The Rahimi brothers came into our showroom and consulted with Jodi for their custom home build. At Castle Kitchens, we are able to help all customers including builders with meeting their budget and providing them with great designs for their end customer. We worked closely with the builder duo by looking after their project from design to installation. The final outcome was a design that ensured the best layout, balance, proportion, symmetry, designed to suit the style of the property. Our kitchen design team was a great resource for our customers with regard to mechanical and electrical input, colours, appliance selection, accessory suggestions, etc. We provide overall design services! The project features walnut accents all throughout the house that help add warmth into a modern space allowing it be welcoming. Castle Kitchens was ultimately able to provide great design at great value to allow for a great return on the builders project. This client needed a place to entertain by the pool. They had already done their “inside” kitchen with Bilotta and so returned to design their outdoor space. All summer they spend a lot of time in their backyard entertaining guests, day and night. But before they had their fully designed outdoor space, whoever was in charge of grilling would feel isolated from everyone else. They needed one cohesive space to prep, mingle, eat and drink, alongside their pool. They did not skimp on a thing – they wanted all the bells and whistles: a big Wolf grill, plenty of weather resistant countertop space for dining (Lapitec - Grigio Cemento, by Eastern Stone), an awning (Durasol Pinnacle II by Gregory Sahagain & Sons, Inc.) that would also keep bright light out of the family room, lights, and an indoor space where they could escape the bugs if needed and even watch TV. The client was thrilled with the outcome - their complete vision for an ideal outdoor entertaining space came to life. Cabinetry is Lynx Professional Storage Line. For this whole home renovation project, located in Skokie, our team had their work cut out for them. The home, which had been built in the late 60s, was completely out of date. The closed layout made the entire main floor feel very dark, while the mixed use of flooring materials also made the space appear choppy. There was a substantial amount of engineering work to completely open up the entire main level but the outcome is a bright and airy space that feels cohesive throughout. The basement also got a facelift with brand new walls and flooring. The entryway received a fresh coat of stain on the original door with a show-stopping chandelier to crown the area.

Rooms filled with light, fine art and antique furniture were the backdrops for our "Kentfield Collected" project. This was an overall home refresh and our team loved the challenge of bringing new life to the exquisite existing collection of art and antiques. We started with thoughtful space planning to achieve an overall outcome that is more pleasing for the clients' enjoyment of the home when each room feels more balanced. The refreshing of exciting items and the selection of a few new pieces brought a touch of light, beauty and pop of unexpected that paired beautifully with the treasured finds of the homeowners. In the powder bath, the poppy wall covering, navy vanity and silvery metallic ceiling paint is one of the pops of unexpected delight you will find in the home. Our team designed beautiful linen draperies in a creamy gold-tone that perfectly framed the amazing view from the dining room windows. The buffet in a dark navy with a faux Belgian linen finish and a pair of crystal lamps were the right balance to complement the wall art in the room. The addition of a game table to the living room framed by a mirror and scones is an ideal spot for a game of cards or stunning flowers. The reupholstered chaise took on a hip and vibrant vibe in a lush green velvet fabric and placed in a perfectly edited guest suite. Custom outdoor cushions and pillows create a spot to enjoy the deck and views at the end of the day.

BEFORE PHOTO The Peony Street kitchen remodel is the perfect blend of trending and timeless. The homeowners wanted a space that felt lively but comforting and fresh but classic. They also wanted a remodel that would rejuvenate the kitchen but still coordinate with the rest of their Corvallis home. The outcome is a light-filled and airy space that’s bright and welcoming. The traditional Shaker cabinets were in great shape, but needed an update. To ensure the look would remain stylish for many years, we chose paint colors that exude timelessness: Sherwin Williams Alabaster on the uppers and Indigo Batik on the lowers and island. Indigo Batik is a rich but subtle medium blue that’s reminiscent of old ticking stripe fabric but still feels very fresh and current. The elegant hardware design from the Top Knobs Regent’s Park Cumberland collection in honey bronze elevates the playfulness of the color palette. Along the countertops, backsplash, and even the window sill is Silestone Pietra. The homeowners wanted a stylish material that’s low maintenance, but meets the elevated design of their new space. The unique blue veining in the countertops and slab backsplash is brought out by the paint color but it’s subtle enough that it doesn’t draw too much attention. The blend of minerals, quartz, and recycled materials make their new countertops stain, heat, and scratch resistant, unlike natural stone surfaces. It’s also finished with a quarter bevel edge, which is a fine angular detail that works with the overall transitional aesthetic of their Corvallis kitchen. Their island also received a few updates that leave the kitchen with a standout focal point. The carved tapered island posts provide support and a style that’s slightly traditional without being overly decorated. We also added panels that continue the transitional Shaker style throughout the space.

An expressive family home in Clapham. The Brief The brief was to create a new ground floor. It needed to be a flexible home capable of accommodating guests of all ages whilst maintaining purpose and separation between spaces. The Solution We proposed re-routing the hallway to become a central corridor through the ground floor plan. This would connect the rear and front halves of the property across a series of staggered level changes. We also wanted to create an enlarged rear space for entertainment that linked to the garden space. The removal of an existing courtyard allowed for the insertion of a boot room and relocated WC central to the plan. Separating the distinctly classical detailing of the front reception and dining room, which emphasises our clients’ favoured style and family backgrounds, from the sleek contemporary rear kitchen and entertainment space was successfully enhanced by the varied format of the timber flooring from Trunk. Maintaining visual connectivity was achieved by way of two sizeable glazed pocket doors that enable the two halves of the plan to be differentiated from each other. At the same time, the use of internal glazing supports views through the property to the remodelled rear garden. The bespoke designed kitchen from Eclectic Interiors introduces the user to the modernised rear extension, which features sharp detailing and a splash of colour from the feature media unit designed by our interiors team. The symmetrical rear elevation carries through to the garden making for an interconnected, seamless transition through the property. The Result The combination of classical and contemporary elements marry together well to support flexible family living and entertaining. Our clients are delighted with the outcome and feel that it meets their brief and design aspirations.

Emma Gerancher from Reico Kitchen & Bath in Charlottesville, VA, partnered with Luis Dorta of LED Construction to design a transitional kitchen featuring Masterpiece cabinetry. The kitchen includes the Barton door style in a Cottage finish for the perimeter and a custom Sherwin-Williams Mount Etna painted finish for the island. The space also features MSI W Calacatta Safyra countertops, along with a Frigidaire canopy hood and microwave. The client shared, “Gutting our old kitchen to reconfigure the space for better flow, workspace, and storage was a challenge. Emma listened to my needs and offered helpful tips and options, which made the process work. The layout followed the workflow, and my habits and style guided the final details. Reico gave me the options and confidence to trust the process, and the outcome is seamless and beautiful.” Emma explained, “This kitchen is one of my favorites. The homeowners wanted to replace the peninsula with a custom painted island in Sherwin-Williams Mount Etna, which paired well with the Cottage perimeter cabinets, Calacatta Safyra countertops, sea glass backsplash, and honey bronze hardware. When we envisioned the new landscape within the outdoor living space at Solana Beach Coastal Oasis, we imagined we were sitting poolside at a lushly planted Baja Zen style retreat. The owners of this Solana Beach home wanted plenty of space for outdoor dining and lounging by the pool. We enjoy creating innovative outdoor spaces for clients that can check both boxes. The outcome of this serene coastal landscape design has just the right combination of sleek and rustic elements, while being low maintenance. This outdoor renovation also included some eco-friendly upgrades. We renovated an existing sprinkler system so that it uses 60% less water than traditional systems. To keep it easy for the client, we added a custom Ipe wood pool cover box that also serves as a bench. This box contains the solar pool cover that was a challenge to store and an eyesore in the scenery. We introduced succulents and other low water plants in order to reduce the amount of water that is typically required to keep landscapes thriving in Southern California. The new white perimeter gives the kitchen a fresh and clean look while the blue island adds a pop of color and personality. The combination of colors creates a harmonious balance that is both inviting and stylish. It's amazing how a simple color change can completely transform a space and make it feel brand new. Built and designed in the mid-80’s, this space required a full-scale renovation plan that integrated with the existing structure. The brief called for design solutions that appealed to the client’s eclectic taste, as well as a desire for a modern, clean aesthetic. The name of the game - texture, then some more texture. Neutral colors and masculine materials were used throughout to bring it all together. "I hired dado to do a complete redesign of my downtown Denver penthouse. Megan Moore was the lead designer who went out of her way to get to know my personality, tastes, lifestyle and what was important to me. The design was current but not trendy, on budget but not cheap, high style but not pretentious. I could not be more pleased with the process and outcome. We chose finishes that fit the style of the rest of the Woodland Trails home in warm toned tiles, glass mosaic accents, Cambria quartz vanity countertop, oil rubbed bronze fixtures and accessories, custom mirrors, updated lighting, and we also changed the wall color to a warm beige with a neutral green accent wall. The homeowners are ecstatic with the transformation, and we're very proud of the outcome as well!

Reinforced structure, Repair and Refinishing of Wood Bridge in Webster Groves, MO. The torrential rain of July caused the creek above this bridge in Webster Groves to flood and sweeping the bridge 1-2 feet away from its original placement. In addition, supporting posts beneath the bridge that were not originally anchored, slipped and floated away. In order to prevent future movement of the wood bridge and to ensure proper post support, we anchored a ledger to a concrete block, replaced wood support beams, and tied all supporting elements using strong Simpson Strong Ties. After reinforcing the structure to ensure flooding would not negatively impact the bridge, we cleaned all existing wood, replaced rotted bridge boards, and applied a clear natural stain with built-in UV protection that should protect the wood of the bridge and provide an attractive cosmetic appearance for about two years, when it will need to be refinished again. A fun and good outcome for the project.
