Home of an inveterate collector with a keen eye, the hallmarks of this renovated, 1927 Beaux Arts residence are neutral walls and fabrics that celebrate the treasured artwork, rugs, and architecture within. Eclectic objects and furnishings discovered on world travels, antiquing expeditions, and even those inherited mingle easily in relaxed, strategically un-designed fashion. Intentionally void of superfluous decoration to accept flexible furniture arrangements, the mood of this home can swing in an instant simply by rearranging a chair, or swapping pillows - proving the most personal spaces are also the most versatile.

Lighting is key to enhancing all the textures and adding atmosphere to a scheme. It needs to be layered and flexible. By this we mean that you need lighting at different levels, highlighting different items of interest in different ways, we sometimes back light objects to provide a gentle glow emphasising their silhouettes of eg. items on a shelf. Other times we like to direct the light in a way highlights the object itself. In these scheme we have utilised many different lighting techniques including shelf lighting, wall lighting, under counter lighting, floor washers, pendants and down-lights. Lighting is on a series of circuits and all dimmable, enabling our client to create different atmospheres and carry out different functions.Here we have used a smart system to enable to the client to change the scene at a touch of a button.

This sculpture was commissioned by Facebook, for their new Data Center in Western North Carolina. 90% of the sculpture is made from reclaimed items from the demolition of the old building before construction began. Some of the materials included, boiler plates, boiler parts, bricks from the building, rebar aluminum plate and stainless steel tubing frame. The size is 6' x 6' x 16'. Traditional Thai homes are usually built as a cluster of physically separated rooms arranged around a large central terrace. Interpreting the traditional typology of the Thai houses, the Residence Navathani consists in two parallel wings, separated by a large garden and a swimming pool. The objective of the stone architecture is to give a sense of unity and blend the building with trees, plants and other natural landscape. Trees are often allowed to grow in the central area of the traditional Thai house with plants always featured prominently to create a strong relationship with nature. The choice of Thai travertine as the main stone for the building stems from the following objectives: first, the stone must display a strong natural character with contrasting color hues and crystalline veins, which contribute to blending the architecture into the landscape. Second, the design of the stone provides a sense of unity to the building. The façade of each wing displays an array of columns of various widths and spacings and there is an alignment of the columns between the two wings. The texture is rough on the outside face of the columns and honed on the sides as it continues through the window to the inside of the house. The two wings are connected by a long screen wall that separates the drop-off area from the private areas. This wall is pierced with square openings which helps to show a relationship between the two areas. The façade facing the entrance features stone in contrasting but related ways: the right hand wing is clad with honed stone on top of a large window, while the opposite wing displays a chiseled stone wall on the bottom with a large window on top. The architecture extends to the outside of the right-hand wing with a private theater of a modern contemporary design. The stone featured on the façade changes to a minimalist grey basalt while continuing the column concept with the alternate textures grooved on the facing and honed on the sides.

Prospect Update: Study In this Prospect Update Study, we decided to use blue as our base color and accent with blue green. The walls are Sherwin Williams’ Whirlpool (SW9135). Click here to see other blue colors we love. The homeowners had the rolltop desk and chair, file cabinet, secretary, and telescope. We added these two striking wing chairs in a bold flame stitch fabric as well as the leather ottoman. Our paint color is a dramatic backdrop for the artwork. The white matting helps the pieces “pop” off the walls. We accessorized the top of the desk as well as the secretary with objects that support our color theme. The table lamp in a putty painted finish with gold highlights and interesting base is perfect between our chairs. Love the shape of the wing chair backs! The neutral drapery panels bring texture and interest with the embroidered pattern. The light patterned rug adds warmth and color to the floor and help tie our color scheme together. The Prospect Update: Study is the perfect example of how to decorate a room with a bold wall color. The room is very warm and inviting because the lighter objects provide balance to the space.

The primary objective of this project was to create the ability to install a refrigerator sized for a family of six. The original 14 cubic foot capacity refrigerator was much too small for a four-bedroom home. Additional objects included providing wider (safer) isles, more counter space for food preparation and gathering, and more accessible storage. After installing a beaming above the original refrigerator and dual walk-in pantries (missing despite being in the original building plans), this area of the kitchen was opened up to make room for a much larger refrigerator, pantry storage, small appliance storage, and a concealed information center including backpack storage for the youngest family members (complete with an in-drawer PDAs charging station). By relocating the sink, the isle between the island and the range became much less congested and provided space for below counter pull-out pantries for oils, vinegars, condiments, baking sheets and more. Taller cabinets on the new sink wall provides improved storage for dishes. The kitchen is now more conducive to frequent entertaining but is cozy enough for a family that cooks and eats together on a night basis. The beautiful materials, natural light and marine view are the icing on the cake.

Innovative waste bins ELLETIPI, equipped with a patented mechanism for the automatic opening of the lids when opening the cabinet door. The lid opens and the bin is extracted when you open the cabinet door; the lid also closes automatically when the bin returns in the cabinet when you close the door, guaranteeing odor protection. This object is made of polymers, and the fitting and attachment components are filled and reinforced. This system was designed to be installed on the side of the cabinet and connected to the door (not compulsory). Its main objective is to be used internally in kitchen base cabinets, under the sink. Its installation is practical and rapid, thanks to the instructions that can be used as a drilling guide and the supplied 12 self-tapping screws.
