WE TURN YARDS INTO GARDENS Bloom Garden Co. believes that the practice of gardening is fourfold: It is an art, a science, a service to our clients, and a service to our planet. For those four reasons, we are passionate about the development and maintenance of beautiful gardens, serious about horticultural knowledge, committed to professionalism in service, and pioneering in our use of environmentally sustainable methods. We are Tallahassee's first electric lawncare company. We use 100% Lithium Ion powered lawn equipment. We carry no chemicals with us. We minimize fertilizer use to mitigate nutrient pollution. We value organic principles and natural systems. We want to change the way you think and feel about your yard.

Creating environments that encourage our families to spend more time outdoors is important in today’s hi-tech world. Designed for the 2014 Chicago Flower and Garden show, this display garden captures a playful sensibility well-suited for any family to enjoy. The clean, modern lines and carefully planned spaces of this 50’ by 50’ garden form an enticing setting to simply unplug. Working within a very limited area, the design organizes a bio pool with sundeck, a spillover water feature and lounge area, and a gravel dining terrace with a built-in fireplace and shade tree canopy.
Unlike traditional pools, our bio pool utilizes aquatic plants, beneficial bacteria, and microbes, rather than harsh chemicals, to filter the water. Impurities and excess nutrients are drawn out of the water naturally, creating a much healthier swimming environment. A native plant palette is incorporated throughout the garden with shade trees, ornamentals, native forbs, and perennials in an emergent spring landscape. We hope this exciting design will encourage green inspiration for visitors, whether they have a tight city lot or a larger suburban property.

RediRoot BREATHE is a decorative air-pruning planter. Made for home gardeners and houseplant lovers the 360-degree aeration and drainage provided by BREATHE helps deliver beneficial oxygen to plants and allows for even drying. As a plant grows up in BREATHE the roots will be air-pruned as they come in contact with light and air. This action reduces circling roots and signals the plant to grow more lateral roots, increasing the plants' ability to absorb water and nutrients more efficiently. Email grow@rediroot.com or call 800-654-2116 for more information.

This was a complete front yard overhaul from 2015.
Existing conditions included a 110' L x 8't x 8' W laurel hedge, and some shoddy grass.
We scraped the site clean, imported close to 60 cubic yards of compost and nutrient mulch, and had to amend the soil. We planted 6 fruit trees (Asian pears, cherry, plums, and apples).
We planted blueberries, strawberries, lingberries, elderberries, serviceberries, currants, jostaberries, Strawberry Tree (Arbutus unedo), and much more. We planted over 2 dozen variety of culinary and medicinal herb plants, and along the street did a mixture of sedums, grasses, and other drought tolerant plants. Along the garage #2, we set up a simple trellis for a passion flower.

Though graced with a towering Sycamore and other mature plantings, this impressive Craftsman garden was in need of some reimagining. Working with our clients’ wish to eliminate their existing pool, we sited and designed a new spa, pathways, and seating area with a millstone fountain that fits the bucolic feeling of the site. New plantings were designed to attract birds and butterflies.
