This Kitchen Renovation located in Brookline Massachusetts in an old brownstone condominium. The cabinetry was done in a smooth Matte Lacquer with white quartz countertops and glass backsplash. The design was kept simple yet functional to maximize the limited space the clients had. We are thrilled with the outcome and hope this shows that even with a small space, exceptional kitchen design can be created.

An expressive family home in Clapham.
The Brief
The brief was to create a new ground floor. It needed to be a flexible home capable of accommodating guests of all ages whilst maintaining purpose and separation between spaces.
The Solution
We proposed re-routing the hallway to become a central corridor through the ground floor plan. This would connect the rear and front halves of the property across a series of staggered level changes. We also wanted to create an enlarged rear space for entertainment that linked to the garden space.
The removal of an existing courtyard allowed for the insertion of a boot room and relocated WC central to the plan.
Separating the distinctly classical detailing of the front reception and dining room, which emphasises our clients’ favoured style and family backgrounds, from the sleek contemporary rear kitchen and entertainment space was successfully enhanced by the varied format of the timber flooring from Trunk.
Maintaining visual connectivity was achieved by way of two sizeable glazed pocket doors that enable the two halves of the plan to be differentiated from each other. At the same time, the use of internal glazing supports views through the property to the remodelled rear garden.
The bespoke designed kitchen from Eclectic Interiors introduces the user to the modernised rear extension, which features sharp detailing and a splash of colour from the feature media unit designed by our interiors team.
The symmetrical rear elevation carries through to the garden making for an interconnected, seamless transition through the property.
The Result
The combination of classical and contemporary elements marry together well to support flexible family living and entertaining. Our clients are delighted with the outcome and feel that it meets their brief and design aspirations.

This project, executed by the team at Interiors by Maite Granda, showcases a modern, sophisticated living space. The design integrates neutral tones, luxurious textures, and statement decor elements, such as round mirrors, glass cabinetry, and bold lighting fixtures. Comfortable seating arrangements are complemented by subtle geometric patterns and pops of greenery, adding warmth to the minimalist aesthetic. The outcome is a cohesive and inviting space that perfectly balances functionality and elegance.

For this whole home renovation project, located in Skokie, our team had their work cut out for them. The home, which had been built in the late 60s, was completely out of date. The closed layout made the entire main floor feel very dark, while the mixed use of flooring materials also made the space appear choppy.
There was a substantial amount of engineering work to completely open up the entire main level but the outcome is a bright and airy space that feels cohesive throughout. The basement also got a facelift with brand new walls and flooring. The entryway received a fresh coat of stain on the original door with a show-stopping chandelier to crown the area.

We designed two extravagant living rooms, both dressed in eye-catching hues, plush textiles, and detailed finishes. Rich and intricate woodwork and custom tailored window treatments add immense personality and edge while velvet textiles in soft blush and green tones soften up the space, creating intimacy.
Grandiose fireplace design, custom wall murals, and a mixing of prints and patterns keep the style unique yet refined. The outcome of these spaces exude the creative, artistic, and daring style of our clients.
Home located in Tampa, Florida. Designed by Florida-based interior design firm Crespo Design Group, who also serves Malibu, Tampa, New York City, the Caribbean, and other areas throughout the United States.

These clients enjoy cooking and entertaining, so their vision was to open and connect three separate rooms—the kitchen, sitting, and formal dining rooms—to create a single open and modern space where everyone could engage and participate in the activities.
Opening these spaces required complex structural engineering. The wall removals required supporting the loads from the second floor and meeting the engineering requirements for shear wall and lateral support. These beams and their connections to the posts they sit on were a challenge to install because of the complex nature of the home's original framed. All these loads had to be carried through the finished basement below and rest on new footings below the basement floor.
The center kitchen island was expansive, with a single slab countertop that would provide both workspace and counter seating. This slab, at 64x120 and 789 lbs., required careful planning for on-site labor, transfer routing, and precision installation. Natural daylight now floods the space from all directions. Recessed can lighting runs throughout the space, all on dimmers for maximum control of ambiance.
The Better Builders design team guided the selection of hardwoods, staircase details, cabinetry, countertops, tile, and color. The muted palette and clean lines work well with our couple’s eclectic furnishings and artworks. Now, traffic and activities flow better, and every inch of the previously divided space is utilized and enjoyed. The outcome is exactly as our homeowners envisioned…and as we intended.

The owner of this urban residence, which exhibits many natural materials, i.e., exposed brick and stucco interior walls, originally signed a contract to update two of his bathrooms. But, after the design and material phase began in earnest, he opted to removed the second bathroom from the project and focus entirely on the Master Bath. And, what a marvelous outcome!
With the new design, two fullheight walls were removed (one completely and the second lowered to kneewall height) allowing the eye to sweep the entire space as one enters. The views, no longer hindered by walls, have been completely enhanced by the materials chosen.
The limestone counter and tub deck are mated with the Riftcut Oak, Espresso stained, custom cabinets and panels. Cabinetry, within the extended design, that appears to float in space, is highlighted by the undercabinet LED lighting, creating glowing warmth that spills across the buttercolored floor.
Stacked stone wall and splash tiles are balanced perfectly with the honed travertine floor tiles; floor tiles installed with a linear stagger, again, pulling the viewer into the restful space.
The lighting, introduced, appropriately, in several layers, includes ambient, task (sconces installed through the mirroring), and “sparkle” (undercabinet LED and mirrorframe LED).
The final detail that marries this beautifully remodeled bathroom was the removal of the entry slab hinged door and in the installation of the new custom five glass panel pocket door. It appears not one detail was overlooked in this marvelous renovation.

Laborde Condo is a project initiated by Michel Abboud, principal and founder of SOMA Architects. The project is located on the 41st floor of the famous City Spire building in Midtown Manhattan. This condo (condominium) hovering in mid-space over Central Park enjoys panoramic city views all around thanks to its fully glazed façade. The stupefying and full-blown views of Central Park to the North and the Hudson River to the East would have never been visible without our design onto the existing space. Whereas now one can stand in the center of the main living room with an unobstructed and direct experience of New York City from close to 500 feet up in the air, the original space was quite different. Indeed, a bedroom and a bathroom originally existed right in the middle of the now seamless living room, separating what once were 2 different apartment units. Combining both apartments into a single continuous and open space was a natural gesture given the envisioned outcome: standing in that living room and experiencing the best that the city has to offer all-at-once is an unforgettable experience that 'wows' any visitor, even the most blasé.

2011 CAPITAL COTY AWARD GRAND AWARD WINNER
Having just purchased this new home, the owners did not like the disconnection between kitchen and breakfast area. The garden window over the sink was in disrepair, the cabinetry was dark and the room’s flow had no rhyme or reason.
The kitchen, however, had a lot of potential. A new design was put together which involved reframing the garden window to create panoramic viewing. Two skylights were added which really brightened up the space. All of the previous bulkheads were removed to allow stacked cabinetry and upper display cupboards.
A new larger cooking island with angular wings and seating space around it is now the focal point of this kitchen. An additional countertop built on decorative columns offers space for the couple’s children to do their homework or have a snack.
Entire kitchen and breakfast area now has a larger porcelain tile floor laid in a pattern to make the place even larger. Honey-colored maple cabinetry with a slightly rubbed chocolate glaze finish gives a classic but sophisticated look to this kitchen. The marriage of faux painting and brick fascia introduced a unique look into the space.
The homeowners are so thrilled with the outcome, they are considering remodeling the rest of the home.

FORM, FUNCTION AND LIVING SPACE
At the heart of this kitchen design is a handleless island block with an integrated seating area, which serves as the central hub of daily activities. The block is enriched by using BOSSA, a successful natural wood surface program in walnut that gives it a unique, structured appearance. The multi-award winning BOSSA front features linear bars that protrude, creating a warm, uniform look that adds a lively, three-dimensional effect to the kitchen. This was a conscious planning decision to achieve an elegant yet dynamic outcome.

Designer lay. Strategic design of multi variation in colors.
As a designer who oversees every aspect of each project, ease of eye flow is very important to me. Color flow, congruency and keeping the process as to calm the most distinct eye seeking perfection.
To me, being hands on for custom projects as this there is a distinction in the ability to design where the outcome is perfect in its imperfections and no repeat patterning.

Our clients wanted a bigger kitchen to entertain family and friends. They also wanted to spend time outdoors, therefore our designer incorporated a screen porch to the design adjacent to the kitchen area. Natural light was another important request on their wish list, so our designer added large windows with a bench for sitting area which created a relaxing atmosphere in the room. Our client’s last request was to have a small workshop to work on his custom furniture, we extended the basement along with the first floor which provided enough room to work on. Our clients were extremely satisfied with the project outcome. They couldn’t thank us enough about the great experience they had working with us.

HOMEOWNER DESIRED OUTCOME
These new grandparents moved to Dallas to be closer to a new grandchild. The house was in the perfect neighborhood, but as a spec home lacked the necessary design planning the couple was looking for, especially in the kitchen.
OUR CREATIVE SOLUTION
Blackline created a custom island that immediately improved the work flow of the kitchen and added convenient additional bar seating for three. It also featured a new range, plenty of extra storage, and was topped in a show-stopping Daltile polished ‘Copacabana’ Granite.
The new kitchen is bright, functional, and the perfect spot to host family, friends, and of course, grandchildren!
