The visual physical connection of our home continues between the living room and the back deck. Modern double doors lead you to an elevated, screened-in porch perfect for Outer Banks outdoor living, plus the view outside makes you feel as though you’re in a tree house!
Notice the deliberate placement of abundant windows throughout the living room. They transform the space into a serene perch amidst the treetops.
In the tradition of classical craftsman home interiors, the living room stands as the dedicated space for socialization and relaxation. The room often boasts grand hearths and chimneys that dominate the space, contributing to its timeless charm.
The built-in, electric heater is our modern take on a fireplace and is still a key feature point of the living room. The stone facade and wooden mantel are signatures from the past that are ultimately the centerpieces of the room. A modern touch is evident in our built-in gas heater, a contemporary interpretation of the traditional fireplace that remains a focal point in the living room.
Another feature of today’s contemporary craftsman rendition of living areas and dens, you will often find a television strategically mounted as a focal point of the room, reflecting the evolving needs of modern living, seamlessly blending tradition with convenience.

Remarkable Condo Transformation at Grand Preserve
Welcome to our latest project reveal: the stunning transformation of a 2,885 SF luxury condo. Join us as we take you on a room-by-room tour of this beautiful space and share the before and after moments that will leave you speechless. From a completely upgraded kitchen to a luxurious master bathroom, the results of our redesign have created an elegant, comfortable, and inviting living space that perfectly blends style and functionality. Let's dive in and explore the meticulous details of this awe-inspiring transformation.
Reworked Front Entryway:
A first impression sets the tone for the overall experience, and that is precisely what we aimed to achieve with the front entryway. We reconfigured this area to make it more welcoming and functional, adding stylish yet practical elements that would make any guest feel instantly at home. By removing a large, outdated built-in console, we gave this space an instant refresh and created a more visually harmonious entryway.
Completely Upgraded Kitchen:
The heart of every home is the kitchen, and this luxury condo got the full treatment. We replaced the old cabinetry with new, contemporary flat front cabinets, and installed white quartz countertops that ooze elegance. The addition of a new white beauty quartz island provides ample space for meal prep or casual dining, while the custom tile backsplash adds a stunning visual element. As the cherry on top, we installed top-of-the-line appliances for the ultimate cooking experience.
Open Floor Plan:
To create a more open and inviting living space, we removed the wall between the morning room and dining room. This smart design move allowed natural light to flow through the entire space, making it feel even larger and more welcoming. By connecting these two areas visually and physically, we created the perfect setting for entertaining guests or enjoying a cozy night in.
Master Bedroom Makeover:
The master bedroom needed a breath of fresh air, and that's exactly what it got. We removed the dated carpeting and replaced it with new, elegant flooring that gives the room a more sophisticated and polished appearance. In this sanctuary, you can now enjoy a soothing and tranquil retreat away from everyday life.
Master Bath Overhaul:
A complete overhaul was in order for the master bathroom, and we went all out to create a spa-like oasis. The once-cramped space was opened up, and new, stunning flooring was installed. We added custom cabinetry for optimal storage and organization, and topped them with gorgeous new white quartz countertops. The shower was upgraded with elegant tile and the addition of a practical yet luxurious shower seat.
New Exterior Sliding doors:
Last but not least, we made a significant improvement to the exterior of the luxury condo by adding new, high-quality sliding doors. These not only enhance the condo's aesthetic appeal but also create a seamless indoor-outdoor living experience by providing easy access to a breathtaking outdoor space.
This remarkable luxury condo transformation attests to the positive impact of thoughtful design and expert craftsmanship. Every detail of the project reflects our dedication to delivering a comfortable and stylish haven for our clients. The end result? A 2,885 SF wonderland that elevates everyday living and provides the perfect backdrop for making memories that will last a lifetime. We hope this transformation inspires you to reimagine your own living spaces and create the sanctuary you've been dreaming of.

Nothing says "I love you" more than a kitchen renovation! These homeowners decided to celebrate their nuptials in the best possible way- with a new kitchen! We love how elegant the space is with the Pewter finish by Wolf Cabinetry, the classic white quartz, and herringbone tile backsplash. We wish you many years of beautiful memories- enjoy!
Cabinets: Wolf Classic Dartmouth 5 piece in Pewter.
Countertop: Calacatta Verona Q Stone
Backsplash: Herringbone- Emma White 3X6 Subway
Flooring: Mannington Vinyl plank- AduraMax Lakeview/Treeline MAX093
Additional project notes: Wolf soft close rollout, double trash pullout, wire tray divider
Thoughts from the customers:
1. What were you looking for in your remodel?
We were looking to completely redo the space. We knew we needed a new layout to accommodate the need for more storage, but also to update the extremely outdated cabinets, flooring, etc. to bring it out of 1960 and into 2020.
2. What do you love most about your remodel?
I obviously love that everything is brand new. My favorite physical feature is definitely the new backsplash and countertops that we chose! I also have never had soft close drawers so those are spectacular!
3. What was your main concern when deciding on a remodeling company?
We really just didn’t want it to take a long time! We were at home during the whole thing because of the pandemic, so it was not realistic to live without a kitchen for months.
4. What made you choose O’Hanlon Kitchens? Would you recommend O’Hanlon Kitchens?
Tracy was a great designer, and we ultimately went with O’Hanlon because she discovered some details about the kitchen and it’s functional space that others overlooked and even we didn’t notice. She was then able to render a very nice drawing of what we could expect our kitchen to look like, which was helpful. Yes, I would recommend O’Hanlon!

This new home sits perched atop a cliff with views stretching from the bay to the ocean. The two distinct bars, positioned in response to the pie shaped site and the natural topographic features, splay out towards the view while physically connected by a glass volume. One bar houses all the private spaces, while the other houses the more public spaces. Serving as the entry/gallery, the glass volume both joins and separates the functions associated with the two bars. The forward volume captures the Northern light for the artist's painting studio located within.

A family that spends a lot of time in and around their beautiful saltwater pool, did not have a place in their home that provided them a visual or physical connection. They also lacked any storage for all their pool “stuff”. With small children and a love for entertaining, they needed a room that served and supported their watery lifestyle. We took over an empty and unused notch along the back of the house adjacent to the pool patio to create a new bright and airy pool house.
The new out building attempts to unify 4 areas; an existing deck, an upper master bedroom balcony, a lower lawn, and the pool itself, and provide the missing storage. By locating the pool house at the juxtaposition of these areas, the new room was able to provide a new expanded rooftop balcony for the master, anchor and define the dining and barbeque deck, extend and connect to the pool and patio, and create a new access to integrate the lower lawn – and carve out the much needed storage for the variety of pool toys and equipment.
The building itself is 400 sf with bath, laundry, storage, mechanical, kitchen, and living. A single new secure connection is made into the house through the existing mudroom. Clad with crisply detailed ship lap cedar, it draws on the existing material palate of the house and nods to the boat aesthetic in expression and efficiency. With pocketing glass walls the pool house is both the utility building needed, and an expansion of the vibrant pool scene itself, inside and outside, along the poolside.

Maximum Features for the Ultimate Experience
It's for those seeking better wellness – fitness, work-life-balance, enriched personal connections. It's a path to find some joy in your physical, mental, and emotional states. That's what we had in mind when we designed the E2000 swim spa.
We combined our exclusive resistance current with luxurious jetted massage seats and wrapped it in one beautiful, low-maintenance package. Swim, run, or exercise in temperate 85-degree water in the front, then unwind at 104 degrees inside the spa area at the back. The E2000 gives you complete control, without sacrifice.

After deciding to age-in-place and encountering physical limitations, the clients wanted to create single level living in their Arlington Cape Cod home, where they have lived for 27 years. They wanted an open, light-filled space for themselves and for entertaining, space to put often-used items that had been relegated to the basement and leave the 2nd floor as-is for guests, all while maintaining the integrity of the exterior style and interior character of their 1946 home and neighborhood.

This remodel negotiates the owner’s desire for a modern home with the municipality’s desire to maintain the home’s ‘historic’ character. To satisfy these potentially conflicting interests, our strategy restores the house’s shell while completely gutting the interior to achieve greater connections to the landscape beyond and between previously disconnected levels on the interior.
At the exterior, new doors and windows with black frames hint at the elegant and restrained aesthetic that guides the design throughout. Similarly, a new cantilevered deck at the rear and new French doors at the front create connections to outside that echo the new spatial openness of the reorganized interior.
The original home, although two stories, functioned like a single story home. To remedy this, the primary formal move was to remove the center of the home and insert a new, open stair that visually and physically connects the two levels. To take advantage of this, the lower level was enlarged and completely refinished to provide two new bedrooms, a music room, a playroom, and a bathroom. Similarly, the upper level was completed updated with a new master suite, an updated bathroom, new finishes in the main living spaces, and a new Henrybuilt Kitchen.

Work: Full Gut renovation- 2 apartments- in the same ‘S’ line
Size: 650 Sq Ft of space in both apartments, 5S and 4S
Using the Frankfurt Kitchen of 1926 for inspiration, Ms.Cianfaglione began asking herself how the typology of the NYC kitchenette for her building, in the ‘S’ line, needed to be upgraded to fit today’s physical and aesthetic needs. The Frankfurt Kitchen was the forerunner of modern fitted kitchens and had an unified concept to enable efficient work, consolidating a woman’s efforts and allowing her more time to spend else ware. But unlike the Frankfurt kitchen, Ms. Cianfaglione wanted to take this a step further and open it up rather than concealing it, and its user, inside a room. This would showcase the designer’s evolved notion of “cooking”,that would now become an orchestrated dance to be put on display.
Ms. Cianfaglione had a typical NYC kitchenette, a small room with an air grille for ventilation, and in this case, there was a small window that was currently blocked by a refrigerator. There was also the problem of the foyer space, which was just a waste in an apartment this small, and the structural wall that could not be removed. Ms. Cianfaglione responded to these conditions by designing the kitchen to become a wrap around condition, in an ‘L’ shape, that would use the foyer more effectively and at the same time, face the living area, and all the while concealing the structural wall that separates them.
The interesting thing about the ‘L’ shape was that it allows for a beautifully orchestrated flow that makes cooking look like a beautiful dance that moves back and forth along the’ L.’
The appliances are designed within the cabinetry to give a tailored look that does not allow for distraction, and you instead focus on the user. This renovation made the otherwise small, unused foyer and ineffective kitchen, now a focal point that dictates movement throughout. The kitchen has unified and designed an otherwise standard one bedroom apartment and seeks to become a new standard in this building’s typology.

This 2 Storey modern home shouts relaxation and physically expresses itself as the festive holiday retreat that it is.

When culinary photographer, chef, and media personality Megan and her husband Mark came to us for his- and hers- bathroom remodels, We knew the collaboration would yield incredible results! They had exciting inspirations for their baths and were willing to explore some out-of-box design concepts that made the dual project especially enticing. In the hallway bath, they were hoping to make better use of adjacent space and enlarge the room to create a spa getaway for Megan. Meanwhile, their en suite master bath was outdated and seriously lacking in both style and storage for Mark's taste. They came prepared to our initial consultation with several inspiration photos to work off of for both space planning and material selections. Megan’s inspirations were light, airy, and leaned into some beautiful physical and visual textures. Mark’s inspirations were dark, moody, and included woodworking details and wainscoting reminiscent of a cigar lounge or country club.

The open concept Great Room includes the Kitchen, Breakfast, Dining, and Living spaces. The dining room is visually and physically separated by built-in shelves and a coffered ceiling. Windows and french doors open from this space into the adjacent Sunroom. The wood cabinets and trim detail present throughout the rest of the home are highlighted here, brightened by the many windows, with views to the lush back yard. The large island features a pull-out marble prep table for baking, and the counter is home to the grocery pass-through to the Mudroom / Butler's Pantry.

I cleared the energy of this home, rearranged some furniture and accessories, as well as added a few accessories. This home was already well designed and decorated and simply needed to be freshened up energetically and physically.
