This home had a generous master suite prior to the renovation; however, it was located close to the rest of the bedrooms and baths on the floor. They desired their own separate oasis with more privacy and asked us to design and add a 2nd story addition over the existing 1st floor family room, that would include a master suite with a laundry/gift wrapping room. We added a 2nd story addition without adding to the existing footprint of the home. The addition is entered through a private hallway with a separate spacious laundry room, complete with custom storage cabinetry, sink area, and countertops for folding or wrapping gifts. The bedroom is brimming with details such as custom built-in storage cabinetry with fine trim mouldings, window seats, and a fireplace with fine trim details. The master bathroom was designed with comfort in mind. A custom double vanity and linen tower with mirrored front, quartz countertops and champagne bronze plumbing and lighting fixtures make this room elegant. Water jet cut Calcatta marble tile and glass tile make this walk-in shower with glass window panels a true work of art. And to complete this addition we added a large walk-in closet with separate his and her areas, including built-in dresser storage, a window seat, and a storage island. The finished renovation is their private spa-like place to escape the busyness of life in style and comfort. These delightful homeowners are already talking phase two of renovations with us and we look forward to a longstanding relationship with them.

A cramped and partitioned primary bathroom gets a facelift with an open concept based on neutral tones and natural textures. A warm bamboo floating vanity anchors the room, with large format porcelain tile covering the entire floor. A walk in shower glass panel mirrors a etched glass privacy panel for the commode. The tub is flanked my partial walls that act as a tub filler mount and bench. Niches in each space add function and style, blending seamlessly in with the tile. A large trough sink sits below an inset custom framed mirror.

Bedroom Interior Design by Che Bella Interiors, serving the Minneapolis & St. Paul area - Our client had recently purchased a coveted lakefront home on the spectacular shoreline of Crystal Lake. While the location and breathtaking views were picture-perfect, the interior was ripe for a transformation and provided an inspiring canvas for a remodel. The scope of this 2020 project included the master bathroom and bedroom, which featured dated finishes, cramped spaces, and a lack of privacy. A wish list included removing the oversized tub, more bathroom storage, a modern color palette, texture, and enhancing privacy to transform their master retreat into the space of their dreams. The space for the master bathroom is deceptively small. The glass enclosure opposite of the shower is a toilet closet for full privacy while making the space feel larger with the addition of the frosted glass. A floating vanity also visually tricks the eye into thinking the space is larger by keeping the flooring visible all the way under the vanity. The Kipling house is a new addition to the Montrose neighborhood. Designed for a family of five, it allows for generous open family zones oriented to large glass walls facing the street and courtyard pool. The courtyard also creates a buffer between the master suite and the children's play and bedroom zones. The master suite echoes the first floor connection to the exterior, with large glass walls facing balconies to the courtyard and street. Fixed wood screens provide privacy on the first floor while a large sliding second floor panel allows the street balcony to exchange privacy control with the study. What began as a renovation project morphed into a new house, driven by the natural beauty of the site. The new structures are perfectly aligned with the coastline, and take full advantage of the views of ocean, islands, and shoals. The location is within walking distance of town and its amenities, yet miles away in the privacy it affords. The house is nestled on a nicely wooded lot, giving the residence screening from the street, with an open meadow leading to the ocean on the rear of the lot. The design concept was driven by the serenity of the site, enhanced by textures of trees, plantings, sand and shoreline. The newly constructed house sits quietly in a location advantageously positioned to take full advantage of natural light and solar orientations. The visual calm is enhanced by the natural material: stone, wood, and metal throughout the home. The main structures are comprised of traditional New England forms, with modern connectors serving to unify the structures. Each building is equally suited for single floor living, if that future needs is ever necessary. Unique too is an underground connection between main house and an outbuilding. With their flowing connections, no room is isolated or ignored; instead each reflects a different level of privacy and social interaction. Just as there are layers to the exterior in beach, field, forest and oceans, the inside has a layered approach. Textures in wood, stone, and neutral colors combine with the warmth of linens, wools, and metals. Personality and character of the interiors and its furnishings are tailored to the client’s lifestyle. Rooms are arranged and organized in an intersection of public and private spaces. The quiet palette within reflects the nature outside, enhanced with artwork and accessories.
