The artisan tradition has never been more alluring. Tracing its visual inspiration to factories of the early 20th century, the Artesso Kitchen Collection by Brizo® is a warmer, more refined take on the industrial aesthetic. Born out of the spirit of the industrial revolution, Artesso combines inspiration from factories and forged metal to farming tools and inventions of the time. These elements give it the unique ability to be rustic and masculine, while still maintaining a sophisticated unexpected allure.

The family room/ sunroom features a delicate mix of modern and craftsman style. With the focus on landscape and lake views, we created a space that blends seamlessly into the verdant surrounding and exudes the warmth inviting for complete relaxation. The design reinterprets craftsman style details of the main cottage into a more modern approach with intricate tile layouts and wood inserts, highlighting the natural wood ceiling beam details. The fireplace creates a focal gathering point for the family surrounded by views on both sides. We have sourced furniture from antique dealers and local artisans to create a mix of modern and refined, old and new. Featuring tapestry rug by Märta Måås-Fjetterström, belgian sofa and client’s favorite Mole armchair by Sergio Rodriguez.

Extraordinary impressions of the old world were created in this Tuscan-style home. Stucco exterior walls and wrought iron fixtures give a handmade, rustic look that exemplifies the architectural style. The plaster interior walls, artfully crafted, embrace the home's romance with the past. Their surface is a blend of colors created on site with a wax patina applied to some of the walls. The remarkable feeling of elegant antiquity is aided by the home's floors, which were created from reclaimed wood. Our carpenters gave the large beams in the great room and kitchen a rustic radiance through modern distressing techniques.

Simple Nantucket style white wainscot and a palette of cool blues, greens, and neutrals evoke that sense of sun, sea and sky. A built-in bench on the staircase landing with hidden bookshelves serves as a cozy reading nook or a place to tie shoes before heading out the door.

Working from the existing home’s deficits, we designed a bright and classic home well-suited to today’s living. Instead of a dark tunnel-like entry, we have a skylight custom curving stair that no one can believe is not original. Instead of a maze of rooms to reach the gorgeous park-like backyard, we have a clear central axis, allowing a sightline right through from the top of the stairs. Instead of three bedrooms scattered all over the house, we have zoned them to the second floor, each well-proportioned with a true master suite. Painted wood paneling, face-frame cabinets, box-beam beilings and Calacatta counters express the classic grandeur of the home.
