Unexpected details make the boldest statements. This Powder Room received the ultimate remodel. We started with this custom color monkey wallpaper, incorporated a black concrete fluted sink onto a floating marble vanity. Finished the space with new sconces and a tall oval mirror for a dramatic and elevated look!

A small second floor room that was being used as a storage closet was converted to an En-suite Bathroom. The Bathroom was thoughtfully designed for aging-in-place with adequate clearances, minimal thresholds, and smart design elements for caretakers to assist in everyday tasks. The Master Bathroom on this floor was also updated with the introduction of a curb-less shower, custom vanity cabinets, and modern plumbing and lighting fixtures. The Kitchen received a new, modern layout and custom cabinetry to take advantage of the generous ceiling height and abundant natural light. The beloved wood stove in the adjacent sitting room was flanked with floating walnut shelves and a custom hutch to highlight the brick chimney and activate the space. Natural materials and a simple yet modern aesthetic create warm and functional spaces in the classic West Philadelphian home.

Photography: 360hometours.ca A Charming Cape Cod Home in West Vancouver underwent a full renovation and redesign by Tina McCabe of McCabe Design & Interiors. The homeowners wanted to keep the original character of the home whilst giving their home a complete makeover. The kitchen space was expanded by opening up the kitchen and dining room, adding French doors off the kitchen to a new deck, and moving the powder room as much as the existing plumbing allowed. A custom kitchen design with custom cabinets and storage was created. A custom "princess bathroom" was created by adding more floor space from the adjacent bedroom and hallway, designing custom millworker, and specifying equisite tile from New Jersey. The home also received refinished hardwood floors, new moulding and millwork, pot lights throughout and custom lighting fixtures, wainscotting, and a new coat of paint. Finally, the laundry was moved upstairs from the basement for ease of use.

The home was brightened up with neutral gray and taupe tones on the walls. The living room received a complete overhaul. Introducing contemporary furniture with tailored lines allowed the gracious arched windows and door way become a focal point in the room. Rich wood tones in the accent tables and bar cabinet further embraced the dramatic windows and doors while the white flowy sheers make the space feel bright and elegant. The contemporary artwork personalized the space giving it a gallery like feel.

With natural stained wood being used sparingly in this house, special emphasis was given to the stairs. Each tread is kept as a “pure” rectangle, uncompromised by posts and balusters. Painted risers extend past the treads to receive the balustrade and create visually interesting forms and shadows.

This luxurious and spa like custom bathroom took a cold and drafty backroom and converted it to a warm and cozy retreat as part of a guest suite remodel. We insulated the exterior walls and floor as we were adding a radiant flooring system underneath the bespoke patterned tile floor. The achromatic color scheme is offset by a beautiful cream colored wallpaper with silver leaf floral accents. This rich and comforting space will make any guest they receive feel warm and welcome.

Our client had been living in her beautiful lakeside retreat for about 3 years. All around were stunning views of the lake and mountains, but the view from inside was minimal. It felt dark and closed off from the gorgeous waterfront mere feet away. She desired a bigger kitchen, natural light, and a contemporary look. Referred to JRP by a subcontractor our client walked into the showroom one day, took one look at the modern kitchen in our design center, and was inspired! After talking about the frustrations of dark spaces and limitations when entertaining groups of friends, the homeowner and the JRP design team emerged with a new vision. Two walls between the living room and kitchen would be eliminated and structural revisions were needed for a common wall shared a wall with a neighbor. With the wall removals and the addition of multiple slider doors, the main level now has an open layout. Everything in the home went from dark to luminous as sunlight could now bounce off white walls to illuminate both spaces. Our aim was to create a beautiful modern kitchen which fused the necessities of a functional space with the elegant form of the contemporary aesthetic. The kitchen playfully mixes frameless white upper with horizontal grain oak lower cabinets and a fun diagonal white tile backsplash. Gorgeous grey Cambria quartz with white veining meets them both in the middle. The large island with integrated barstool area makes it functional and a great entertaining space. The master bedroom received a mini facelift as well. White never fails to give your bedroom a timeless look. The beautiful, bright marble shower shows what's possible when mixing tile shape, size, and color. The marble mosaic tiles in the shower pan are especially bold paired with black matte plumbing fixtures and gives the shower a striking visual. Mark Hoyle Originally, this 3700 SF two level eclectic farmhouse from the mid 1980’s underwent design changes to reflect a more colonial style. Now, after being completely renovated with additional 2800 SF living space, it’s combined total of 6500 SF boasts an Energy Star certification of 5 stars. Approaching this completed home, you will meander along a new driveway through the dense buffer of trees until you reach the clearing, and then circle a tiered fountain on axis with the front entry accentuating the symmetrical main structure. Many of the exterior changes included enclosing the front porch and rear screened porch, replacing windows, replacing all the vinyl siding with and fiber cement siding, creating a new front stoop with winding brick stairs and wrought iron railings as will as other additions to the left and rear of the home. The existing interior was completely fro the studs and included modifying uses of many of the existing rooms such as converting the original dining room into an oval shaped theater with reclining theater seats, fiber-optic starlight ceiling and an 80” television with built-in surround sound. The laundry room increased in size by taking in the porch and received all new cabinets and finishes. The screened porch across the back of the house was enclosed to create a new dining room, enlarged the kitchen, all of which allows for a commanding view of the beautifully landscaped pool. The upper master suite begins by entering a private office then leads to a newly vaulted bedroom, a new master bathroom with natural light and an enlarged closet. The major portion of the addition space was added to the left side as a part time home for the owner’s brother. This new addition boasts an open plan living, dining and kitchen, a master suite with a luxurious bathroom and walk–in closet, a guest suite, a garage and its own private gated brick courtyard entry and direct access to the well appointed pool patio. And finally the last part of the project is the sunroom and new lagoon style pool. Tucked tightly against the rear of the home. This room was created to feel like a gazebo including a metal roof and stained wood ceiling, the foundation of this room was constructed with the pool to insure the look as if it is floating on the water. The pool’s negative edge opposite side allows open views of the trees beyond. There is a natural stone waterfall on one side of the pool and a shallow area on the opposite side for lounge chairs to be placed in it along with a hot tub that spills into the pool. The coping completes the pool’s natural shape and continues to the patio utilizing the same stone but separated by Zoysia grass keeping the natural theme. The finishing touches to this backyard oasis is completed utilizing large boulders, Tempest Torches, architectural lighting and abundant variety of landscaping complete the oasis for all to enjoy.

This LEED Platinum certified modern farmhouse ties into the cultural landscape of Lincoln, Massachusetts - a town known for its rich history, farming traditions, conservation efforts, and visionary architecture. The goal was to design and build a new single family home on 1.8 acres that respects the neighborhood’s agrarian roots, produces more energy than it consumes, and provides the family with flexible spaces to live-play-work-entertain. The resulting 2,800 SF home is proof that families do not need to compromise on style, space or comfort in a highly energy-efficient and healthy home. CONNECTION TO NATURE. The attached garage is ubiquitous in new construction in New England’s cold climate. This home’s barn-inspired garage is intentionally detached from the main dwelling. A covered walkway connects the two structures, creating an intentional connection with the outdoors between auto and home. FUNCTIONAL FLEXIBILITY. With a modest footprint, each space must serve a specific use, but also be flexible for atypical scenarios. The Mudroom serves everyday use for the couple and their children, but is also easy to tidy up to receive guests, eliminating the need for two entries found in most homes.
