terrace is located above the Dining Room.
The existing stone veneer had its mortar set way back that emphasized each individual stone and not the whole stone wall as one entity. To make it more wall like the mortar was pulled out to be face flush with the stone. This change transformed the overall look of the house.
The existing house had been renovated house in several stages over the years. First a one story with flat roofs, later new sloped roofs built directly on top of the flat roof without removing the old roof. A second story addition was later added with sloping roofs. During the renovation, all of the roofs over the one story portion were removed to create all new volumes within the major rooms. Skylights were added over the Living Room, the laundry Room and the Master Bathroom. A new dormer was added over the entry hall to bring in natural light and create more dramatic Entry Hall. All interior walls removed, exterior doors and windows were removed leaving only openings. Precast door and window surrounds and quoins at the corners were removed and replaced with stone corners and precast concrete lintels. A new rectilinear opening into the second floor bathroom was added in place of a round window. All plumbing, fixtures, lighting fixtures, HVAC units were replaced. A new audio/visual system and a new central vacuum system were installed throughout the house.

Another awesome kitchen completion. Starting with the floor using a three tile pattern of 18"x18", 12"x12", and 6"x6". The backplash is a 3"x12" Crema Luna Limestone with Crema Luna 2"x12 Chairrail, 1"x1 Glass Accent, 1"x12 Crema Luna Pencil Liner and on the inside of the frame 6"x6" Crema Luna.

After several years on the remodeling to-do list, the homeowners decided to update to add a sense of style to their half-bath/laundry and called the Renovisions team in to help create their vision for this space. The main goal was to provide a clean, open and inviting feel, while adding a nice balance of texture and interest.
Upon a few visits to the Renovisions showroom, to discuss a suitable style, the final CAD design was approved and de-construction began. A new double-hung window replaced the old window, and measurements were taken for the new painted wood shutters. Out with the existing tile flooring, vanity, drop-in sink, toilet and outdated wall cabinets over laundry pair and window. In with the stylish, now taller shaker style vanity in stunning blue-green paint color. Pretty quartz countertop with under mount sink, and energy efficient comfort height toilet. The white subway wall tiles provide a classic look with timeless appeal fabulous with black porcelain floor tiles and contrasting light grey grout. Black and white provides a more dramatic look without compromising the rooms longevity.
Overall. The client is thrilled with the simple and fresh look of her now more interesting and stylish bath/laundry room. The vintage industrial design with stylish mini pendant light fixtures with clear seedy glass shades in old bronze finish is a perfect addition to this newly remodeled space and ties in nicely with the oil rubbed bronze hardware and accessories.
“The bathroom is SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL…….floor, tile, vanity, countertop, cabinets, lighting, and the faucet….I could not be more pleased!!!!!!” - Susan M. (Hanover)

The only thing this Lincoln Park home was missing was a sprawling double decker outdoor space. A two tier combination Azek / Trex deck was designed and built by Catalyst Remodeling. White arts and crafts style pilasters, paired with the dark espresso finished composite decking gave this space a striking visual presence to be envied by all their neighbors.

Quality materials are important to the longevity of your bathroom vanity. Cheap vanities made with particle board or MDF tend to sag, warp, split, discolor, and expand over time. This is especially true in humid climates, such as the environment found in a normal bathroom. Since bathroom humidity is so common, bathroom vanities need to be extremely durable. They also need to be strong enough to endure lots of usage-based wear and tear. Vanities are typically made of MDF, birch, rubberwood, or natural oak. Generally, MDF is approximately 30 % the quality of oak, birch is 50% the quality of oak, and rubberwood is typically 90% the quality of oak, where "quality" is defined as the strength, integrity, and durability of the material. Solid oak is without question the strongest, most durable, and most resilient of all vanity materials. Only the highest-quality and best made vanities are manufactured from natural oak.
