Inspiration for a contemporary bedroom remodel in New York with multicolored walls

In collaboration with Darcy Tsung Design, we remodeled a long, narrow bathroom to include a lot of space-saving design: wall-mounted toilet, a barrier free shower, and a great deal of natural light via the existing skylight. The owners of the home plan to age in place, so we also added a grab bar in the shower along with a handheld shower for both easy cleaning and for showering while sitting on the floating bench.

If you’d rather minimize the bed, place it where it is least likely to be seen from the doorway – perhaps, against the very wall the door is sent in.

Colorful Coastal Bedroom When this little girl’s bedroom was installed, she was on the young side. The mom loved the idea of wallpaper, but she was concerned that if it was on the walls her daughter would destroy it. We suggested putting the Walnut wall covering on the ceiling instead. The pattern might have even been too busy for the walls. Used on the ceiling, it draws the eye up. This little girl is very into the princess thing. While an overly pink, princess-themed room would have been over-the-top, we made sure the space felt regal enough for its young inhabitant by installing a high canopy bed and furry shag rug. Marie Antoinette Inspired Bedroom for little girl. with custom balloon window treatments and whimsical wallpaper. Wanted something bold to ground the space and pattern to add visual interest. The homeowners of this traditional colonial in Grosse Pointe Park needed an update to their master bathroom that would provide more space and utility. The challenge was giving them a classic look so that it fit with their home, without being formal so that it fit the family. We combined a jade picket tile from, with a hexagon tile on the floor and marble accents; added a fabulous mint green vanity and topped it off with traditional Delta fixtures. This bathroom can’t be beat!
