This homeowner lived on a very prominent golf course and wanted to feel like he was on the putting green of the 9th hole while standing at his family room window. The existing layout of the home had the garage enjoying that view with the outdated dining room, family room and kitchen further back on the lot. We completely demoed the garage and a section of the home, allowing us to design and build with that view in mind. The completed project has the family room at the back of the home with a gorgeous view of the golf course from two large curved bay windows. A new fireplace with custom cabinetry and shelf niches and coffered high ceilings makes this room a treasure. The new kitchen boasts of white painted cabinetry, an island with wood top and a 6 burner Wolf cooktop with a custom hood, white tile with multiple trim details and a pot filler faucet. A Butler’s Pantry was added for entertaining complete with beautiful white painted cabinetry with glass upper cabinets, marble countertops and a prep sink and faucet. We converted an unused dining room into a custom, high-end home office with beautiful site- built mahogany bookcases to showcase the homeowners book collections. To complete this renovation, we added a “friends” entry and a mudroom for improved access and functionality. The transformation is not only efficient but aesthetically pleasing to the eye and exceeded the homeowner’s expectations to enjoy their view of the 9th hole.

On the interior, not a stitch of drywall was used, the entire enclosure was treated like a lake house porch. Double doors to the back yard allow large plants to be brought in during the winter. Our architectural strategy required a continuous first floor (10ft) and the home remained aligned with the existing circle driveway. The rustic metal roof front entrance porch (gas lanterns) leads into a massive 2 story center hall (home of a large, centered gathering table) to a large centered outdoor back yard courtyard (kitchen to the right and sports bar to the left) which centers on the new swimming pool and wide outdoor stairs of the retaining wall required for the extensive stormwater management system. That establishes the center of the home stretching over 100 ft from the front step to the back yard stairs flanked by 2 fire features highlighting the pool. The locations of other rooms listed below are to the right and left of this centered home line. Kitchen, kitchen fireplace, pantry, and guest suite are to the right. Entrance to the finished basement theater room are to the right along with a bar to support events in the center hall. To the left of the center 2 story hall are the exercise room with sauna (with glass garage type door to the front porch), sport bar with theater and see through fireplace, game room, mudroom, laundry, 4 car conditioned garage, and pool changing rooms. Custom designed island by homeowner with plenty of storage on front of bar under island with a custom vent hood covered in ceramic tile with a herringbone backsplash all the way up the wall

This living room was a blank slate, waiting to be filled in with texture and color. With a family room on the other side of the house for tv watching and game playing, we wanted to create a grown up space for when the Mr. and Mrs. entertain their friends. With white walls, a wood mantle and a single Shabby Chic white couch, this room was open to endless possibilities to update and sophisticate! We choose a subtle grey for the walls which was soothing and neutral, but added a much needed warmth. Vintage chinoiserie pots we scored on one of our hunts are a work of art in themselves. Raised on wooden pedestals, these fig leaf trees make great house plants and will continue to grow filling out the space with fresh greenery. The existing couch in the room was white with huge arms and big floppy cushions. It was in need of some TLC and updating. By modernizing the existing frame, it became a comfy Chesterfield in fresh natural woven linen. The tufting of the couch elevates the look without sacrificing the comfort. Our clients loved it so much, we did a second couch to match giving them plenty of seating to chat and enjoy cocktails. A vintage rug loaded with beautiful colors is grounded by the neutrality of the furniture. The mantle was painted in a rich dark grey that matched the veins in the marble hearth and looks like it’s own framed work of art. When deciding on what to do with the blank walls, she showed us some of her daughter’s recent artwork. We were totally inspired with what we saw. What a treasure to have such talent! We suggested a gallery wall, framing each masterpiece, in different vintage frames. A mix of sizes and patterns look super chic when all done in a uniform color. With touches of brass throughout the room, gilded with gold was the way to go. One of our favorite finds – a brass swan, became the perfect unexpected vase for fresh tulips. A bone tray is a beautiful contrast to the vintage coffee table we lacquered in black and inlaid with beveled smokey mirror. The finishing touches were the pieces to finish off the fireplace. I always love a lion, a protector of the house. We snatched up this beautiful marble and brass fire tool set the minute we saw it and the rest is history. A beautiful space to relax and entertain, while showing off their very own art gallery. Foster the creativity within your children, and everyone will reap the benefits.
