Relocating to Portland, Oregon from California, this young family immediately hired Amy to redesign their newly purchased home to better fit their needs. The project included updating the kitchen, hall bath, and adding an en suite to their master bedroom. Removing a wall between the kitchen and dining allowed for additional counter space and storage along with improved traffic flow and increased natural light to the heart of the home. This galley style kitchen is focused on efficiency and functionality through custom cabinets with a pantry boasting drawer storage topped with quartz slab for durability, pull-out storage accessories throughout, deep drawers, and a quartz topped coffee bar/ buffet facing the dining area. The master bath and hall bath were born out of a single bath and a closet. While modest in size, the bathrooms are filled with functionality and colorful design elements. Durable hex shaped porcelain tiles compliment the blue vanities topped with white quartz countertops. The shower and tub are both tiled in handmade ceramic tiles, bringing much needed texture and movement of light to the space. The hall bath is outfitted with a toe-kick pull-out step for the family’s youngest member!

The interior of the cabinets in this kitchen were not working well for the homeowner. They wanted to keep their kitchen design and improve the functionality with convenient storage options. We added 2 garbage drawers that worked around the sink plumbing, double tiered corner cabinet pull out system and roll out drawers in other cabinets.

This contemporary bathroom design in Doylestown, PA combines sleek lines with comfort and style to create a space that will be the center of attention in any home. The white DuraSupreme cabinets pair perfectly with the Cambria engineered quartz countertop, Riobel fixtures, and Top Knobs hardware, all accented by Voguebay decorative tile behind the Gatco tilt mirrors. Cabinetry includes a makeup vanity with Fleurco backlit mirror, customized pull-out storage, pull-out grooming cabinet, and tower cabinets with mullion doors. A white Victoria + Albert tub serves as a focal point, next to the contrasting black tile wall. The large alcove shower includes a corner shelf, pebble tile base, and matching pebble shower niche.

Master bathroom design & build in Houston Texas. This master bathroom was custom designed specifically for our client. She wanted a luxurious bathroom with lots of detail, down to the last finish. Our original design had satin brass sink and shower fixtures. The client loved the satin brass plumbing fixtures, but was a bit apprehensive going with the satin brass plumbing fixtures. Feeling it would lock her down for a long commitment. So we worked a design out that allowed us to mix metal finishes. This way our client could have the satin brass look without the commitment of the plumbing fixtures. We started mixing metals by presenting a chandelier made by Curry & Company, the "Zenda Orb Chandelier" that has a mix of silver and gold. From there we added the satin brass, large round bar pulls, by "Lewis Dolin" and the satin brass door knobs from Emtek. We also suspended a gold mirror in the window of the makeup station. We used a waterjet marble from Tilebar, called "Abernethy Marble." The cobalt blue interior doors leading into the Master Bath set the gold fixtures just right.

Inspiration for a small mid-century modern master green tile and ceramic tile porcelain tile alcove shower remodel in San Francisco with an undermount sink, flat-panel cabinets, light wood cabinets, solid surface countertops and a one-piece toilet

This Historical Home was built in the Columbia Country Club in 1925 and was ready for a new, modern kitchen which kept the traditional feel of the home. A previous sunroom addition created a dining room, but the original kitchen layout kept the two rooms divided. The kitchen was a small and cramped c-shape with a narrow door leading into the dining area. The kitchen and dining room were completely opened up, creating a long, galley style, open layout which maximized the space and created a very good flow. Dimensions In Wood worked in conjuction with the client’s architect and contractor to complete this renovation. Custom cabinets were built to use every square inch of the floorplan, with the cabinets extending all the way to the ceiling for the most storage possible. Our woodworkers even created a step stool, staining it to match the kitchen for reaching these high cabinets. The family already had a kitchen table and chairs they were happy with, so we refurbished them to match the kitchen’s new stain and paint color. Crown molding top the cabinet boxes and extends across the ceiling where they create a coffered ceiling, highlighting the beautiful light fixtures centered on a wood medallion. Columns were custom built to provide separation between the different sections of the kitchen, while also providing structural support. Our master craftsmen kept the original 1925 glass cabinet doors, fitted them with modern hardware, repainted and incorporated them into new cabinet boxes. TASK LED Lighting was added to this china cabinet, highlighting the family’s decorative dishes. Appliance Garage On one side of the kitchen we built an appliance garage with doors that slide back into the cabinet, integrated power outlets and door activated lighting. Beside this is a small Galley Workstation for beverage and bar service which has the Galley Bar Kit perfect for sliced limes and more. Baking Cabinet with Pocket Doors On the opposite side, a baking cabinet was built to house a mixer and all the supplies needed for creating confections. Automatic LED lights, triggered by opening the door, create a perfect baker’s workstation. Both pocket doors slide back inside the cabinet for maximum workspace, then close to hide everything, leaving a clean, minimal kitchen devoid of clutter. Super deep, custom drawers feature custom dividers beneath the baking cabinet. Then beneath the appliance garage another deep drawer has custom crafted produce boxes per the customer’s request. Central to the kitchen is a walnut accent island with a granite countertop and a Stainless Steel Galley Workstation and an overhang for seating. Matching bar stools slide out of the way, under the overhang, when not in use. A color matched outlet cover hides power for the island whenever appliances are needed during preparation. The Galley Workstation has several useful attachments like a cutting board, drying rack, colander holder, and more. Integrated into the stone countertops are a drinking water spigot, a soap dispenser, garbage disposal button and the pull out, sprayer integrated faucet. Directly across from the conveniently positioned stainless steel sink is a Bertazzoni Italia stove with 5 burner cooktop. A custom mosaic tile backsplash makes a beautiful focal point. Then, on opposite sides of the stove, columns conceal Rev-a-Shelf pull out towers which are great for storing small items, spices, and more. All outlets on the stone covered walls also sport dual USB outlets for charging mobile devices. Stainless Steel Whirlpool appliances throughout keep a consistent and clean look. The oven has a matching microwave above it which also works as a convection oven. Dual Whirlpool dishwashers can handle all the family’s dirty dishes. The flooring has black, marble tile inlays surrounded by ceramic tile, which are period correct for the age of this home, while still being modern, durable and easy to clean. Finally, just off the kitchen we also remodeled their bar and snack alcove. A small liquor cabinet, with a refrigerator and wine fridge sits opposite a snack bar and wine glass cabinets. This is an older house in Rice University that needed an updated master bathroom. The original shower was only 36" x 36". Spa Bath Renovation Spring 2014, Design and build. We moved the tub, shower and toilet to different locations to make the bathroom look more organized. We used pure white Caeserstone countertops, Hansgrohe Metris faucet, glass mosaic tile (Daltile - City Lights), stand silver 12 x 24 porcelain floor cut into 4 x 24 strips to make the chevron pattern on the floor, shower glass panel, shower niche, rain shower head, wet bath floating tub. Custom cabinets in a grey stain with mirror doors and circle overlays. The tower in center features charging station for toothbrushes, iPADs, and cell phones. Spacious Spa Bath. TV in bathroom, large chandelier in bathroom. Half circle cabinet doors with mirrors. Anther chandelier in a master bathroom. DBK Builders designed and built this property from scratch in 2005 with the original owners. When the property sold to new homeowners, they desired an updated, contemporary interior aesthetic. We were brought in by these clients to work in conjunction with the Interior Designer to execute the updated remodel and design. Some of our interior remodeling work included pulling out the old fireplace and chimney and its finish and installing a new linear fireplace and stone chimney beneath the mounted television; pulling out all the old flooring and replacing with new whitestained oak flooring throughout the whole 7,000 square foot home; replacing all the countertops, cabinets, and appliances in the kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry room.
