Today we are featuring another D77 Project by Tim and Camet Runkel at Beautiful Brush Works! I am always excited to share with you about the endless possibilities of Design 7 Seven Acrylic Glaze. Wow, another beautiful performance from Design 7 Seven Glaze! This 2 tone metallic finish was achieved using a small portion of D77 in my metallics, only about 20% and a splash of water and then worked lightly with tools to erase work lines. Used the D77 in both the Silver base layer and in the golden bronze top layer, and. Voila ! it looks sprayed. The D77 absolutely made this possible, because it gave me the ability to soften the metallic work lines and work from one section into another and then gel out to a flawless finish! I've never used anything like it. I love being able to use products to glaze with that normally dry so quickly that they are difficult to glaze with. Such as Metallics, acrylic stains, acrylic polyurethanes lime products, and many art acrylics. And D77 is phenomenal in metallics! You don’t have to dilute the metallic with glaze so much that it requires many layers to achieve the metallic luster. I even use a small amount in my clear acrylic top coats to have time to work the product over the surface, and increase the dry time a small amount to allow it to level to a rich, smooth, even, finish. We are excited to share our latest project a Modern Farmhouse. Our client loves East Coast style this was fun to create with the best bones we had to just select phenomenal materials to make this space look fantastic! Center stage is this great window with a view of a backyard oasis. The cabinetry is special and unique with doors that you can’t find everywhere. Take a close look at the details!! We blocked out the corner of the kitchen where the subzero refrigerator freezer is located to create a space for the pullout pantries that are located on each side of the ref/freezer. It is a design element but I prefer to cover the dishwasher to have an uninterrupted are that makes the sink a focal point. This kitchen sink is a native trails concrete farm sink which pairs perfectly with the caesarstone rugged concrete countertop. Custom made hood with charred wood that is the perfect accent to a subway tile that has rustic elements. In the center is a 36" wolf range, off to the left finishing out this kitchen is a steam unit. Complete Gut Renovation: DOB Permit required for 2 Bedroom, 1 and 1/2 bath prewar in estate condition. Created a great open room for kitchen/dining/living room by removing walls between kitchen and living room, opening doorways, changing and adding closets, upgrading electric to 100 AMPs. The additional glass double depth storage over the peninsula opened the space between the kitchen and the dining/living room. The washer and dryer were included, with the bonus of a true powder room off the kitchen. The refinished dark original floors were a perfect finish for a phenomenal transformation! Construction Duration: 3 1/2 months

This project was designed with with a neutral color concept that would appeal to a large audience. We Incorporated contemporary elements throughout the home to give an elegant updated feel. The interior walls are painted our favorite color Sculptor Clay by Behr. The flooring is a laminate product from the lake series collection by Pacific Materials, Color “Glacier”. The cabinetry is a semi custom product by Homecrest. Cherry wood with a dark espresso stain and Shaker style doors . The Countertops are a Quartz product from Silestone called “Blanco City”. The stainless steel appliances are from Whirlpool and the kitchen Backsplash is from Emser tile (The Unique Collection, Color is Lyric). The Bathroom tile is a 12X24 Skybridge “off white” from Dal Tile, the plumbing fixtures are all Delta “Ara” Chrome finished. The home was perfectly staged by our exclusive partners at Onstage Staging. This project finished with phenomenal feedback and a wonderful new owner.

Raza and Baneen purchased their home in Schaumburg IL. knowing it needed work, but they saw the incredible potential it had with its expanse of beautiful kitchen windows and spacious floor plan. The kitchen technically functioned fine, but was desperately outdated with its honey oak cabinets and plain countertops. This family loved to cook and host parties so it was an easy decision that the kitchen remodel was the first project they needed to tackle to make their home come to life. Baneen had very specific ideas for her new dream kitchen and had been thinking about it for over 10 years! When they met Advance Design’s Project Designer Claudia Pop, Baneen felt an instant connection. “From the first meeting, I knew that Claudia would guide us without putting down our ideas,” Baneen said. The couple had two fears common among remodeling home owners: Would the project be done on time? And, would the project stay on budget? Advance Design was able to alleviate their fears early on, as Claudia shared the “Common Sense Remodeling” process. Raza and Baneen absolutely loved the custom project analysis that helped them understand how a budget could be accurately predicted and then safeguarded during the design process. “Advance Design was spot on with both the budget and the project timeframe,” Baneen said. “Overall there were no surprises, and the budget was exactly what we were quoted. The experience was phenomenal, everybody was professional, everybody was courteous, everyone was nice, everyone was friendly. It wasn't stressful for us, they still left the house in a presentable state. It wasn't like we would come home and we were bring the kids in and it was going to be hazardous." After the relationship was cemented, Raza, Baneen and Claudia began to finalize the kitchen design. The main objective was to create a functional space for preparing meals and to create an inviting space for their family and friends to enjoy, while incorporating interesting design elements such as the iconic blue island and reclaimed Chicago brick walls. Sufficient storage space was really important to Baneen, and high quality appliances were a priority. As the overall layout was being completed, together they reviewed each cabinet to determine exactly what would be stored there. Because cooking was a high priority for this family, Claudia incorporated spice racks close to the range and included two mixer lift shelves for their larger countertop appliances. The focal point of the kitchen is the striking blue island constructed from custom colored Dura Supreme cabinets. Designed with decorative shelving and a highly functional prep sink. The couple loves the “galley” prep sink, it adds even more functionality and significantly shortens preparation and cleaning time. This island also includes a 24" Bosch Dishwasher with matching panel to blend in. "Aesthetically, and in terms of functionality, the island everything I imagined," Baneen said. "I love how beautiful it looks and how functional it is. It just brings everybody together." The Praa Sands Quartz countertop with an ogee edge profile provides excellent contrast by blending it's subtle tones with the outer cabinetry. It ties the island together with the rest of the space. Overlooking the beautiful backyard through spacious windows, the crisp white farmhouse sink is something that Baneen envisioned in her kitchen for years. Two tones of Dura Supreme Cabinetry were used throughout the rest of the kitchen. Chestnut Cherry cabinets grace the range and decorative range hood and as panels over the Wolf refrigerator and freezer. Antique White cabinets surround the perimeter, creating a warm balance that beckons guests into the softly rounded space. Drawing the eye immediately to the custom wood hood hiding a powerful 1,500 CFM ventilation system and spectacular 60” Duel Fuel Wolf range, a creatively patterned Tessen in Café & Brine backsplash detail stands out from the white subway tile backsplash spanning the outer walls. The vibrant space reflects the lively personality of the family who now loves spending time both cooking and enjoying this kitchen as a family. “The end result is a beautiful and extremely functional kitchen that is able to handle a growing family, lots of parties and lots of cooking,” Claudia said. “Advance Design was wonderfully professional and a pleasure to work with. They catered to what my needs and ideas were, while skillfully guiding us to make the right choices where we seemed lost,” Baneen said.

These clients were in desperate need of a new master bedroom and bath. We redesigned the space into a beautiful, luxurious Master Suite. The original bedroom and bath were gutted and the footprint was expanded into an adjoining office space. The new larger space was redesigned into a bedroom, walk in closet, and spacious new bath and toilet room. The master bedroom was tricked out with custom trim work and lighting. The new closet was filled with organized storage by Diplomat Closets ( West Chester PA ). Lighted clothes rods provide great accent and task lighting. New vinyl flooring ( a great durable alternative to wood ) was installed throughout the bedroom and closet as well. The spa like bathroom is exceptional from the ground up. The tile work from true marble floors with mosaic center piece to the clean large format linear set shower and wall tiles is gorgeous. Being a first floor bath we chose a large new frosted glass window so we could still have the light but maintain privacy. Fieldstone Cabinetry was designed with furniture toe kicks lit with LED lighting on a motion sensor. What else can I say? The pictures speak for themselves. This Master Suite is phenomenal with attention paid to every detail. Luxury Master Bath Retreat!

This project is one of the most extensive TVL scopes to date! This house sits in a phenomenal site location in Golden and features a number of incredible and original architectural details. However, years of shifting had caused massive structural damage to the home on both the main and basement levels, resulting in shifting door frames, split drywall, and sinking floors. These shifts prompted the clients to seek remodeling assistance in the beginning of their renovation adventure. At first, the scope involved a new paint and lighting scheme with a focus on wall repair and structural improvement. However, the scope eventually evolved into a re-design of the entire home. Few spaces in this house were left untouched, with the remodeling scope eventually including the kitchen, living room, pantry, entryway and staircase, master bedroom, master bathroom, full basement, and basement bedrooms and bathrooms. Expanding the scope in this way allowed for a design that is cohesive space to space, and creates an environment that captures the essence of the family's persona at every turn. There are many stunning elements to this renovation, but a few favorites include the insanely gorgeous custom steel elements at the front entry, Tharp custom cabinetry in the kitchen and pantry, and unique stone in just about every room of the house. Our clients for this project are both geologists. This alone opened an entire world of unique interest in material that we have never explored before. From natural quartzite countertops that mimic mountain ranges to silky metallic accent tiles behind the bathtub, this project does not shy away from unique stone finds and accents. Conceptually, the clients' love for stone and natural elements is present just about everywhere: the dining room chandelier conceptually takes the form of stalactite, the island pendants are formed concrete, stacked stone adorns the large back wall of the shower, and a back-lit onyx art piece sits in a dramatic niche at the home's entry. We love the dramatic result of this renovation and are so thrilled that our clients can enjoy a home that truly reflects their passions for years to come!
