This structure contains a living roof covered in succulents. A rain chain funnels the water run-off. A wood fire cob pizza oven will be tucked into the corner, sheltered from the rain.

This backyard was in need of modernization. The homeowners had previously commissioned a design, but it did not fit into their budget. Urban Oasis revised the plan and buy simplifying and reusing existing materials, were able to meet the client's budget and design goals. "The new Connecticut Bluestone Full-Range paver patio connects with an existing path that leads to the front garden. With the patio being in part shade and part sun, a bench was placed under the canopy of the trees while the raised vegetable boxes were placed in the sunny areas for optimal vegetable-growing conditions."

This landscape has a little bit of everything...a large flagstone patio with a fire pit for entertaining, a meandering stream with a flagstone bridge, a vegetable garden with raised planter boxes, perennials of every color, boulder work, and landscape lighting to show it all off at night.

The upper level of this gorgeous Trex deck is the central entertaining and dining space and includes a beautiful concrete fire table and a custom cedar bench that floats over the deck. Light brown custom cedar screen walls provide privacy along the landscaped terrace and compliment the warm hues of the decking. Clean, modern light fixtures are also present in the deck steps, along the deck perimeter, and throughout the landscape making the space well-defined in the evening as well as the daytime.

The addition of a 2.5' concrete retaining wall along the South and West sides supports the new level backyard framework & divides the space into multi-functional areas, including patios, lawn, and the grow zone, a raised cedar box vegetable garden. The Sports court is behind the cedar privacy screen & shed, set 2.5' down lower, out of sight yet fully functional. NOTE: Use the light pink spring tree in the upper right section as reference to the (same) dark purple tree in the before photos
