Among the bestin art fireplace design, the AF120 Remote Controlled Electronic Bio Ethanol Fireplace Insert is favored by architects, contractors and high-end designers and offers the discerning client unprecedented quality and safety. In addition to the same vent-free and clean burning flames as manual ethanol fireplace inserts, this art-Fire bio ethanol burner offers much more for both residential and commercial applications:
Remote Control Capability. Due to its electronic operation, powered by a twelve-volt power source, this ethanol fireplace insert may be ignited and extinguished through an on/off switch located on the burner itself, a one-button remote control or through your smart phone by integrating with your Smart Home System.
On-Board Safety Monitoring. The motherboard of this fireplace insert is safety-central. Constantly self-evaluating its operation, this intelligent burner reacts to any condition that appears atypical. Should it sense an excess amount of carbon dioxide emission or heat output, it will automatically cease operation, extinguish the flame and maintain the lock mechanism of the fuel chamber. Additionally, it will self-extinguish should it sense seismic motion or level of tilt making it a shock-proof device. Fuel and battery levels are also constantly evaluated for optimal performance and will give notification through the burner’s LED display, which will indicate operation times and alert you by sound and error message should an event occur.
Sturdy Construction. Constructed of Grade 304 stainless steel, the ethanol burner is corrosion resistant and exhibits excellent resistance to atmospheric, chemical and other exposures. Its top plate measures three millimeters in thickness(3/32 inches). This allows sturdiness, yet promotes a low profile. For added safety, the ethanol fireplace AF120 insert offers insulated double hearth construction.
Separate Fuel Reservoir and Burner Tray. Continuing with the unprecedented safety features of this ethanol burner, excess fuel is housed in a sealed reservoir. This not only prevents fuel evaporation and the aromatic release of the raw ethanol, but lessens the amount of “exposed” fuel at any given time. Through a medical grade fuel pump, the ethanol is delivered into the burner tray. Only allowing the burner tray to manage a few centiliters of ethanol fuel at a given time promotes additional safety and minimizes the risk of fire-related dangers.

Just found some pics of an aprox 4,000+ square foot second floor residential addition we built in 2011. Originally we built the commercial part of the building (animal hospital) in 2002. This was not an easy task to accomplish this "mixed use" residential addition during all operating hours of the animal hospital. This project was a great example of uncompromising quality, construction time, and ancillary factors to keep the hospital running during"business as usual". Additionally we worked threw that very snowy winter to meet our deadline. Then again, we do love to challenge ourselves to keep things interesting! (22 photos)

This 600 sf three-season sunroom addition features a 10' ceiling, operable french-door style push-out windows, and a bifold door connecting the sunroom and living room.

Our clients Bill and Tammy approached us to construct a bonus room above the garage for their exercise equipment with an additional bedroom and bathroom for guests. This project has a few unique challenges including installing a 2 hour fire rated wall so that their home can be considered two separate structures for the Philomath fire marshal (so we don’t need to install a residential sprinkler system). We are also keeping their existing home operational during construction including their furnace and electrical panel which are directly underneath the new addition!

This beautiful French Provincial home is set on 10 acres, nestled perfectly in the oak trees. The original home was built in 1974 and had two large additions added; a great room in 1990 and a main floor master suite in 2001. This was my dream project: a full gut renovation of the entire 4,300 square foot home! I contracted the project myself, and we finished the interior remodel in just six months. The exterior received complete attention as well. The 1970s mottled brown brick went white to completely transform the look from dated to classic French. Inside, walls were removed and doorways widened to create an open floor plan that functions so well for everyday living as well as entertaining. The white walls and white trim make everything new, fresh and bright. It is so rewarding to see something old transformed into something new, more beautiful and more functional.

Classic white tile was used in this walk in shower. An oversized subway tile was brick stacked on the shower wall and a white penny tile was used on the floor and on the back of the shampoo shelves. A black framed glass wall and door was used to add some character.

We completely gut renovated this pre-war Tribeca apartment but kept some of it's charm and history in tact! The building, which was built in the early 1900's, was home to different executive office operations and the original hallways had a beautiful and intricate mosaic floor pattern. To that point we decided to preserve the existing mosaic flooring and incorporate it into the new design. The open concept kitchen with cantilevered dining table top keeps the area feeling light and bright, casual and not stuffy. Additionally, the custom designed swing arm pendant light helps marry the dining table top area to that of the island.

Saratoga Associates provided architectural design and construction document services for this residential addition / renovation. The client had many different renovation ideas for this historic carriage house.
Completed in 2018, this phase of construction focused on creating a space for the owner to enjoy the sunshine year-round, without being overheated in the summer. This solarium addition was crafted to act as the primary living space in the home.
By providing operable windows high in the cupola, natural ventilation is achieved by way of the stack effect, keeping the room cool and airy in the summer. The tile floor absorbs the winter sun and releases the heat passively as the sun sets. A future pergola located on the southerly side of the addition shields the direct sun rays during the summer months when the sun is highest in the sky.
