A 1940's cottage home, tucked away on a quiet cul-de-sac was ready for a main bathroom update. The owner wanted updated and fresh while paying homage to the home's original style. The use of classic 3x6 subway tile and hexagon terrazzo porcelain tiles on the floor achieved this goal.

I was hired to buy all the furniture and accessories, bring them in and place them so that the owners who lived abroad could rent this condo out furnished. This included pots and pans, towels, cutlery etc. Everything so that the renter could move right in. It was challenging but the result was rewarding. Our clients wanted the design to be refined at the same time, we wanted to maintain a rustic, mountainous feel to pay homage to the beautiful surroundings of this mountain home. Our clients wanted a statement-making powder room so we used a gorgeous, copper vessel sink and installed wood shiplap on the walls. This kitchen renovation pays homage the features of this 1947 mid-century modern home by preserving the original African Mahogany cabinets while incorporating updated storage feature and appliances. The flooring is a period appropriate true linoleum installed in a custom plaid pattern that beautifully pairs with the whimsical original backsplash tile.

This is our Deus™ Entrada Xtreme Frameless Door, Panel, Return panel notched for tub deck. Glass is 1/2″ thick with chrome plated solid brass wall mount hinges for an outswing door. This Frameless Glass Enclosure is designed for a “curbless” shower stall application. While curbless applications are becoming more and more popular there are a few things to pay attention to. One of the most important things on a curbless design is to make sure that the glass enclosure is designed to sit either on the joint where the pitch of the floor or well on the pitched floor. Important not to be on the flat part of the floor above where the pitch begins. Another thing to look out for is to make sure that the floor area that the door will swing past is level and not accidentally going up. If the floor does go up where the door swings out, the door may begin to contact the floor and bind or even create a dangerous situation.

This home underwent a massive renovation. Walls were removed, some replaced with stunning archways. A mid-century modern vibe took over, inspiring the white oak floos, white and oak cabinetry throughout, terrazzo tiles and overall vibe. Our whimiscal side, wanting to pay homage to the clients meditteranean roots, and their desire to entertain as much as possible, found amazing vintage-style tiles to incorporate into the laundry room along with a terrazzo floor tile. The living room boasts built-ins, a huge porcelain slab that echos beach/ocean views and artwork that establishes the client's love of beach moments. A dining room focussed on dinner parties includes an innovative wine storage wall, two hidden wine fridges and enough open cabinetry to display their growing collection of glasses. To enhance the space, a stunning blue grasscloth wallpaper anchors the wine rack, and the stunning gold bulbous chandelier glows in the space. Custom dining chairs and an expansive table provide plenty of seating in this room. The primary bathroom echoes all of the above. Watery vibes on the large format accent tiles, oak cabinetry and a calm, relaxed environment are perfect for this luxe space.

Inquire About Our Design Services When we first started talking in the spring of 2015, I was impressed. She was witty, realistic, and understood that as much as she loves my shows on HGTV, design does not does not happen in 43 minutes! She told me about her space, and how she felt that her bedroom seemed “blah” to her. She had no retreat. Molly desperately longed for a place that she could spend time in, read in, play in and above all, relax in. What we did: Many people are terrified of hiring a designer. Rightfully so, they are investing a pretty penny in their homes. They want to make sure that everything, down to the last floral arrangement, is to their liking, because they will have to live it (and pay for it). Unfortunately, a client can unintentionally stifle a designer’s creativity through micro-management. This can produce lackluster results and ultimately cause more time (and money) to be spent on a project than is really necessary. With Molly, that was never an issue. Before she even showed me the room in question, she said that I could have full creative license to do what I needed to do to her bedroom. SAY WHAAH!? With Molly giving me complete creative freedom, I planned everything out and got down to business. The result: Bite-your-bottom-lip sexy. I don’t get jealous of too many of my clients’ spaces, but this one still takes my breath away every time I look at the pics! The craziest part was that by adding more furniture, it actually made the space feel larger. Molly and her husband Patrick loved the finished space, and promised me I will be back to finish the rest of the house! Here’s the highlights of the rest of the project: I came up with a space plan with three options. Next, we reviewed mood boards and fabric schemes that would work for both Molly and her hubby Patrick. We started with the bed. My goal was to add edge to its otherwise traditional style. We decided to spice things up by painting the trim work in the room black. We built in layers of lighting with dimmers. In a bedroom everything should be on dimmers, right? Right. We designed and customized bedding, chairs and window treatments. Together with Molly, we selected the most perfect wallpaper. This geometric “grasscloth” adds so much depth and dimension that was just missing before. What I love: That light fixture. I mean it is really, really amazing in person. The porcupine mirror. This thing came packaged like it was the hope diamond, and everyone was terrified to handle it. But it really became a highlight of the room.

Every inch of this 4,200-square-foot condo on Las Olas—two units combined into one inside the tallest building in Fort Lauderdale—is dripping with glamour, starting right away in the entrance with Phillip Jeffries’ Cloud wallpaper and crushed velvet gold chairs by Koket. Along with tearing out some of the bathrooms and installing sleek and chic new vanities, Laure Nell Interiors outfitted the residence with all the accoutrements that make it perfect for the owners—two doctors without children—to enjoy an evening at home alone or entertaining friends and family. On one side of the condo, we turned the previous kitchen into a wet bar off the family room. Inspired by One Hotel, the aesthetic here gives off permanent vacation vibes. A large rattan light fixture sets a beachy tone above a custom-designed oversized sofa. Also on this side of the unit, a light and bright guest bedroom, affectionately named the Bali Room, features Phillip Jeffries’ silver leaf wallpaper and heirloom artifacts that pay homage to the Indian heritage of one of the owners. In another more-moody guest room, a Currey and Co. Grand Lotus light fixture gives off a golden glow against Phillip Jeffries’ dip wallcovering behind an emerald green bed, while an artist hand painted the look on each wall. The other side of the condo took on an aesthetic that reads: The more bling, the better. Think crystals and chrome and a 78-inch circular diamond chandelier. The main kitchen, living room (where we custom-surged together Surya rugs), dining room (embellished with jewelry-like chain-link Yale sconces by Arteriors), office, and master bedroom (overlooking downtown and the ocean) all reside on this side of the residence. And then there’s perhaps the jewel of the home: the powder room, illuminated by Tom Dixon pendants. The homeowners hiked Machu Picchu together and fell in love with a piece of art on their trip that we designed the entire bathroom around. It’s one of many personal objets found throughout the condo, making this project a true labor of love.

You enter this bright and light master bathroom through a custom pocket door that is inlayed with a mirror. The room features a beautiful free-standing tub. The shower is Carrera marble and has a seat, storage inset, a body jet and dual showerheads. The striking single vanity is a deep navy blue with beaded inset cabinets, chrome handles and provides tons of storage. Along with the blue vanity, the rose gold fixtures, including the shower grate, are eye catching and provide a subtle pop of color. What started as an addition project turned into a full house remodel in this Modern Craftsman home in Narberth, PA.. The addition included the creation of a sitting room, family room, mudroom and third floor. As we moved to the rest of the home, we designed and built a custom staircase to connect the family room to the existing kitchen. We laid red oak flooring with a mahogany inlay throughout house. Another central feature of this is home is all the built-in storage. We used or created every nook for seating and storage throughout the house, as you can see in the family room, dining area, staircase landing, bedroom and bathrooms. Custom wainscoting and trim are everywhere you look, and gives a clean, polished look to this warm house. Magnolia takes the idea of indoor and outdoor living to a new level. The entire first floor of the residence is built on two sides of an outdoor entertainment lanai which features a summer kitchen for grilling and loads of space. An open plan kitchen, dining, and family room are on one side of the lanai and a large detached game/play room with separate bath is on the other side of the lanai. The game/play room has 90 degree, floor to ceiling stacking doors which pocket into the wall cavity making the game/pay room completely open to the lanai. The master bedroom and master bathroom, 100 square foot loft, and two additional bedrooms with a hall bath and laundry room comprise the entire second floor. A side entry, three car garage is attached to the front of the house which helps to define the courtyard entry. We took on the kitchen, two bathrooms and a powder room. The layout in the kitchen was functional for them, so we kept that pretty much as is. Our client wanted a contemporary-leaning transitional look — nice clean lines with a gray and white palette. Light gray cabinets with a slightly darker gray subway tile keep the northern exposure light and airy. They also purchased some new furniture for their breakfast room and adjoining family room, so the whole space looks completely styled and new. The light fixtures are staggered and give a nice rhythm to the otherwise serene feel. The homeowners were not 100% sold on the flooring choice for little powder room off the kitchen when I first showed it, but now they think it is one of the most interesting features of the design. I always try to “push” my clients a little bit because that’s when things can get really fun and this is what you are paying for after all, ideas that you may not come up with on your own. We also worked on the two upstairs bathrooms. We started first on the hall bath which was basically just in need of a face lift. The floor is porcelain tile made to look like carrera marble. The vanity is white Shaker doors fitted with a white quartz top. We re-glazed the cast iron tub. The master bath was a tub to shower conversion. We used a wood look porcelain plank on the main floor along with a Kohler Tailored vanity. The custom shower has a barn door shower door, and vinyl wallpaper in the sink area gives a rich textured look to the space. Overall, it’s a pretty sophisticated look for its smaller fooprint.
