Inspiration for a rustic wine cellar remodel in Cincinnati

We designed two extravagant living rooms, both dressed in eye-catching hues, plush textiles, and detailed finishes. Rich and intricate woodwork and custom tailored window treatments add immense personality and edge while velvet textiles in soft blush and green tones soften up the space, creating intimacy. Grandiose fireplace design, custom wall murals, and a mixing of prints and patterns keep the style unique yet refined. The outcome of these spaces exude the creative, artistic, and daring style of our clients. Home located in Tampa, Florida. Designed by Florida-based interior design firm Crespo Design Group, who also serves Malibu, Tampa, New York City, the Caribbean, and other areas throughout the United States.

This kitchen got a huge transformation by removing the soffits and installing taller cabinets. They went with a flat Richfield door by Bridgewood in maple. The upper cabinets were done in snow while the lower cabinets and the island were done in pewter. We also installed a new Cambria quartz countertop in Seagrove and a winter metal mosaic backsplash. The grey/white combination paired with Cambria’s Seagrove turned this kitchen into a stunner!! The home owners were ecstatic with the outcome.

The featured table was crafted from two live edge spalted Poplar slabs. This stunning table is 7'6" in length and ranges in width from 43" to 39". The slabs were meticulously planed, sanded, joined, oiled and finished with eight coats of a water base urethane. WEngineer Design offers Live Edge Dining Tables made to fit your desired outcome. The new white perimeter gives the kitchen a fresh and clean look while the blue island adds a pop of color and personality. The combination of colors creates a harmonious balance that is both inviting and stylish. With updated countertops, sleek appliances, and modern fixtures, this kitchen is now not only beautiful but also highly functional. It's amazing how a simple color change can completely transform a space and make it feel brand new. We are so proud of the outcome and grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with such talented individuals on this project.

The clients main concern was their kitchen, fireplace, and floors in the downstairs of their new home. The kitchen table area is the hub of the house and can get congested when everyone is getting ready to go places. She wanted to get rid of the end peninsula and the built in hutch in the kitchen and hated her existing hard to access cabinets. We installed beautiful Waypoint maple cabinets with pull out drawers. Storage was added to the new large island that now sits where their kitchen table used to be, topped with beautiful Cambria Quartz countertops. The wooden hood adds a nice custom look to this now open crisp white kitchen. The fireplace was covered with 6"x24" White Oak multi-finish tile, sitting atop 12"x24" White Oak marble honed tile on the hearth. To finish off the project, all downstairs hardwood floors were refinished, and leveled to match the two front rooms, which were lower than the rest of the house. They wanted to remove the walls downstairs in the front formal living and den making them a new large den/entering room. They also wanted to remove the powder and laundry room from the center of the kitchen, giving them more functional space in the kitchen that was completely opened up to their den. The addition was planned to be one story with a bedroom/game room (flex space), laundry room, bathroom (to serve as the on-suite to the bedroom and pool bath), and storage closet. They also wanted a larger sliding door leading out to the pool. We demoed the entire kitchen, including the laundry room and powder bath that were in the center! The wall between the den and formal living was removed, completely opening up that space to the entry of the house. A small space was separated out from the main den area, creating a flex space for them to become a home office, sitting area, or reading nook. A beautiful fireplace was added, surrounded with slate ledger, flanked with built-in bookcases creating a focal point to the den. Behind this main open living area, is the addition. When the addition is not being utilized as a guest room, it serves as a game room for their two young boys. There is a large closet in there great for toys or additional storage. A full bath was added, which is connected to the bedroom, but also opens to the hallway so that it can be used for the pool bath. The new laundry room is a dream come true! Not only does it have room for cabinets, but it also has space for a much-needed extra refrigerator. There is also a closet inside the laundry room for additional storage. This first-floor addition has greatly enhanced the functionality of this family’s daily lives. Previously, there was essentially only one small space for them to hang out downstairs, making it impossible for more than one conversation to be had. Now, the kids can be playing air hockey, video games, or roughhousing in the game room, while the adults can be enjoying TV in the den or cooking in the kitchen, without interruption! While living through a remodel might not be easy, the outcome definitely outweighs the struggles throughout the process.

BLDG Workshop was engaged to help well known design and lifestyle blogger Lynne Knowlton of Design the Life You Want to Live entirely revamp the kitchen and main living area of her farmhouse. The outcome is an eclectic blend of rustic elements together with modern details.

This modern home with hints of classic design is situated on a hilltop estate in Pacific Palisades, California. Architect and Designer, Michelle Anaya, took on the challenge of renovating the home into the breathtaking residence that it is today. Our client requested a modern minimalist yet elegant bathroom with all natural stone throughout. To achieve that outcome, we conducted a total makeover: flooring, cabinets, shower, and tub. •White marble tiles throughout. •Stunning granite countertop and tub deck that compliment the white tiles. •Custom shaker style maple cabinets with honey stain that brings true warmth to the room. •Under sink drawers to maximize space utilization. •Chrome Hansgrohe fixtures that compliment the minimalist design. •Huge rain showerhead that truly "mimics" a downpour! •Deep under-mount soaker tub that matches the rectangular under-mount sinks. This shot captures both dining and kitchen area. We used 4 colours - turquoise, white, ash grey and earth brown - that on the surface are not exactly complementary but the outcome was great! We accentuated the space with lighting to add character to the open rooms. Note how the corridor light gives an impression of a green wall once it comes in contact with our turquoise wall paint?

2013 NARI Capital CotY, Merit Award Winner, Creative Solutions under $15,000 Objective: This couple was tired of the old brick look of their family room and its embedded fireplace. They wanted to uplift the entire room, with better lighting, updated built ins and new gas log fireplace. Challenges: It was not an easy task to get rid of all masonry and brick wall. Gas lines and powder line were quite distance away and the family room floor was a concrete slab. Design solutions: It was important for the couple to create an optional separation between the family room and the kitchen for times that she is having her book club gang over and husband wanted to watch his sporting events. Part of the wall between kitchen and family room was taken by a closet. We have removed that entire wall and implemented a 6” wide Barn door for a partial solution to their problem. New wiring for light and cable wires were running into the old masonry wall. Gas line gave the old wood burning fireplace and new life. Custom built in cabinetry was placed in place old masonry wall. A new stone hearth and surround wrapped around the new fireplace. New hardwood wide plank flooring gave this family room warmth. New recess lighting has offered a much brighter room. Outcome: He gets to enjoy his favorite football team beat up the rebels while she gets to have her tea party around the kitchen table. And in all other occasions they get to cuddle by the flames of a new fireplace.
