Chinick Landscaping & Nursery

I contacted Candace at Chinick Landscaping to inquire about help making our yard look more beautiful and for ongoing yard maintenance. She was upfront in informing me they had no openings in doing regular maintenance or major projects, however she was willing to come that same week for a consultation in making suggestions. Over the summer Chinick worked us in whenever there was spare time and turned our yard into a magical garden that we love to spend time in! Candace, Steve and their team have been helpful in suggesting plants that work well together in color and texture which greatly added to the transformation of our garden. The communication and professionalism has been impeccable and somehow the team has always managed to squeeze us in and take good care of our yard. We have plans with Steve to put a retainer wall in to save our wooden fence. He spent a great deal of time listening to our needs, reviewing the overall look of our yard and came up with a plan for a wonderful natural rock wall that will fit our yard scheme perfectly. With all of this I have to say I have been amazed at how reasonable the charges have been. I am so impressed with the thoughtful, respectful and professional manner in which Candace and Steve Chinick work with us in making sure we have an end product that is more then we thought possible. I can't recommend Chinick Landscaping enough! Thank you Candace, Steve and the crew for the transformation of our plain yard into a beautiful, pleasant garden!

Chinick Landscaping & Nursery have done our weekly garden maintenance and installations for 22 years. The property they take care of is 2 acres, half of it is landscaped and half of it is woodlands. The owners, Steve and Candace Chinick, and their crew are professional, knowledgeable, friendly and very reliable. They have a great attention to detail and are wonderful to work with. In addition to excellent garden maintenance, they also powerwash our hard surfaces, help store our outdoor furniture, repair any broken irrigation or landscape lighting and whatever else we request. Both Steve and Candace are very responsive to any questions or concerns I have. The project in 2007 was the largest project they have done for us. There was ivy removal, irrigation installation and planting a lot of natives and ornamental grasses. They have done smaller projects for us and we have always been pleased with the work they have done. We highly recommend them.

The view from our living room was nice, except in the winter, when everything was dull or dead. Then Candace created a beautiful and vibrant design that gives color year-round. She listened to what was important to us and came up with a design that looks great all year long, and is especially enjoyable in winter. She is an expert on what will grow well in the Northwest, and has a great eye for color. I appreciated that she listened to both of us and came up with a plan that we both love.

We have worked with Chinick Landscaping for over 6 years, beginning with a complete remodel on our house and landscaping. Not only are they very professional, but they seek our input and work together to execute the vision we have. The whole team is reliable, consistent and our yard always looks amazing. They know far more than we do on plantings and do not disappoint with their recommendations. We are extremely happy with the results and see the value of the time, money and effort put forth.

Over the previous 1 1/2 years, Candace Chinick and I started dreaming and planning as to what we wanted our yard to look like when professionally landscaped. We had worked with Chinick Landscape on smaller projects and felt good about working with them on a whole new yard. Candace and Steve Chinick paid attention to things I really wanted: A contempory yard with lots of hardscape and interesting plants to compliment our Rummer home but it also needed to be low maintainance. Everything turned out even better than we could imagine. Our yard is now an extention of our home with lots of great space to entertain or just relax. The landscape crew who have worked with the Chinicks for years were the most wonderful men to work with. Always on time, knowing what to do and doing it well and so polite. We couldn't be happier with our decision to work with Chinick Landscape. We are so happy with their work and actually enjoy yardwork now.

Very simply put, if I could give five additional stars I would. They are that good. We just finished our third major yard project with the good folks from Chinick Lanscaping. They are amazing. Having been through many (unfortunately) poor projects in the past, we were naturally cautious to begin again. However, Chinick came highly recommended by some good friends. So we decided to give them a try. Right from the start, we knew this was different. Candice and Steve, are the owners, and work in a very cool Yin / Yang style; Candice brings the design flair and Steve engineers it. It is quite an effective combination. The finished projects have been magnificent. And along the way, we have found their staff to be very talented, professional, and courteous. I particularly enjoy the fact that - every day - they put their tools away and leave the workspace neat and tidy. No mess at all. These guys are real pro's. We are extremely particular about contractors, and super-fussy homeowners. That being said, we highly recommend Chinick Landscaping. Three large jobs are completed, and we are looking forward to hiring them again.
