I contracted Kingsford to replace the windows in my house. The project was broken into 2 phases. The first phase went wonderfully - the team seemed to do a great job and the new windows worked for my needs. The second phase was full of problems. The wrong materials were delivered, the window flashing is horrible, the wrong color caulk was used. The team had to come back a second time because we found nails and trash left behind, as well as we noticed nails in windows still and windows that were installed in a very haphazard manner (Sloppy caulk work, nothing clean). All of this was corrected and I thought to myself "we can move past this - we have no windows and can make it work". Then about the weather rolled in and suddenly I have a water damage in my kitchen. I never even assumed it could be the windows (There is one window in the room above the kitchen, but it never came into my mind that the window could be the issue because it was new). I brought my normal home contractor out and they looked at it. Turns out the window wasn't sealed. Zero caulk along the bottom of the window.
To make this entire scenario worse, as I found myself loosing faith in Kingsford - I asked my contractor to check the windows to see how Kingsford did on the rest of the windows. He found that the window drip plates were not replaced, and were rotten in a few places (Kingsford never even mentioned that to me). And that a few other windows had some issues. I had my contractor that I trust correct the issues since I didn't want to be exposed to the weather. I then called Kingsford and asked to speak to the owner.
The owner is a soft spoken and reasonable person, however he had absolutely zero value to add to my plight. He said "You should have stopped work repairing the damage and called Kingsford - we would have come and examined things". My reply stating that I had lost faith in that company as well as the fact that I didn't want to leave my house exposed to elements seemed to fall on deaf ears". He then made me a bit more angry by saying "Out of his good will, he would send someone out to look at the windows". He completely missed the point that 1) It is not good will, it is however, the warranty of the windows - and is part of his job and 2) I've lost complete faith in Kingsford to actually do there job correctly. We've had them out 3x to look at things that were not done correctly.
Bottom line - I will never use this company again - and bluntly - I'd advise you to stay away from them. They sub-contract out all of there installs - so there is zero quality assurance and nobody checks anything. If you have any issue and need to repair it - they are slow to respond and if you correct it on your own - to protect your house and investment, they will pawn you off and say that you should have called them first.
I will never use this company again and recommend that you all stay far away from them. I now have to repair water damage in my kitchen because of this company!

We talked to 4-5 contractors about replacement windows for our lake house and choosing Kingsford was definitely a great decision! Their suggestion to consider sliding windows instead of double hungs on the lake side really enhanced our lake views and added a great deal of light to our house. We ordered 3 new storm doors along with the windows and were so happy with the install that we brought them back to do new fascias, gutters and gutter guards. So thrilled with the results - Thanks Kingsford!

DO NOT USE KINGSFORD!!! The salesman lied about some key facts in the windows that we were getting. We specifically asked if they were replacement windows or if they were like new construction windows without the flange. The salesman specifically said that they were like new construction windows without the flange. He said they take it all the way down to the studs and that was what separated Kingsford from the replacement window companies. Well.... WRONG!! When they brought the windows out to install them we saw that they were replacement windows. We called the owner and he apologized for the "miscommunication" but said that he only sells replacement windows. He refused to do anything for us because he had fulfilled the requirements of the contract. The information from the salesman was just verbal, it was not legally binding. He was correct in that, however, his salesman is a representative of his company and knowingly gave us incorrect information to try to prove that they are better than all other window companies out there. They are certainly far more expensive but not better. We made a huge mistake in hiring Kingsford.

Comment from Kingsford Siding, Windows & Patio Rooms:
We understand that sometimes when consumers speak to multiple vendors things can overlap and run together. No one lied to or misrepresented product to Amy B. from our company. Knowing that consumers are speaking to multiple vendors on the same project while they are receiving estimates, we like to ask the customer to visit our design center to review the product that they are thinking of purchasing and go over in detail the agreement before they sign. Amy B. did come to our design center and reviewed the product that she ultimately decided to purchase, which were replacement windows. She did not indicate at that time that she was looking for anything other than what she saw and what she purchased, when it was time to pay the invoice she was looking for a reduction of price by $3,000.00. Customer satisfaction is our #1 priority and we pride ourselves on delivering quality service and product, some requests though are unreasonable.

After months of research and interviews with several companies, we selected Kingsford.. Our home needed extensive work due to its age and exterior damage. We had a complete re-siding done which included new shutters, gutters, siding, windows and, lastly, had our bay window wall rebuilt and a new bow window installed. Kingsford was very professional, timely, cleaned the work site daily and were very competitively priced! We would highly recommend them and plan on using them in the future.

Kingsford installed our siding, windows and doors. There workmanship is superior and I couldn't ask for more knowledgeable and polite men to do the installation. Any time I have had a problem, they have always fixed it in a timely manner to my satisfaction. Would recommend them to everyone!!

Kingsford has replaced 19 windows for us, as well as created a stamped concrete patio that provides a full eating/BBQ space on one side and connected via walkway to a jacuzzi and seating area. Their workers cleaned up after themselves and were very efficient at everything they did. The owner, Kevin, made it a point to show up on the job site and make sure everything was going well and that we were happy. Through the years, as we need more work or improvements done, you can rest assured that we will call Kingsford.
