Our Tuscany collection is made from solid, rustic teak. Natural features such as knots, coarse ridges, and splits may occur naturally in the wood, giving each piece of furniture individual character. A beautiful pewter finish is hand applied to accentuate the aged appearance. If left uncovered, the pewter finish will fade away after a season of use. Once the pewter finish fades, exposing unfinished teak to the elements, the furniture will begin to acquire the beautiful gray patina that is typical of untreated teak.

In this picture, we have added the window and much of the structural framing/reframing is complete (except for the left side). Not shown here is the contingencies we made for ventilation above the ceiling and insulation. If that critical step is not taken, it would greatly speed up the deterioration of the roof shingles (most roof damage occurs from the inside, not the outside).

The owners liked the New England details of tight eave and lapped horizontal siding. The pine shake roof carries a 50-year warranty and the siding is finished in a transparent, non-weathering stain. A very unique feature of the house occurs at the roof level. A small attic tower opens out to a balcony, creating a stage for the telescope and a roost for night time sky watching.
