The luxury details found in this kitchen remodel include Precision custom cabinetry finished in 'Swiss Coffee’, a perimeter countertop made out of a porcelain slab by Dekton from the Stonika Collection—color ‘Sogne’; and a contrasting island countertop made of polished Nevaska Granite, with a thicker 2-½” full bullnose edge. The full height backsplash is a honed Carrara Marble tile, 4”x12”, installed in a brick pattern. Note: Porcelain is a durable man-made stone that resembles natural marble or granite. It's an excellent option for kitchens, as it has heat resistant properties like natural stone. Other man-made materials like Quartz have resin components that limit the heat you can subject them to. Other features included new high-end appliances, a wine refrigerator and engineered wood flooring throughout.

The option to downsize was not an option for the empty nesters who have lived in this home for over twenty-five years. Situated in TMR, the sprawling home has been the venue for many social events, dinner parties and family celebrations. With grown children living abroad, and grand children on the way, it was important that the new kitchen be highly functional and conducive to hosting informal, yet large family gatherings. The kitchen had been relocated to the garage in the late eighties during a large renovation and was looking tired. Eight foot concrete ceilings meant the new materials and design had to create the illusion of height and light. White lacquered doors and integrated fridge panels extend to the ceiling and cast a bright reflection into the room. The teak dining table and chairs were the only elements to preserve from the old kitchen, and influenced the direction of materials to be incorporated into the new design. The island and selected lower cabinetry are made of butternut and oiled in a matte finish that relates to the teak dining set. Oversized tiles on the heated floors resemble soft concrete. The mandate for the second floor included the overhaul of the master ensuite, to create his and hers closets, and a library. Walls were relocated and the floor plan reconfigured to create a luxurious ensuite of dramatic proportions. A walk-in shower, partitioned toilet area, and 18’ vanity are among many details that add visual interest and comfort. Minimal white oak panels wrap around from the bedroom into the ensuite, and integrate two full-height pocket doors in the same material.

They needed a better solution to their existing, outdated fiberglass shower stall and had difficulty squatting to enter the shower. As bathroom designers, we realize that a neo-angle shower is a simple and minimalistic design option where space is a premium. The clipped corner creates an angled opening that allows easy access to the shower between other fixtures in the bathroom. This new shower has a curb using a combination of glass and tile for the walls. Taking advantage of every possible inch for the shower made an enormous difference in comfort while showering. A traditional shower head along with a multi-function hand-held shower head and a shampoo niche both save space and provide a relaxing showering experience. The custom 3/8″ thick glass shower enclosure with mitered corners provides a clean and seamless appearance. The vanity’s bead-board design in sage green compliments the unique veining and hues in the quartz countertop. When we were approached us to tackle the kitchen design for this full house remodel, the homeowner had clear expectations of what she wanted her “new” kitchen to resemble. She hoped to create a late 19th century Soda Fountain Shop in her own home. Through a careful design process, we were able to create exactly the look that this discerning homeowner was looking for without giving up and modern conveniences that are found in today’s upscale kitchens. As a design firm, we were lucky that the remodeling process was extensive enough to allow us the freedom to create a space where this family of five could enjoy the comforts of classic Americana in their very own Soda Fountain Shop.

This fun classic kitchen in Gold River features Columbia frameless cabinets in Sandy Hook grey. A green glass backsplash in a random matte and polished pattern complements the cabinets which are faced with both painted wood and frosted glass. Significant progress is evident in crafting this beautiful coastal-themed kitchenette. The white, wood-grain cabinetry immediately creates a light, airy foundation, perfectly setting the stage for a serene coastal aesthetic. A key design element is the designated space for a panel-ready dishwasher. This allows for seamless integration of a custom cabinet panel, blending the appliance flawlessly with the surrounding cabinetry. This maintains the clean, uninterrupted lines crucial for a sophisticated coastal design and achieves a truly built-in, cohesive look. While the air fryer's specific placement isn't explicitly visible, its integration in a modern coastal kitchen can be achieved smartly. Options include a dedicated appliance garage with a retractable door to keep it out of sight, a sturdy pull-out shelf in a base cabinet for easy access, or even stylish open shelf integration for frequent users, ensuring it aligns with the overall coastal decor. The clear, possibly beach glass , cabinet knobs further enhance the coastal vibe, resembling sea glass and adding subtle charm. The microwave is already installed, suggesting the upper cabinetry is nearing completion. Next steps will involve countertop installation, which will further define the space, and the integration of the custom dishwasher panel. This thoughtful customization, particularly for appliances, ensures this kitchen will be both visually stunning and highly practical for modern living.

This cultivar of Eastern Red Cedar was selected because of its narrow and upright growth habit which resembles the look of an Italian Cypress. For years Italian Cypress have been thrust into landscapes throughout Dallas Metroplex because of their unique shape but they have a lot of issues which include: Phytophthora Root Rot, Seridium Canker, Spider Mites and they are susceptible to cold weather. With this introduction of the Taylor Juniper all of those issues are solved while keeping the desired look of an Italian Cypress. Eastern Red Cedar (parent plant of the Taylor Juniper) are native throughout Texas and are extremely drought tolerant, disease resistant and able to handle a wide variety of soil conditions and all of these traits can be seen in the Taylor Juniper.
