Our client loves their South Minneapolis neighborhood and house but wanted to make some updates and create new areas for work and sleep in their home. We gutted and reconfigured their Attic to create an Owner’s Suite with Bath and generous walk-in closet. The Attic has new modern touches like a black metal cable stair railing. However, the home’s character was retained by preserving original details like an exposed brick chimney and enhanced by opening up the ceiling to expose the beams. This project also included a main-floor Bath remodel and Kitchen refresh.

This transitional master bedroom features a fully-upholstered tufted bed in a violet velvet with custom cream bedding. The neutral, geometric shimmer wallpaper and beveled mirrors reflect light back into this airy space. A cheerful sky blue bedroom is both soothing and refreshing. A low profile velvet headboard allows the light from the windows to still shine through when desired. Rugs were layered for comfort, again pet friendly and washable. The room is simple allowing for a restful atmosphere, and a cozy reading nook.

This bathroom refresh is modern and airy, with shower tiles that add just the right amount of color while keeping it light. This guest bedroom originally had a single wardrobes, and was quite dark. With the addition of a new fully fitted double wardrobe and French doors, the space now feels like a modern retreat, perfect for guests.

I choose this fun black and white snow leopard paper and coordinating fabric which is perfect for a bathroom because it's indoor/outdoor. Painted the cabinets and refreshed all of the trim to compliment the beautiful existing tile which is in perfect condition. Some things don't need to change!
