Our clients, a vibrant young family with two energetic kids and a playful dog, were feeling the constraints of their outdated, cramped house. The Main Floor was divided by walls, fragmenting the Kitchen, Dining Room, and living areas, making family time and entertaining a bit of a struggle.
The Kitchen was small and dim, lacking counter space and storage. The kids' study/play table was squeezed into a tight corner, emphasizing the lack of space. The dark hardwood floors were scratched and worn, and the foyer felt cramped and uninviting. The powder room was also
The idea of a major renovation brought both excitement and a bit of anxiety. The couple was unsure about design decisions and worried about the challenges of dealing with structural columns and beams.
Collaborating with Sosna designer Camila, the family embarked on a journey to transform their outdated house into a bright, functional home.
To open up the space, walls were removed, creating a seamless flow between the foyer, living room, dining room, and kitchen.
The kitchen was relocated and expanded to include generous counter space and a large island, providing the ideal spot for the kids to help prepare meals—a task they’ve come to enjoy since the renovation—or work on their homework. Additionally, the addition of a cozy window bench offers extra seating for hanging out with the family. It’s also the perfect place to curl up with a good book.
The once dark and gloomy powder room was completely refreshed with new fixtures, a white oak vanity, and beautiful floor tiles, which significantly brightened it up.
Additionally, the dark hardwood floors were replaced with a lighter, more modern option, brightening the entire main floor.
The renovation wasn't without its hiccups. A mix-up with the hardwood flooring led to a last-minute scramble for a replacement. But in the end, the family fell in love with the new flooring, proving that sometimes unexpected changes can lead to even better outcomes.
The renovation completely transformed the home. What was once a cramped and segmented main floor is now a bright, open space perfectly suited to the family's lifestyle. The new kitchen island became the heart of the home, providing a place for the kids to do homework while their parents cooked, fostering a sense of togetherness. The open layout also made hosting gatherings effortless.
Throughout the renovation, the kids and their dog brought a playful energy to the construction site, forming a special bond with the crew. Despite the challenges of living through a renovation, the family managed to maintain a sense of normalcy, working from home when possible and appreciating the crew's efforts to keep things tidy.
What started as a simple update turned into a full-scale transformation that reflects the family’s needs and personal style. Their willingness to embrace bold design choices, such as blush pink tiles and bright floral patterns, adds a unique touch to the space. And that hardwood flooring mix-up? It turned out to be a happy accident, resulting in a floor they love even more.
In the end, this renovation was more than just a home makeover; it was about creating a space that truly feels like home, nurturing family connections, and bringing joy to everyday life.

For this bedroom interior we added shiplap to the bedroom ceiling, which added depth and texture to the room, freshened up the wall color to a more calming shade, and painted trim to match the shiplap in the bedroom. We also added shiplap to the bathroom vanity and freshened up with a new coat of paint. This repeat customer was very pleased with the outcome.

Our wonderful clients who are native to New Jersey purchased a new-build townhouse in Charlotte, North Carolina and asked us to turn it into a warm and welcoming home. We accomplished this by starting with an overall neutral palette and incorporating texture to every room along with dark elements which added depth throughout. Fun wallpaper and original artwork created by a local Charlotte artist were also focal points of the home which enhanced it's personality even more. Our most challenging space was the narrow outdoor area, which started out as a screened in porch with a fireplace. We were able to transform the space into a beautiful and function lounge and dining area which is used to entertain friends and family constantly. We couldn't be happier that our client was thrilled with the outcome!

A small kitchen is transformed into a highly functional space with multiple seating / socializing areas and ample counter space. The design was achievable with the inclusion of a custom sized island that is a little smaller in depth than typical. This allowed for appropriate clearances to pass between work spaces. The client's personal flair was certainly an inspiration for the project. The chairs were already part of the existing kitchen, and we jumped at the chance to incorporate the colours. Woodworking was completed by Scott Hamilton Woodworking. A beautiful outcome over all!

Gorgeous kitchen remodel in Chadds Ford, PA. Oh Henry! He was impressed with the outcome (but loved the snacks he received). Customer selected Fieldstone Cabinetry in a Maple wood species, with a Painted finish, of Dove. The island selected is a Cherry wood species with a standard stain, Cappuccino. Stratford door style, in a square flat panel. Grate chosen was Onur, in Antico White. Hutch and Desk area has a gorgeous Cherry Wood Countertop that is custom stained in Cappuccino to match the island cabinetry. Tile backsplash and under cabinet LED lighting really set this kitchen off!

About three months ago I received a phone call from a couple in Schererville Indiana that wanted to redo their master bathroom. We met for a consult, discussed how she wanted the space to feel, and I was very excited to take on this project!
My client wanted to be involved so I recommended various design options and we went together and sourced decorative items selected for this project...tiles/ light fixtures/ mirrors/ hardware/ cabinets/ granite/ wall color/vessel sinks/ heated floors/ anything decorative. I hired Mike, sales project manager from Kusiak Construction to handle the demolition and rebuild of this project. It took about 3 months to complete once we selected all the decorative items.
My clients were a dream to work with...I am honored to have been able to work with such a great couple and the outcome was super!
Enjoy the before and after photos!

Location: Denver, CO, USA
This 3,000 SF loft was in need of some serious renovation. Built and designed in the mid-80’s, this space required a full-scale renovation plan that integrated with the existing structure. The brief called for design solutions that appealed to the client’s eclectic taste, as well as a desire for a modern, clean aesthetic.
The name of the game - texture, then some more texture. Neutral colors and masculine materials were used throughout to bring it all together.
"I hired dado to do a complete redesign of my downtown Denver penthouse. Megan Moore was the lead designer who went out of her way to get to know my personality, tastes, lifestyle and what was important to me. The design was current but not trendy, on budget but not cheap, high style but not pretentious. I could not be more pleased with the process and outcome. When friends visit me they are amazed at the transformation of my home. If I had to do it all over again I'd hire dado and their design team--without a doubt!!"

Earlier this year I was invited over to a property in the village of Silfield near Wymondham in Norfolk to inspect a Limestone tiled floor. Now I don’t usually quote my clients, but this is how the owner of the property had described the floor in the enquiry I received from Tile Doctor.
“Grout Black, where tiles have divots, dirt is encased,
plus no shine to floor, sealant non-existent.”
The problems listed were quite comprehensive and having had chance to survey the floor we found them to be quite accurate and really could not disagree with her comments! The Limestone tiles had been laid throughout the Kitchen diner and it was clear the sealer had worn off completely allowing dirt to become ingrained in the Limestone tiles and especially the grout which had turned black.
I understood from the owner that the grout lines should have been a pale cream colour rather than the black it was now, additionally the natural pitting in the Limestone was full of the same black contaminants. I ran a quick water test on the tiles to see if there was a seal present and it confirmed that if there had ever been one it was now completely compromised. The lack of sealer had allowed all liquid spills and dirt to soak straight into the tile making it dirty and exceedingly difficult to clean.
A large birthday celebration party had been planned and our client was desperate for the floor to be brought back to life beforehand. Although I couldn’t start immediately due to other commitments, it was able to return in time to get the floor clean for the party.
Our first job was to tackle the severe soiling trapped in the pits and grout lines. To do this a very strong dilution (2:1 ratio) of Tile Doctor Pro-Clean was applied to the floor and left to soak into the tile and grout for about 10 minutes. Then is was scrubbed into the tiles with help from a rotary buffer fitted with a soft/medium long-bristled nylon brush. The resulting slurry was then power rinsed with 60-degree hot water and extracted with our 400psi machine which jetted out all the black, oily contaminants from the grout and pits.
The floor was speed dried with the assistance of a large air mover. Once dry to the touch our attention was turned to filling the now exposed pitts in the Limestone tiles and two cracks with an appropriately coloured fast cure epoxy compound. Having allowed the filler time to reach full hardness, we ground down the excess material with 100 and 200 grit hand burnishing blocks in preparation for the next stage.
We find the best way to renovate the appearance of stone is to use a process called burnishing which hones the stone and beings up the polish. For this you need a set of 17-inch diamond encrusted burnishing pads. The pads fit the rotary buffer and are applied to the floor in sequence from 400, 800 and then 1500 grit using water to lubricate the process. The waster turns into a slurry as you work, and this is then rinsed off the floor with water after each pad and extracted using a wet vacuum. The floor was then left to dry thoroughly overnight with the assistance of our large capacity dehumidifier.
Returning the following day, we thoroughly vacuumed the floor to remove any remaining powder and grit left from the previous day’s wet work before spray burnishing the surface with a Tile Doctor 3000-grit diamond pad. This last pad really beings up the polished appearance of the Limestone and gave the tiles a deep and rich shine.
This last pad is applied without water and so leaves the floor dry and ready to for a new sealer to be applied. Our sealer of choice was Tile Doctor Ultra Seal, it’s a premium penetrating sealer that soaks into the pores of the stone protecting it from within. Ultra-Seal doesn’t alter the natural appearance of the stone giving it undetectable protection from staining. Having allowed the sealed floor to dry with the assistance of our air mover, the whole area was buffed using a white buffing pad and a small amount of finely sprayed water to remove any light smearing before vacuuming once again to finish.
My client was delighted with the result and left the following feedback for us:
“Totally renewed two flooring areas in our house to what looks like a recently laid floor. I have already had so many compliments without even telling people it had been professionally cleaned! Nick and Sue are always very easy to have about, inconspicuous and hard working. Absolutely delighted with the outcome and would recommend without hesitation. Thank you so much!”
For aftercare cleaning I recommended Tile Doctor Stone Soap, its designed for cleaning polished stone floors and will help build-up the patina. It’s a neutral pH product so won’t prematurely erode the sealer like many tile cleaning products you find in supermarkets which are really sold for cleaning glazed ceramic tiles not sealed natural stone.

This kitchen remodeling project was done in an older house in Reston. The wall between the kitchen and living room was removed and the whole kitchen was opened to the living room and dining room. When we envisioned the new landscape within the outdoor living space at Solana Beach Coastal Oasis, we imagined we were sitting poolside at a lushly planted Baja Zen style retreat.
The owners of this Solana Beach home wanted plenty of space for outdoor dining and lounging by the pool. We enjoy creating innovative outdoor spaces for clients that can check both boxes. The outcome of this serene coastal landscape design has just the right combination of sleek and rustic elements, while being low maintenance.
This outdoor renovation also included some eco-friendly upgrades. We renovated an existing sprinkler system so that it uses 60% less water than traditional systems.
To keep it easy for the client, we added a custom Ipe wood pool cover box that also serves as a bench. This box contains the solar pool cover that was a challenge to store and an eyesore in the scenery.
We introduced succulents and other low water plants in order to reduce the amount of water that is typically required to keep landscapes thriving in Southern California.
Additional Design Elements:
Potted plants including Citrus and Japanese Maple trees
Custom Redwood entry gates and privacy fence
Custom Ipe wood bench box that also stores the unsightly solar pool cover
Fire pit table installed for enjoying cool evenings
Stone veneered outdoor BBQ
Stone veneered columns and retaining walls
Pool with waterfall
Spa
Stained concrete walkways and patios with inlaid stone bands
Low voltage lighting
Bistro lights
Teak patio furniture

This kitchen got a huge transformation by removing the soffits and installing taller cabinets. They went with a flat Richfield door by Bridgewood in maple. The upper cabinets were done in snow while the lower cabinets and the island were done in pewter. We also installed a new Cambria quartz countertop in Seagrove and a winter metal mosaic backsplash. The grey/white combination paired with Cambria’s Seagrove turned this kitchen into a stunner!! The home owners were ecstatic with the outcome.

A young couple makes this historic Montclair home there new dream home with plans to completely transform the kitchen foot print. They invited Signature Designs into help that new kitchen vision come to life. We of course removed the wall that was confining the kitchen space but we also decided to take out the kitchen door and relocate the kitchen window. By closing off the old kitchen window we were able to utilize that space for the cooktop and built in oven. This client wanted something playful for the tile so we decided upon this custom marble backsplash cut into half circles and multiple pastels. The backsplash ties the upper and lower cabinetry together perfectly. Even though there is a lot going on in this space the outcome is just spectacular.
