First step was to create two levels; an upper one with lounge chairs, BBQ and outdoor dining area; and a lower one with chaise lounges and a large covered outdoor living room highlighted by a stone feature wall with fireplace and TV. Several beautiful features make this jacuzzi spa and swimming pool inviting for family and guests. The spa cantilevers over the pool . There is a four foot infinity edge water feature pouring into the pool. A lazy river water feature made out of moss boulders also falls over the pool's edge adding a pleasant, natural running water sound to the surroundings. The pool deck is exposed aggregate. Seat bench walls and the exterior of the hot tub made of moss rock veneer and capped with flagstone. The coping was custom fabricated on site out of flagstone. Retaining walls were installed to border the softscape pictured. We also installed an outdoor kitchen and pergola next to the home.

Kaihani wanted to create a space that reminded her of Hawaii. A vacation getaway in her own backyard. We revamped the pool, adding a flowing water feature and glowing stones. We resurfaced the deck with hardy Ipe wood and travertine. And we created a cozy seating area next to an elegant fire pit. To get to Hawaii, Kaihani only has to step out her back door. This young Toronto family wanted to maximize use of a very small severely sloping yard, so they created a series of decks on multiple levels. Custom cedar fencing along the sides provides privacy, while the protective wall of tempered glass along the front allows a full view of the "plunge" pool. The modern look is extended with a deck of acid-etched architectural concrete and an elevated 8' wide sheer descent waterfall adds a final touch of drama. The pool equipment at the back will be out of view in the cabana when it is built. (12 x 27, rectangular)

This elegant weekend country home east of Toronto is located on a steep slope, so pool and deck are elevated, negating the need for pool fencing. The pool has a "visual" zero edge created by a 3" tempered glass wall along the shallow end which accentuates the panoramic view over the valley. The expansive deck has separate sections of exposed pink granite aggregate and Brazilian Ipe hardwood. An ultra-modern cabana features a washroom, change room, equipment room and outdoor shower. The pool is outfitted with 3 LED colored lights, as well as 3 separate benches measuring 4’0” long. There is a 6’7” sun shelf adjacent to the hot tub that has 3 LED colored bubbler jets. Additionally there is a 16” x 16’ long step situated just 1” below the water line. The waterline, hot tub top and step are cladded with Valders Limestone. The pool coping is 3” thick x 18” wide Valders Limestone in Gray, with a bevelled edge detail. The pool also features an in-floor cleaning system. Covering both the pool and hot tub is an automatic hydraulic pool cover system with a custom stone walk-on lid system and a hidden leading edge bar detail. At the end opposite the hot tub is an infinity edge system. Behind the pool on the side with the hot tub is a raised wall water feature. Both the raised wall and the infinity edge basin are illuminated with LED lighting. This pool’s black flagstone deck was installed to align perfectly with the pool’s overflow edge. An underground surge tank collects the water and pumps it back into the pool at the bottom, so the water at the surface is like a mirror with no turbulence. Essentially, the pool is a water feature.

This modern pool house and infinity edge pool share sunset views across the waters of a beautiful cove in southeastern Connecticut. The concept of a fire element (there are two) was an obvious complement to the water theme. The pool house avoids conventional construction methods and materials and instead uses architectural concrete, steel, and glass as the finishes. The indoor fireplace is situated in a cast-in-place concrete wall created using 1\" veneer plywood forms that were assembled by carpenters. The hearth was precast and lifted into place. A TV resides above the fireplace. Outside, the linear fire element is positioned right at the edge of the terrace, as a similar treatment to the infinity edge pool. The linear fires link to the brilliant reds and oranges of the sunsets that grace this special property throughout the year.
