This remodel took an extremely dark & dated kitchen and transformed it into a bright and airy happy place for our client. The existing conditions created a dark, hall-like kitchen that greatly lacked in function and did little to optimize storage. Realizing the potential of this truly massive space, we created a design that utilizes every inch of the kitchen and creates functional cooking and prep space as well as pantry storage and work nooks. Our first order of business was to demo out the blocky corner that separated the kitchen from the living room. This involved removing an existing fireplace, re-structuring a wall, and having an entirely new furnace installed in the basement to eliminate a duct running right through the corner we hoped to eliminate. After opening up the space, we focused on highlighting and brightening the room. New NuCore flooring was installed to give the kitchen a fresh look while offering optimal function and cleanability. Two-toned cabinets in a honey maple and painted silk were used to create a warm and comfortable balance throughout the space. New quartz countertops in MSI's canvas were installed, and butcher block was installed on the two desk areas to offer a warm visual relief and casual work surface. The color palette for the kitchen is reminiscent of a cozy apothecary; we utilized fresh greens with Sherwin Williams paint on the walls and Treviso Gray Sage glazed subway tiles on the backsplash. Over the sink, we designed a playful highlight with counter-to-ceiling mini brick mosaic in a dark crackle green. We introduced additional lighting throughout including new recessed lights, over-sink light, and under-cabinet lights. New appliances were introduced to the space as well, and we complimented the stainless steel of these fixtures to the transitional nickel hardware on the cabinets. This space now feels open and inviting, and is visible from the second you enter the front door! We are so proud of this result and so happy that our clients can enjoy this gorgeous kitchen for years to come.

We updated this 1907 two-story family home for re-sale. We added modern design elements and amenities while retaining the home’s original charm in the layout and key details. The aim was to optimize the value of the property for a prospective buyer, within a reasonable budget. New French doors from kitchen and a rear bedroom open out to a new bi-level deck that allows good sight lines, functional outdoor living space, and easy access to a garden full of mature fruit trees. French doors from an upstairs bedroom open out to a private high deck overlooking the garden. The garage has been converted to a family room that opens to the garden. The bathrooms and kitchen were remodeled the kitchen with simple, light, classic materials and contemporary lighting fixtures. New windows and skylights flood the spaces with light. Stained wood windows and doors at the kitchen pick up on the original stained wood of the other living spaces. New redwood picture molding was created for the living room where traces in the plaster suggested that picture molding has originally been. A sweet corner window seat at the living room was restored. At a downstairs bedroom we created a new plate rail and other redwood trim matching the original at the dining room. The original dining room hutch and woodwork were restored and a new mantel built for the fireplace. We built deep shelves into space carved out of the attic next to upstairs bedrooms and added other built-ins for character and usefulness. Storage was created in nooks throughout the house. A small room off the kitchen was set up for efficient laundry and pantry space. We provided the future owner of the house with plans showing design possibilities for expanding the house and creating a master suite with upstairs roof dormers and a small addition downstairs. Martin's master bathroom was a decently functional space with elements that had seen better days. The key elements included an old tub/shower combo, which, while practical, lacked the aesthetic and space optimization he desired. The bathroom overall felt dated, with worn-out fixtures and a lack of efficient storage solutions. The lighting was dim, making the space feel smaller and less inviting. Martin selected new Waypoint Cabinetry in the Maple Rye finish, offering a contemporary, yet warm and inviting, look that was the first step of transforming the room's ambiance. The LG Forte Quartz countertops added a clean and sleek look, enhancing the bathroom's overall modern vibe. He chose to optimize his wall space by selecting a surface mount storage mirror, which provided ample storage space and better organization. To address the previously dim lighting and cave-like feel at his vanity, Martin selected a Kichler Zel Linear LED Bath Light. This significantly brightened the space, creating an illusion of a larger room and highlighting his new and modern bathroom design. The highlight of this renovation was the custom-built shower. Our recent project in the West Village involved a comprehensive kitchen and bathroom remodel, focusing on innovative design elements to enhance functionality and aesthetics. In the kitchen, we incorporated vibrant green cabinets to infuse a sense of freshness and modernity. Breaking down a wall transformed the closed kitchen into an open space, promoting a seamless connection with the living areas. The bathroom, despite its small size, was optimized for usability. Green tiles were chosen not only for their visual appeal but also to create a soothing atmosphere. The strategic use of space maximized storage and usability. As part of the overall renovation, we refinished the floors, providing a cohesive and polished look throughout. Additionally, closet doors were installed, contributing to organized and clutter-free living. This West Village project showcases our commitment to blending style and functionality, resulting in a transformed living space that meets the unique needs of our clients.

Located on a heritage-lined street in Melbourne’s Williamstown, a young family were seeking a contemporary home with ample room to grow. Benni Trajcevski of Achieve Design Group answered their call, creating the epitome of modern living concealed behind a modest façade. To achieve the long wish list including large indoor and outdoor gathering spaces to entertain family and friends, separate adult and children living and sleeping zones, and a pool suitable for year-round use, Benni has maximised every inch of the block. Seamless transitional spaces link inside with out. This flow between the indoors and outdoors is a key feature of the home, achieved through generous open floor planning and glazing. For example, large hidden sliding doors allow the pool to be closed-off for use in winter; acrylic glass panels link the pool with the sunken lounge, which includes a fire pit for year-round comfort. The inclusion of a courtyard and voids throughout create separate useable zones while maintaining the feeling of spaciousness. Orientated to the north and surrounded with floor to ceiling windows to optimise natural light, the courtyard divides the formal lounge area with the informal living area, while the first floor is divided into four separate wings for privacy and functionality. The interiors are detailed with quality materials and finishes to achieve a sleek and sophisticated aesthetic. Contrasting materials in muted tones, including tiles, steel and lightweight timbers are featured throughout. Corian and a moss green wall are unexpected features.

Bright and roomy, the floor plan includes 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a large vaulted great room, a second story loft with 2 bedrooms and 1 bath, a first floor master suite, and a flexible “away room”. Every square inch of this home was optimized in the design stage for flexible spaces with convenient traffic flow, and excellent storage - all within a modest footprint. The generous covered outdoor areas extend the living spaces year-round and provide geometric grace to a classic gable roof.
