Over time, a well-loved painted furniture piece will show distinctive signs of wear and use. Each chip and dent tells a story of its history through layers of paint. With its beautifully aged surface and chipped edges, Dura Supreme’s Heritage Paint collection is designed to resemble a cherished family heirloom.
Dura Supreme artisans hand-detail the surface to create the look of time worn distressing. Finishes are layered to emulate the look of furniture that has been refinished over the years. A layer of stain is covered with a layer of paint with special effects to age the surface. The paint is then chipped away along corners and edges to create, the signature look of Heritage Paint.
Dura Supreme’s Heritage Paint collection, of finishes can be selected on Maple for a smooth surface or Knotty Alder for a more rugged, rustic look. A beautiful palette of soft muted colors is available on any of our raised or flat panel door styles to create the perfect focal point for your home.

The industrious clients came to us with dreams of a new garage structure to provide a home for all of their passions. The design came together around a three car garage with room for a micro-brewery, workshop and bicycle storage – all attached to the house via a new three season porch – and a native prairie landscape and sauna structure on the roof.

Although this kitchen was beautiful, it had only one window and the cherry cabinetry and counter tops made the space very dark. The homeowners wanted to brighten up the kitchen with a lighter finish on the cabinets. We painted the cabinets with General Finishes Milk Paint in Antique White and I hand-glazed everything with Van Dkye Brown Glaze Effects which brought out the details in the molding and completely transformed this kitchen. They love how it turned out and so do I! To see more photos of this kitchen transformation, visit my Facebook page, Classic Fauxs and Finishes.

The 10 Lite V-Groove glass door takes the classic French door to a new level, featuring elegant etched and grooved glass and beveled grids. The door’s simple, yet stylish design is understated and classy. This door is offered in a variety of 9 wood species to compliment any interior including: primed white, pine, oak, knotty pine, fir, maple, knotty alder, cherry and African mahogany. Optional 8-foot tall doors are available in primed white and pine species only.

Eventually we plan to remodel the bathroom but for now, we just had enough budget for paint and a few accessories. The cabinets were knotty pine (same as the kitchen) so I primed (two coats), painted a semi-gloss white (three coats), lined the drawers and shelves with a pretty paper and splurged on knobs from Anthropologie. The mirror I found years ago at an antiques fair and the wall pillows are from Stepanka on Etsy. The French antique tureen holds Restoration Hardware hand towels and a small Brabantia garbage can completes the bathroom.
