Keeping all interior furnishing at a low profile so that your eye stays focused on the crystal blue Pacific. Adding natural furs and playful colors to the homes neutral palate kept the space warm and cozy. Plants and trees helped complete the space and allowed “life” to flow inside and out. For the exterior furnishings we chose natural teak and neutral colors, but added pops of orange to contrast against the bright blue skyline. This open floor plan kitchen, living room, dining room, and staircase. Owner wanted a transitional flare with mid century, industrial, contemporary, modern, and masculinity. http://www.houzz.com/pro/rogerscheck/roger-scheck-photography The budget didn't allow for cabinetry so we re-purposed the old kitchen uppers by painting them and adding a painted shelf above to extend across the window. The counter was made from an unfinished, unbore stain grade door from Lowes. We added a trim to the front and a coat of stain and it's a beautiful, inexpensive folding counter.

Raft Island Kitchen Redesign & Remodel Project Overview Located in the beautiful Puget Sound this project began with functionality in mind. The original kitchen was built custom for a very tall person, The custom countertops were not functional for the busy family that purchased the home. The new design has clean lines with elements of nature . The custom oak cabinets were locally made. The stain is a custom blend. The reclaimed island was made from local material. ..the floating shelves and beams are also reclaimed lumber. The island counter top and hood is NEOLITH in Iron Copper , a durable porcelain counter top material The counter tops along the perimeter of the kitchen is Lapitec.
