These homeowners needed two bathrooms updated in their home. We started with the Guest Bath which also serves as the Powder Bath for visitors. We wanted to get this bath completed so when we moved on to the Master Bath, the homeowners could have a functioning bath. The space is small so it was important to keep our finishes light. We selected a “wood look” plank tile for the floor to lead you into the space. We surrounded the drop-in tub with a beveled white subway tile. The bevel really gives the tile dimension. We painted the walls Sherwin Williams’ Tony Taupe (SW7038). The strong color looks great against all the white tile.
The original vanity was larger and butted into the wall. We went with a smaller vanity and floated it to make the space feel larger. We found this ready-made cabinet with lots of great detail and storage at a local Building Supply store. We topped it with Cambria’s Bellingham quartz which made the vanity a focal point in the Bath.
Finishing touches are just as important in a Bathroom as any other room in your home. We filled the long wall opposite the vanity with gorgeous floral artwork. The beaded frame on the oval mirror adds a nice touch. This is a beautiful bathroom that feels much larger than it really is. Enjoy!

The great room is shown here in this wide angle shot. This spot is really where everyone who walks into the apartment stands and pauses to soak in the house, the wndows, the views and the feeling of being somewhere calm and restful high up in the sky. We have five functioning areas in this great room - the living room, the dining room, kitchen, breakfast bar and a bar area. When I ceated the flow of this room, I wanted to ensure there was room around the perimeter to explore and mingle. The sofa is a beautiful leather which will age with use over the years. The blue wing chairs are upholstered in a beautiful cashmere wool. The barstools are functional as they tuck under the countertop if required and swivel for party nights. The rug is 100% wool and brings in the greens, blues and tans used everywhere in the house. The coffee table is custom made with a mix of oak and honed carrara marble. The throw pillows are suede leather and linen.

The Kelso's Primary Bathroom is a stunning and luxurious space that exudes elegance and modernity. The bathroom features black cabinet and drawer pulls, as well as black cabinet hardware, adding a touch of sophistication to the design. Black sconces provide stylish and focused lighting, complementing the overall aesthetic. The window trim is also finished in black, creating a cohesive and contemporary look. The bathroom boasts a floating vanity, offering a sleek and minimalist design. A freestanding oval tub serves as a focal point, providing a luxurious and relaxing bathing experience. The gray tile and marble flooring add a touch of sophistication and create a cohesive color palette. Mirrors adorn the walls, reflecting light and creating a sense of spaciousness. The satin nickel hardware adds a subtle contrast and refinement to the design. Stained wood cabinets offer warmth and richness, while white wainscoting adds a classic touch. The Kelso's Primary Bathroom is a perfect blend of modern aesthetics and functional design, providing a serene and inviting space for relaxation and self-care.

This stunning kitchen remodel seamlessly blends functionality and elegance while enhancing the connection to the outdoors. To create an open-concept space, we removed the wall between the kitchen and dining room, maximizing light and flow. The design highlights the beautiful cobblestone patio, outdoor kitchen, and firepit with expanded windows, including an enlarged sink window, a transom window above the sliding door, and an additional window that complements the dining room’s aesthetic.
The new kitchen layout includes two-tone cabinets—ivory and purple—that extend to the ceiling with lit upper glass sections for a striking effect. A large, multifunctional island features double rows of cabinets, a microwave drawer, a beverage cooler, a bar sink, and open shelving for culinary books. Additional elements include a built-in refrigerator, double ovens, a full-height pantry, a coffee center with glass displays, and a window bench with storage drawers. The custom oval dining table expands to accommodate the entire family for special occasions.
Luxurious touches like radiant-heated porcelain tile floors, a subway artisan tile backsplash with mother-of-pearl mosaic accents, motorized blinds, designer lighting, granite sinks, and brushed gold faucets and hardware complete the design. This kitchen is both functional and a showpiece, tailored for cooking, entertaining, and family gatherings.

The lady of the house has a sophisticated and elegant study. Quite different from the kitchen counter piles of paper found in so many homes. The beautiful oval desk placed in the center of the room has file drawers and a book shelf on the front of the desk. There is easy access to the credenza behind the desk and a clear line of sight to the flat screen TV. Grass cloth wallpaper, sumptuous fabrics, hardwood floors, and a timeless oriental area rug come together to make this a comfortable and functional command central for a busy family.

An Ensuite Transformation in Richmond Hill
This project showcases how we helped a wonderful retired couple in Richmond Hill transform their dated and dysfunctional master ensuite into a tranquil spa-like retreat. These lovely empty nesters, in their mid to late 70s, envisioned a space where they could truly relax and enjoy their time at home, especially when their family and grandkids came to visit. We were so honored to help them bring that vision to life.
Understanding Their Needs:
From our initial conversations, it was clear how much this couple valued comfort and tranquility. The existing ensuite, unfortunately, fell short of providing either. For the wife, the leaky deck-mount tub was a major disappointment, as she deeply cherished her long, hot baths. The husband, meanwhile, was eager to replace the outdated and cumbersome toilet/bidet combo with a modern, single-piece smart toilet – a desire for both convenience and a touch of modern luxury. The shower stall was cramped, dark, and plagued by mold, while the large double vanity, despite its size, lacked functional storage. It simply wasn't the relaxing oasis they deserved.
Addressing Their Concerns:
We understood that undertaking a renovation can be stressful, especially when you're not going to be on-site for much of the process. This couple was understandably concerned about potential delays, workmanship quality, and the possibility of unforeseen issues arising while they were away. We made it our priority to address each of these concerns with transparency, open communication, and a commitment to delivering on our promises.
Our Personalized Solutions:
We worked closely with the couple to develop solutions that perfectly matched their needs and desires:
● A Sanctuary for Soaking: The leaky deck-mount tub was replaced with a beautiful, freestanding oval tub – easier to access and offering a more contemporary aesthetic. The wife's vision of a small decorative table nearby for her bath essentials added a personal touch, creating a true spa-like experience.
● Modern Comfort and Convenience: The separate toilet and bidet were replaced with a sleek, high-tech smart toilet, fulfilling the husband's wish and adding a touch of modern luxury to their daily routine.
● A Bright and Inviting Shower: The cramped and moldy shower stall was completely transformed. We demolished the existing bulkhead and built a custom walk-in shower with frameless glass, a built-in bench, and a niche for toiletries. The result was a dramatically brighter and more spacious shower experience.
● Storage and Style: A semi-custom double vanity with ample cabinets and drawers was installed, finally providing each of them with dedicated storage and eliminating
countertop clutter. This seemingly small change made a huge difference in their daily lives.
● A Calming Atmosphere: We carefully selected a calming spa-like color palette, incorporating muted, neutral tones and high-quality finishes to create a truly relaxing and inviting atmosphere.
Navigating the Challenges Together:
Renovations rarely go perfectly smoothly, and this project was no exception. We encountered delays with plumbing fixture deliveries, which threatened our timeline. However, by leveraging our established relationships with reliable suppliers, we were able to find alternative solutions
and minimize the impact on the project schedule. We also faced a minor setback when the initially chosen grey vanity went out of stock. Working closely with the couple, we explored other options and ultimately selected a stunning sandstone-stained maple finish, which, as it turned out, complemented the other design elements beautifully. These moments reinforced the importance of open communication and collaboration throughout the process.
The Joy of Transformation:
The final result was truly remarkable. The transformed ensuite is a testament to the power of thoughtful design and meticulous execution. The space now features large-format, light-colored concrete-look porcelain tiles, creating a bright and airy feel. The sandstone-stained maple vanity, topped with a quartz countertop, serves as a beautiful focal point against the muted green walls. Matte black plumbing fixtures, hardware, and accessories add a touch of modern sophistication. The custom frameless shower glass enclosure enhances the spaciousness of the shower, while the smart toilet provides the ultimate in comfort and convenience.
A Space to Cherish:
The renovation has made a profound difference in this couple's daily lives. The wife can now indulge in her beloved long, hot baths in a truly tranquil setting. The husband enjoys the modern convenience of his new smart toilet. The spacious and bright walk-in shower is both beautiful and functional. And the new vanity provides ample storage, keeping the countertop clutter-free and contributing to the overall sense of peace and calm. This ensuite is no longer just a bathroom; it's a personal spa, a sanctuary within their home, where they can relax, rejuvenate, and enjoy their time together.
Memorable Moments and Hiccups:
● Budget Adjustment: After finalizing the initial design, we worked closely with the clients to reselect the freestanding tub to ensure it aligned perfectly with their budget. ● Vanity Setback: The unexpected out-of-stock situation with the original vanity color required a quick and effective re-selection process, which ultimately led to an even better design outcome. This highlighted the importance of flexibility and collaboration during a renovation.
