Inspiration for a rustic natural water slide remodel in Philadelphia

Newly installed custom pool design approximately (22"x17"). Multi tiered pool deck installed with concrete inter locking paver's. Poured in place (PIP) concrete coping w/ sand washed finish installed along the outer perimeter of pool. Stacked stone veneer panels installed along all the raised portions located on the back side of the pool. Mosaic glass (6" inch) tiles were installed along the interior of the pool surface. Pool surface finish is a Pacific Blue Mini Pebble w/ abalone shells.

This Dallas freeform pool & spa was built on a lot with a 20' drop. The clients were told repeatedly that they could not build a pool on their site. Three terrace railroad tied walls were removed and the pool was carved into the hillside. The trees had to remain so the existing hammock could stay along with the wood deck. Stone walls 6' and 5' above the pool created an awesome sound of the waterfall and spa spillway. Imported Arizona flagstone used to tie in with the existing brick on the house. Pockets were left for plants to soften the wall and patio. Diving pool with huge tanning ledge provides for both activity and relaxation. The stone walls are done in Milsap random pattern and the Pebblesheen is Tahoe Blue. Project designed by Mike Farley. Beautiful custom pool, spa & cabana designed by Mike Farley in Trophy Club, TX. The spa is the focal point for the home 365 days of the year. It was raised 18" high for comfortable seating and a nice water feature. 3 stainless steel spill edges match the spillways coming out of the fire and water bowls. The silver Splitface Travertine tile matches the coping and porch Travertine. The rolled edge spa tile also matches the tile used on the pool waterline and details. The grade drops in the yard so the back of the spa is bar height so the patio was included for barstools on the back of the spa. The fireplace in the cabana provides screening from the neighbors view. The pool and spa had to be piered because the grade was raised 10' above the golf course. Waterway Jets were used to provide a variety of hydrotherapy options. Beauty and function are the best combination for a spa and this one has it all.

This beautiful spa was built as part of a new home. The goal was to design a very calming retreat where the family could pamper themselves and rejuvenate. The area was designed off an adjacent exercise room. The space included a jacuzzi lap pool, steam room, sauna and dressing area. A skylight “well of light” was designed to bring natural light into one end of the pool area. Cubbyholes and a bench with hooks were incorporated into one end of the room for towels, robes and miscellaneous items. A vanity area was placed immediately outside the room with a matching storage piece by the pool area. The natural limestone flooring and Wenge color cabinets gave the room a fen shui feel. The end result of this remodel is a beautiful and highly functional space that is completely unique to the homeowner!

To keep plants from going into the pool, I recommend planting succulents, and using only one or two varieties to maintain a streamlined appearance. If they are nearby a fire pit, as seen here, make sure that all flora stay contained inside the planter, so as not to catch on fire.
