The brief was to transform the apartment into a home that was suited to our client’s (a young married couple) needs of entertainment and desire for an open plan. By reimagining the spatial hierarchy of a typical Singaporean home, the existing living room was converted nto a guest room, 2 bedrooms were also transformed into a single living space centered in the heart of the apartment. White frameless doors were used in the master and guest bedrooms, extending and brightening the hallway when left open. Accents of graphic and color were also used against a pared down material palette to form the backdrop for the owners’ collection of objects and artwork that was a reflection of the young couple’s vibrant personalities. While gold is typically thought to be "out", this beautiful gold chandelier in the master bedroom constrasted quite nicely with the blue gray walls and coffered ceiling.

The typical MCM front door door was replaced with a mahogany door. The original sidelights however remain in place.

Bathroom - traditional bathroom idea in Seattle

1. White carrera honed Hex tile and subway tile are complimented by the polished carrera on the custom designed vanity with Kohler Sinks. 2. Thomas O’Brien Hicks pendants in Antique Nickel hang over the mirrors from Restoration Hardware. 3. The Custom mosaic Niche in the Shower is repeated on the opposite wall beside the Tresham Toilet by Kohler. 4. Faucets and Shower Hardware are the Grafton Collection from Restoration Hardware. 5. Walls are painted with Sherwin Williams Emerald Paint in SW6204, Sea Salt, and the Wainscote is one shade lighter in SW6203 Spare White. 6. This charming fireplace provides the foundation for this cozy living room area. This is just a classic look for a stone fireplace. I love it when the fireplace is boxed out like this, it provides it with some real meat on the bones. This exact design is a custom creation by Mark Correll. You'll notice the framed in look to the fireplace and the stepping out at the mantle area. Not sure if this install included lighting but typically we will run small spots lights into the little ares under the mantle so the fireplace can be lit up even without a fire... perfect for the summer months. This stone application is done with a grout joint, it mixes in so well this this stone you barely even notice it and the stone stands out. It's a classic look for a traditional room, beautiful!
