Many times, a kitchen does not need a complete gut, rather more of a cosmetic redo. Which is exactly what we’ve done here! This particular kitchen already had great bones and beautiful sky blue cabinetry, it just needed some finishing touches to get that make-over look. To learn more, continue reading below! Countertops With cabinetry already having a fresh sky blue color, we didn’t have to touch the cabinets. However, by lowering the pony wall, and dropping it to cabinet-height, really helped to open up the kitchen. The original countertops were a dark and outdated tile application that needed a redo. So out with the old and in with the new 3 cm Cambria Quartz in Ella. The brightness of the new countertops was a much-needed cosmetic change for this kitchen space to liven up! Backsplash The original backsplash was an outdated light-brown 4×4″ square installed in a mixture of straight and diamond lay. The new backsplash was a Daltile Artigiano 3×6 glazed ceramic wall tile in Italian Alps. This tile has a hand-painted look with irregular edges, giving it a hand-made look. Fixtures and Fittings To complete this kitchen, a new sink, faucet, and hardware is a must! From Blanco, we have a Diamond super single bowl in a granite composite sink in the color Truffle (441765), and Meridian semi-professional faucet in Satin Nickel (440557). Lastly, the new hardware on the cabinetry are Amerock Blackrock pulls in Satin Nickel (BP55276-G10).

Signature Custom Cabintery Signature Custom frameless cabinets with European full overlay in “Larchmont” door style. Cherry wood with “Truffle” stain. Full extension dovetail drawers with soft close feature. Cabinet interiors finished in Maple. Base cabinets include rollout tray shelves, a lazy susan, spice drawer, pullout waste baskets, and hidden cutting board and knife block. Island has extended countertop for casual dining. Wall cabinets include 24” cabinets mounted over 42” wall cabinets and enclosed refrigerator with cabinet above. Buffet area has 36” high wall cabinets with both glass and bronze wire inserts, a bar sink and an undercounter wine cooler. The homeowners chose to install perimeter cabinets using Dynasty by Omega. They chose the Madrid door style, Cherry wood, and a truffle stain. As for the island cabinets, they wanted the Madrid door style and Maple wood and then opted for the Pearl paint. The countertops are quartz and the island is granite. Before the renovation started, the homeowners selected Jenn-Air appliances, including an induction cooktop and built-in microwave oven with speed cook. Once the construction was underway, we removed the bulkheads to allow new cabinets that extended to the ceiling with two PC crown molding. This provided a cleaner, more modern look along with added storage for items that are occasionally used. We also swapped the pantry and refrigerator location to open up space as you enter the kitchen from the garage. The redesign also gave the refrigerator a built-in look. Then, we moved the cooktop to the corner and installed stainless steel Zephyr range hood and beveled subway tile in a herringbone pattern. The backsplash and new cooktop turned the most used area of the kitchen into a design feature. The addition of an enlarged island allows extra seating for up to four people. Moreover, island cabinets include two full-sized waste baskets for recycling and standard waste. The new farmhouse sink from Kohler not only looks and functions well but the drain is positioned at the rear corner. The plumbing in the cabinet below is consolidated to the back corner providing much more storage. Last, the built-in TV not only looks great but also reduces counter clutter. Plus, the drawer below the TV contains USB outlet for small personal device charging.
