I like mixing inexpensive and expensive items to get an elegant look. I like to save money where I can but make a statement in other places. In this case the chandelier cost twice as much as the dining table AND chairs but it is in the center of the space and seen from all over and well worth it. Small dining rooms can be daunting to furnish. You need to make sure your dining table can seat guests comfortably while allowing enough space to move around freely. If you cannot find one in the correct size, a custom table is the answer. Due to the shape of this dining room, we had a custom rectangular table made to fit the space. It is an added bonus if you can carve out enough space for a small console table. This can serve as a bar area or as buffet space when needed. A substantial house in one of the Peninsula’s most desirable neighborhoods, this residence was home to a busy family of five looking to design spaces that welcomed their large extended family and friends. For the living room, we were tasked with creating an architectural, elegant space to seat fifteen. A den/library highlights the homeowner’s passion for green. In the powder room, we selected green and navy grasscloth wallpaper for a burst of vibrancy.
