This modern zen-like kitchen is finished in Columbia frameless rift white oak composite and walnut cabinets with accents of aluminum frame doors with frosted glass. The panel front doors on the refrigerator allow it to seamlessly blend into the pantry. The white striated tile back-splash goes from counter to ceiling. The counter tops are Caesarstone Frosty Carina, while the island is a black walnut butcher block. Stainless steel is incorporated in the range hood, modern faucet, and farmhouse sink. Because of the gorgeous variation of our Patina glaze, you can use just this one color and end up with a backsplash that is just as interesting as if you used 5 colors. Using a classic subway tile shape, but not as conventional 4"x8" size, these homeowners used our Patina Subway Tile all over their kitchen. White, gold green and a splash of red color scheme. Geometric pattern green and white harlequin tiles with open wood shelving sit over the cabinetry and stove/oven. Woven pendant lights/lamps and woven window coverings accent the brass hardware. Kitchen was remodeled so rooms are open and tile is dancing with the abundant foliage outside.

This charming Lyon Park house was built in 1925, when the typical kitchen was small, modest and closed-off from the rest of the home. For a family that loves to cook and bake, the cramped, outdated and dysfunctional kitchen was a source of constant frustration. Our new design expanded the kitchen into an adjacent sunroom, opening it up to the rest of the home and creating a spacious, light and updated kitchen that now serves as the heart of the home. We more than doubled the amount of countertop space and added much needed pantry storage as well as a dedicated coffee nook. The bold blue herringbone backsplash, honed black granite, white shaker cabinets and substantial matte black pulls complement the rustic modern style of the adjoining living space.

Another update project we did in the same Townhome community in Culver city. This time more towards Modern Farmhouse / Transitional design. Kitchen cabinets were completely refinished with new hardware installed. The black island is a great center piece to the white / gold / brown color scheme. The Master bathroom was transformed from a plain contractor's bathroom to a true modern mid-century jewel of the house. The black floor and tub wall tiles are a fantastic way to accent the white tub and freestanding wooden vanity. Notice how the plumbing fixtures are almost hidden with the matte black finish on the black tile background. The shower was done in a more modern tile layout with aligned straight lines. The hallway Guest bathroom was partially updated with new fixtures, vanity, toilet, shower door and floor tile. that's what happens when older style white subway tile came back into fashion. They fit right in with the other updates.

Thompson Remodeling updated this master bath by removing an existing garden tub and replacing it with a tiled, walk-in shower. The new shower features a tile accent wall and details, soap and shampoo niches, and a bench. Other updates include the new cultured marble countertop with ceramic tile backsplash and tile flooring.
