Center City is home to this lovely Philadelphia new family of three. The condominium has high ceilings and large windows – fabulous city views are available from every window in this unit. The young family who lives here needed Henck Design to come in and make some updates. We sourced furniture, rugs, and home accessories for the family’s guest room that we transformed into a nursery for their brand new baby.
We sourced and selected case pieces for storage, nursery furniture, upholstered goods and all things baby friendly. The nursery space was large enough to be able to bring in a spacious chaise lounge for the mother and her new baby to nap, rest, and read in. It’s perfectly set up for him to grow, play and learn in for the future.
Interior design jobs that include Nursery design are always rewarding and add a fresh quality to any home. We love designing for both mother and baby!

With its unusual octagon shape, this living room renovation was a design challenge to be conquered! Orignially, heavy cherry cabinets lining the walls and an oversized fireplace mantle wrapped in green marble.
We re-oriented the living room, removed the wall units and renovated the flooring fireplace and window treatments and created a light and bright pallet for which our homeowners can display their gorgeous custom artwork.
The custom limestone fireplace and oversized large pendant in the center of the living room create subtle organic details for the mostly neutral palette. Handmade boucle swivel chairs are set opposite low leather slung loungers and the effect conveys comfort yet sophistication. The high-performance fabric on our custom sofa means afternoon naps and golden retrievers are more than welcome!

Family bedroom. Built in day bed is a good place to nap or read or sleep extra kids.

These clients wanted to connect their
new kitchen bump out to the outdoors
via a sheltered area that would block
bugs and rain but not the view of the
lake below. The NARI member
contractor exceeded those goals with a
design that actually makes the lake
appear closer and seamlessly integrates
indoors and out. It even expanded cool
weather use with strategically placed
heaters and a large fire table. The
project features an operable pergola
with motorized screen walls and
architectural columns over a bluestone
patio.
The client says it’s a lovely place for
open-air naps. “With the wall of Loewen
doors open and the pergola screens
down, our house has never been so
open. We love the design and the final
product. We definitely would hire the
company again and recommend
After Before them,” she said.

The deck offers a blend of mid-century, new, antique and re-purposed furnishings. A variety of finishes and textures create an eclectic and timeless look. Enjoy morning coffee on the deep seating pieces, sun worship on the sleek concrete chaise, napping on the hammock, cocktails at the butcher block bar and fine dining under the sail all while embracing nature.

On the sofa, golden pillows adorned in bold motifs and garnished with lighter colors create a soft seat for watching the news or napping after a long day on the golf course.

We designed and fabricated this swinging bed for relaxing lakeside on the screened in porch. Perfect for socializing or recharging with a book, movie or nap.

We are back at our Floyds Fork Patio Home to share the Foyer, Study and Guest Bathroom with you. As you enter the home, there is a long hallway leading into the open living area. This long slim console table was perfect for the Entry. The shelves provide an opportunity to display favorite keepsakes. For the Study, we selected an oversized settee that had a twin mattress for the seat cushion for afternoon naps or small overnight guests. We played up the symmetry with matching metal tulip tables topped with super tall mid-century lamps. I love the fun zebra fabric we used on the window treatment. All of our neutral fabrics work perfectly with the homeowners’ existing rug. The custom shower curtain in the Guest Bathroom ties all of the finishes together and supports our overall color palette.
Since space is a premium in most patio homes, it is important to be mindful with your furniture selections. Pick pieces that will give you the biggest bang for your buck – a console table with shelves or a dual function sofa. Enjoy!

The deep sofa adds bed-like comfort to the seating area for reading, a nap or both. A pair of chest flank the French doors leading to the front gardens. Large mirrors were hung over each chest to oprn the views and reflect more light.

You know by now we love designing in Bend, and Caldera Springs just feels like home! This project, (a collaboration with Olsen Bros. Construction and Heidi Byrnes Design) is the “forever home” for a couple relocating from Lake Oswego. Soaring wood ceilings, open living spaces and ample bedroom suites informed the client’s classic/modern finish choices.
The furnishings aesthetic began with fabric to inspire pattern and color, and the story for each room unfolded from there. The great room is dressed in deep green, rust and cream, reflecting the natural palette outside every door and window. A pair of plush sofas large enough to nap on, swivel chairs to take in the view, and unique leather ottomans to tuck in where needed, invite lounging and conversation.
The primary and back guest suites offer the most incredible window seats for cozying up with your favorite book. Layered with custom cushions and a pile of pillows, they’re the best seat in the house.
Exciting wallpaper selections for each bathroom provided playful focal walls, from the deep green vinyl grass cloth in the primary bath, to a forest of sparkling tree lines in the powder bath. Amazing how wallpaper can define the personality of a space!
This home is full of color, yet minimal in the “extras” and easy to maintain. It’s always refreshing for us to return to a home we dressed months ago and have it look just like we left it! We know it will provide a warm welcome for the owners and their guests for years to come!

kick off the heels and curl up for a power nap or reading in the sitting area of this office. Comfort and glam await in these grey upholstered chairs with nail head trim. Keeping with the equestrian look in this house we added the horse artwork. The pink tufted ottomans are the pizzazz and spark. The quatrefoil rug and drapes offer pattern and the mirrored buffet is great storage while adding elegance to her office.
