We are thrilled to introduce 612 Gravers Lane, a veritable ~jewelbox~ in an ideal walk-to everything Wyndmoor location. Originally built in 1900, this classic 20th century farmhouse was comprehensively renovated and expanded by Cherokee Construction in 1997, in the finest fashion, sparing no expense. Beautifully sited on a manageable .31 acres, the exquisite landscape plan was designed and installed by Gale Nurseries. The first floor features a brightly lit, gracious floor plan with coveted architectural details, millwork and voluminous ceilings. Enter a gracious center hall, formal living room and dining room to your left, cozy library your right. Gourmet kitchen and generous breakfast room with fireplace and butlers pantry. The adjacent family room and mudroom complete the scene. Upstairs, in addition to a spacious, light-filled master suite, two additional en suite bedrooms and laundry. The third floor offers an amazing guest suite, bath with sitting area and plenty of space for home office. Finished lower level, just waiting for gym and media room and an abundance of storage. 4 bedrooms/3.1 baths - Detached 2 car garage. Outside, beautifully designed trellises adorn a large flagstone terrace that will simply knock you out, creating an extremely private setting within walking distance to both Wyndmoor and Chestnut Hill villages and trains to Center City.

This open-concept kitchen blends classic elegance with a touch of coastal vibrancy. Crisp white cabinetry is paired with a bold blue island, creating a striking focal point while maintaining balance through warm wood accents and brass hardware. The spacious island doubles as a prep station and casual dining space, with woven counter stools adding texture and a laid-back feel. Geometric pendant lights and layered brass fixtures introduce a hint of glamour, while a soft hex backsplash provides subtle depth. With ample storage, high-end appliances, and a natural flow into the dining area, this kitchen is both inviting and highly functional—a perfect space for family gatherings and everyday living.

Before the renovation, the kitchen featured white perimeter cabinetry, a large island with a dark granite countertop, and a simple painted island exterior. The existing surfaces lacked the contrast and decorative detailing introduced through the new quartz countertops, navy cabinetry, and slat panel treatment.

The transformation of this ranch-style home in Carlsbad, CA, exemplifies a perfect blend of preserving the charm of its 1940s origins while infusing modern elements to create a unique and inviting space. By incorporating the clients' love for pottery and natural woods, the redesign pays homage to these preferences while enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal and functionality of the home. From building new decks and railings, surf showers, a reface of the home, custom light up address signs from GR Designs Line, and more custom elements to make this charming home pop.
The redesign carefully retains the distinctive characteristics of the 1940s style, such as architectural elements, layout, and overall ambiance. This preservation ensures that the home maintains its historical charm and authenticity while undergoing a modern transformation. To infuse a contemporary flair into the design, modern elements are strategically introduced. These modern twists add freshness and relevance to the space while complementing the existing architectural features. This balanced approach creates a harmonious blend of old and new, offering a timeless appeal.
The design concept revolves around the clients' passion for pottery and natural woods. These elements serve as focal points throughout the home, lending a sense of warmth, texture, and earthiness to the interior spaces. By integrating pottery-inspired accents and showcasing the beauty of natural wood grains, the design celebrates the clients' interests and preferences. A key highlight of the redesign is the use of custom-made tile from Japan, reminiscent of beautifully glazed pottery. This bespoke tile adds a touch of artistry and craftsmanship to the home, elevating its visual appeal and creating a unique focal point. Additionally, fabrics that evoke the elements of the ocean further enhance the connection with the surrounding natural environment, fostering a serene and tranquil atmosphere indoors.
The overall design concept aims to evoke a warm, lived-in feeling, inviting occupants and guests to relax and unwind. By incorporating elements that resonate with the clients' personal tastes and preferences, the home becomes more than just a living space—it becomes a reflection of their lifestyle, interests, and identity.
In summary, the redesign of this ranch-style home in Carlsbad, CA, successfully merges the charm of its 1940s origins with modern elements, creating a space that is both timeless and distinctive. Through careful attention to detail, thoughtful selection of materials, rebuilding of elements outside to add character, and a focus on personalization, the home embodies a warm, inviting atmosphere that celebrates the clients' passions and enhances their everyday living experience.

The renovation introduced a two-tone cabinet palette, with white upper cabinets and soft gray base cabinets from J&K Cabinetry in a full overlay, shaker-style construction. This combination lightened the room considerably while adding visual depth compared to the original single-tone dark wood. MSI Calacatta Laza quartz countertops replaced the black granite-look surface throughout, their soft veining brightening the counters and island top.

Blending natural and modern aesthetics, this bathroom renovation seamlessly combines organic and transitional designs. The vanity exudes a warm and unique charm, while a sleek quartz countertop introduces a contemporary element. The shower showcases natural stone tiles, creating a soothing spa-like ambiance, further enhanced by a rainfall showerhead and earth-toned pebble flooring.

This bathroom feels like quiet luxury with warm, organic textures, very elevated but not flashy.
The overall Style is Transitional with a soft contemporary edge. This primary bathroom feels calm, layered, and intentionally neutral, spa-like but with richness. A refined mix of rich walnut cabinetry, Taj mahal stone, and soft brass accents creates a space that feels both timeless and elevated.
The custom fluted vanity in deep walnut brings texture and craftsmanship, while the thick mitered stone countertop and full-height backsplash add quiet drama. Wall-mounted brass faucets keep the lines clean and architectural, complemented by a graceful arched mirror that softens the space and adds a subtle statement.
In the shower, vertically stacked neutral tile enhances the height of the room, paired with recessed stone niches for seamless functionality. A frameless glass enclosure maintains openness, allowing the warm brass fixtures to shine. The sculptural Kohler Japanese soaking tub and floor-mounted tub filler introduce a spa-like moment, balanced by natural textures and thoughtful styling.
Every detail was chosen to stay within a cohesive warm palette, layered neutrals, organic materials, and tailored finishes, creating a bathroom that feels serene, sophisticated, and effortlessly luxurious.

By utilizing an unused bedroom, these homeowners gained a large walk in closet, and sitting area. Big enough to introduce a 3 sided fireplace. A daring mix of finishes, woods, & textures paid off. Cabinetry ranges from high gloss PET, textured faux wood, and even knotty alder. Floating night stands where continued up the walls to frame a one of a kind headboard. Glossy closet cabinets shouts luxury. By using Cambria quartz in a Minera design as a counter top, tub deck & shower sills, all those different cabinet styles were brought harmoniously together. Gorgeous.

Our client came to us looking to transform their outdated bathroom into a space that felt both modern and in harmony with the rest of their home. The existing materials and layout were no longer working—visually or functionally—so we set out to reimagine the entire space.
To create a more cohesive look with the rest of the home, we installed wood-tone wall tiles, bringing warmth and a natural aesthetic to the bathroom. For contrast and a clean, elevated look, we paired them with Calacatta-style porcelain floor tiles, adding brightness and visual depth to the space.
We updated the shower area with a matte black shower system and matching hardware, introducing a sleek and modern edge. The bathtub was removed and replaced with a walk-in shower, which we enhanced with a built-in bench—offering both comfort and practicality. To add further contrast and detail, we selected a hexagon tile pattern for the shower floor, complementing the overall design while subtly standing out.
To improve daily functionality, we added drawer storage to the vanity, increasing organization potential without sacrificing style. The outdated plain glass mirror was replaced with a backlit LED mirror with an anti-fog feature, offering both better lighting and a cleaner look.
Behind the door, we built pantry-style cabinetry, maximizing storage in an often-overlooked space. At the client's request, we also removed the old heated flooring, which was no longer desired.
For water pressure and shower experience, we installed a 2.5 GPM shower system, tailored to the homeowner’s preferences. Finally, we enclosed the shower with a custom frameless glass door and tied everything together with matte black finishes throughout.
The end result is a serene, stylish, and fully modernized bathroom tailored to the client's taste—warm yet contemporary, practical yet beautiful. We’re thrilled with the transformation and wish our client many relaxing days ahead in their new space!

This shower embodies a modern transitional style with subtle spa-inspired and coastal influences. Large-format neutral tiles create a clean, seamless backdrop that feels both timeless and contemporary. A soft blue and white wave accent band introduces gentle movement and a hint of coastal character without overpowering the space. The frameless glass enclosure with exposed sliding hardware adds a sleek, modern touch while keeping the design visually open and airy. Brushed brass fixtures and grab bars provide warmth and continuity, balancing the cooler tones of the tile. The vertical multi-shelving niche offers both practical storage and an architectural focal point, enhancing the custom feel of the shower. Altogether, the design feels refined, functional, and serene, blending elegance with everyday usability.

The primary bedroom embraces a quiet, luxurious palette through rich walnut millwork, a custom integrated headboard, and soft, layered textures. A floating nightstand with a natural stone top and sculptural lighting adds a refined, boutique-hotel feel, while the hand-finished wall treatment introduces depth and warmth. The result is a serene retreat designed to feel intimate, calming, and effortlessly sophisticated.

This transitional master bathroom exudes elegance with its herringbone-patterned floor that adds a sophisticated touch. Ceramic panels in the shower provide a sleek, modern backdrop, complemented by frameless glass that enhances the sense of openness. Matte gold metal finishes lend a warm, contemporary charm, while antique mirror glass cabinet inserts introduce a hint of vintage allure. The freestanding tub serves as a luxurious focal point, and the barn door adds a rustic touch, seamlessly blending with the space. Ample storage ensures both style and practicality, making this bathroom a perfect retreat.

This addition and extensive interior renovation optimizes front and rear river views, natural light and indoor / outdoor integration. The use of craftsman detailing – adding a front porch – makes this home naturally inviting, functional and extremely livable.
The design was challenged due to the waterfront lot restrictions, lot coverage restrictions (car port instead of garage), slope stability challenges and septic restrictions (only 15% of existing footprint was allowed). The rear eating area / sunroom addition was built on pillars to achieve septic clearances. The second storey addition utilized sloped ceilings, which finished at 10 ft. in order to create spacial volume. Open to below areas allow more sunlight in and help achieve square footage requirements. The carport helped meet lot coverage restrictions, but more importantly, helped lessen the environmental impact. Driveways and walkways feature natural stone for water runoff.
The home exceeded the design objectives by maintaining formal entertaining, by eliminating walls and organizing spaces, creating comfortable family areas and by introducing natural light throughout the home.
