The entrance and commercial lobby of this building had to be restored to its iconic art deco luster. The design-build project kept within the Gatsby-style tiered ceilings, quintessential 1930s lighting fixtures, the sweeping curved staircase, elevator lobby, and decorative marble flooring. In respecting its origin a new mailbox and refined wainscot corridor walls were added to mimic that time period.

Jennifer and Raymond had found it at an estate sale during the time that they were building their home. They bought it for a song, and years later were shocked when they had it appraised. "This is by far one of the best scores I have ever come across!" Jennifer exclaims. While the openness of the space works perfectly with the couple's lifestyle, there are changes ahead for surfaces and cabinetry. "Because of the color palette in the house, it no longer works with anything else," Jennifer explains. "It's only 14 years old, but time has changed and its time is up!" The attic in this Victorian seaside house was massively renovated to make a guest room that takes full advantage of all the roof lines and dormers. The fir matchboard ceilings and hickory floors make this space old and new at the same time. In other words, timeless!
