We built a gazebo type structure to provide a nice shady sitting area next to the pool. It comes complete with a native stone floor, lights and a ceiling fan.

I used plants native to this particular corner of Bowen Island, that the deer wont eat. The garden is meant to look like the native plants were marching down the hillside to ground the main residence and cottage. Mainly evergreen so that year round interest is provided. Also, once established, will be quite drought tolerant.
