From natural quartzite countertops that mimic mountain ranges to silky metallic accent tiles behind the bathtub, this project does not shy away from unique stone finds and accents. Amy Troute Inspired Interior Design partnered with the Woodhill Homes and Sunriver build teams in 2022 to curate two interior finish packages and the exterior palette for Forestbrook, a stunning master planned vacation rental neighborhood within Central Oregon’s Caldera Springs community. The property, nestled among towering Ponderosa pines, will eventually welcome over 70 customized vacation homes. Our High Desert Retreat is our first fully furnished Forestbrook home - a getaway for our clients and their family and a year-round vacation rental. The owners call Arizona home, and that warm desert palette inspired the aesthetic of their new retreat. Area rugs with rich earth tones ground each space and provide color and texture for bedding, artwork and upholstery. The great room windows are the signature of each Forestbrook home, and our furnishings pull the greens and rusts from the landscape, drawing you in. The kitchen’s warm woods and classic surfaces welcome the family chef, and inside those cabinets is every utensil, plate, pot, pan, and tool they’ll ever need. The primary and main guest bedrooms are outfitted with luxurious layers of bedding that are easy to clean and turn over between stays. The upstairs bonus space welcomes kids of all ages with four adult-friendly bunk beds and a queen sofa bed. Chess anyone? Forestbrook homes each offer an efficient, yet fully outfitted ADU that can be rented separately or with the rest of the home. With a king bed, desk, comfortable sofa, well equipped kitchenette, and dining space, guests will feel right at home! Completed in 2011, this home is designed for a steeply sloping urban lot in Vienna, Virginia. In response to a tight zoning code that limited the building's footprint, we designed a compact plan that rises 3 stories and draws inspiration from the historic character of this small town consistently rated as one of the best places to live and work. Utilizing our favorite Great Room Scheme, the main level is planned with a classic front porch, 2-story entry hall, formal dining room, Kitchen/Breakfast area, large Mud Room with separate entrance and, finally, the Great Room itself. The lower level is the Entertainment hub of the house and contains a guest suite, shop, exercise area, family room and play area with wet bar. Upstairs, 3 kid's bedrooms, 2 full baths, laundry area, Master Suite with large sleeping area and a 5 piece master bath with large walk-in closet are all efficiently arranged to maximize room size. Our clients were interested in a very expressive exterior formalism while staying within the traditional architectural norm of Vienna. We responded with a series of gable dormers, bay windows and a hexagonal sitting room clad with complimentary siding materials and bold colors. Eventually, the back of the structure will be finished out with a large deck at the main level and elaborate staircase that descends to the rear yard.

Current Master Bathroom is very outdated. Client wanted to create a spa feel and keeping it mid century modern style as the rest of their home. The bathroom is small so a spacious feeling was important. There is a window they wanted to focus on. A walk in shower a must that eventually would accomodate an easy walk in. I gave them 3 options with the Realistic rendering being the final choice. Keeping Plumbing in current location was very important

North Shore Residence VIII. Should I stay or should I go? This beautiful, loving family moved into their suburban home when their kids were toddlers and forged friendships and a strong connection to their neighborhood. The time came when they were faced with the decision and the question, “Do we invest in and renovate our kitchen and master suite, or do we move?” These clients were my second, and have been with me since day one. They called upon me to redecorate their dining room and family room 7 years ago, and we met and talked several times weighing the pros and cons of investing in their home or investing in a move. Ultimately, they decided to stay, and here is a glimpse into what we created together with their architect and builder. Their home has a traditional lay out with a kitchen that connects to the dining room. We purposely designed the dining room to have an inviting, casual yet elegant aesthetic 7 years ago…..a dining room that could also function as a family kitchen table, a homework space, a cozy and also generously proportioned shabbat dinner invite the neighbors over space, and would eventually welcome an updated kitchen. Our client contemplated replacing their existing kitchen wood floor with tile, but we decided to preserve and refinish the wood floor to add continuity and warmth to the entire first floor. Because the kitchen was adjacent to the dining room, and not to the family room, changing the floor to tile would have created a fragmented feeling, and our goal was to create cohesiveness. Because the kitchen opens to the outdoor living space and swimming pool, wood is not typically ideal with wet slippery feet, but we went for it, and they are happy we did! We are mixed metal fans, and love to play with scale. Behold the voluptuous island pendants, chunky island countertop, satin bras modern hex pulls and knobs, and a combo of cerused white perimeter flat panel cabinets with a gray shaker island. Our client desired to conceal the clutter, so the walk in pantry and appliance garages came into play. The open floating shelves above the “desert bar” add visual interest and a place for family photos. We added a home office/man cave for the hubby and a dreamy walk in closet for the wifey along with an upstairs laundry room and zen spa master bath complete with a steam shower, water closet that allows for TV viewing from the vanity mirror, a soaking tub, and a coffee bar by creating a dormering the ceiling above the garage and converting attic space. Dating to the early 20th century, Craftsmen houses originated in southern California and quickly spread throughout the country, eventually becoming one of the early 20th century’s most beloved architectural styles. Holbrooke features Craftsman quality and Shingle style details and suits today’s homeowners who have vintage sensibilities as well as modern needs. Outside, wood shingles, dovecote, cupola, large windows and stone accents complement the front porch, which welcomes with attractive trim and columns. Step inside, the 1,900-square-foot main level leading from the foyer into a spacious 17-foot living room with a distinctive raised ceiling leads into a spacious sun room perfect for relaxing at the end of the day when work is done. An open kitchen and dining area provide a stylish and functional workspace for entertaining large groups. Nearby, the 900-square-foot three-car garage has plenty of storage for lawn equipment and outdoor toys. The upstairs has an additional 1,500 square feet, with a 17 by 17-foot private master suite with a large master bath and two additional family bedrooms with bath. Recreation rules in the 1,200-square-foot lower level, with a family room, 500-square-foot home theater, exercise/play room and an 11-by-14 guest bedroom for family and friends.

This beautiful large master bathroom features Starmark cabinets in the Bridgeport door with a paprika stain finish for are both the double sink vanity and the side vanity areas. The countertop was provided by the customer it is a Persa slab. This master bathroom has a his and hers sink combination with Kohler Archer undermount sinks and Moen Voss wallmount faucets. The floor is heated with Suntouch with a Sun Stat Pro thermostat and Bedrosian Stone fire Beiege in 18 x 18. In the shower they installed steam mist Generator and LED waterproof can lights. The shower enclosure is custom built. The tile on the shower wall and inside the two niches' is Bedrosian Stone fire Beige tile in 12 x 12 and the decorative strip was provided by the home owner.
